Would give this guy & his dad all the stars in the sky. A large window in the utility room of my 1927 house had been cracked from top to bottom since I bought it 3 years previous. Every time I or my kids walked through the room I was afraid it would fall out and slit someone's jugular. I'd always assumed the window would have to be totally replaced, to the tune of $800-$1000 dollars w/ labor. After I got last year's tax refund check I decided I finally needed to deal with it. I called this guy to come over & take a look at it on the off-chance that it could be repaired before I replaced it. He fixed it on the spot, charged $150 for it and was out of there in 40 minutes. When he called me back to look at it, I thought he still had the glass out of the frame b/c the window was so dang clear. Even after he said he was done, I had to poke at the glass to make sure it was real: and he was all like "DON'T PUSH ON IT YET! DON'T PUSH ON IT YET!" (lol, sorry...) He's really the best. read more

Unfortunately, my sliding glass door had a rock hit it which caused it to shatter. My gardener called Jimenez Glass and they came out within about 30 minutes in the pouring rain to measure the door. Guillermo told me what day the new door panel would be ready, and sure enough, he called that day and came to replace it. The door looks like new. These people are awesome. Over a year ago I had a broken oversize glass door, an attempted burglary had left it with one pane shattered. They came out promptly and repaired it for a totally reasonable price. Just today I called them because the glass door wasn't rolling smoothly, I thought they might have some ideas even though replacement wheels isn't their specialty. They adjusted the wheels (which had collapsed due to loose screws) and although I tried to pay them insisted on doing it for free since they had done other work for me. They are the best. Highly recommend! The most impressive part of their (Guillermo Jr and Sr, a pleasant father-son team) work was that were they needed to cut a piece of casing loose to access the lower of my old double hung wooden window panes in order to repair, they did it with such precision that when it was put back in place you could barely tell they were there. This is a very old house with several (understatement) layers of paint to cut through. I had some other windows in the house replace and the workmanship was much less, although they said they would try to make it as invisible as possible. Huge paint chips were broken off and needed hours of repair to get the frame profile detail back. Also, the estimating and appointment set-up was quick and easy. A few months ago, about 1am my daughter decided to check if the dining room window was closed by pushing on it. Her hand went right through it. Thank God she wasn't cut up or hurt. The glass was single pane, put in when aluminum frame windows were the cat's meow. So there were thousands (seemed like thousands) of shards of razor sharp glass on the sidewalk outside. After cleaning that up and putting up cardboard in the window, I called a "24 hour" glass repair whos initials are East Bay Glass and left a message. Two days of calling later, I make contact with a woman there when, after I explained the situation (one single pane of glass 22"X47" to replace), she started saying "hello... hello....". Then hung up on me. Went to yelp. Found Jimenez Glass. Found lifesavers. I called, 25 mins later they came, they replaced same day. Quick, clean, efficient, and affordable. When I called Guillermo last Friday morning, he asked me for the dimensions of the broken window. I got his email address and sent the dimensions to him along with a picture of the broken window late Friday night. I received an email from Guillermo at 7:45 on Monday morning. He gave me a quote and a 4-hour mid-day window. Since I didn't check the email until 10, I called and asked him to come around noon. He and, I believe it is, his father came at around 12:20. Because it was an old fashioned window with a lock which I didn't have a key for, they told me it would not be problem and they could remove the lock, replace the glass, and then put the 2 parts of the lock back, which they did. Because of this, it took them much longer to replace the glass than the estimated time Guillermo had given me when they walked in. They did a good job, cleaned up after themselves and they didn't charge more than the original estimate. They were pleasant, courteous, professional and skillful.
