I called Jimmie yesterday at 1pm and by 1:30pm he was at my house and gave me a quote. By late afternoon after getting another estimate, I had agreed to have him do the job and by 7:30am today his team was at my house, ready to go. It was his brother Loki who greeted me and he had a team of 3 guys with him. I walked through what needed to be done and Loki was friendly and professional and knowledgeable. I liked how he stressed maintaining the natural beauty of the trees, as that was important to me also. I had a sago palm that had overgrown so much that it was obstructing my walkway. I was kind of nervous about this as I didn't really want to chop away the central palm. Loki said we could keep it and still clear the walkway, so I was happy about that. After the guys started trimming it, they discovered four new plants had sprouted and they asked me if it was okay to reduce them and I said yes, go ahead. So they removed two and groomed the remaining three beautifully, and they did it all in about 35 minutes. I would recommend them if you have a sago palm that needs maintenance. It is obvious they have a lot of experience. They also trimmed my long shrub by my walkway. I asked if they could make it even but Loki said it wouldn't look good because the leaves would be removed in some places, so I said just do how you think is best. It wasn't exactly even, so I asked one of the guys to straighten out a couple of areas and he was immediately responsive and helpful. The biggest part of the job was my overgrown podocarpus, which started out as a privacy screen but I did not maintain the shape and it had grown into several tall trees now that were hanging over my house and into my neighbor's yard so they needed to be cut back. I was concerned that the beauty of the trees be maintained but Loki did a great job reducing and shaping the overall size of the 3 trees on the outside so they were symmetrical and enough foliage was left to look nice. My only concern was some of the dead branches, twigs, and leaves on the interior part of the trees, which had become quite visible after the outside branches and foliage had been trimmed. Loki told me that the twigs being cut would interfere with the foliage that provided a privacy screen. I understand and agree for some of the twigs, but there were others that just looked like dead branches which were not near the privacy screen. Take a look at my photos. There were also big clumps of dead leaves throughout the inside of the podocarpus that were now more visible. So I guess performing cleanup inside the tree was not part of the job. But I am still happy with the job they did, and the price they did it for as it was reasonable. All four guys were polite and hard working and they were done by 9:30am. The entire job was done in less than 24 hours from the time of my first call! Overall I am pleased with Jimmie's Tree Service and their lightning quick response and service and would highly recommend Jimmie and Loki and their whole team to others. read more

The crew did a great job in cutting down my tree and cleaning up. It was getting close to the powerline so I needed it down before it caused any problems in the future. We hired this company to come cut an extremely large cactus out of the front yard. I called on Thursday mid morning and spoke to Jimmie, he came by to give an estimate within two hours. Once he gave the price, he advised he could have a crew out the next day to remove the cactus. The crew that came out was awesome. They had the cactus cut within an hour and started the cleanup. My very big pine tree needed a good trim. When I was requesting quotes, several places told me the job was too big. One guy that declined the job was nice enough to referred me to Jimmies and asked Jimmies to contact me... and they did!!! Tony was my estimator. He was prompt and professional. I had a fairly large tree that needed to be removed from the front of my house. I dealt primarily with Monna who handled the business end of the transaction and was also present on the job site keeping an eye on things. I would HIGHLY recommend this crew. The total job time, from truck arrival, to tree removal, site cleanup and departure was around 2-1/2 hours. Watching them work was like watching a NASCAR pit crew. Every member of the six man crew worked seamlessly together and clearly were experts at their trade. The site was left perfectly clean. They bill was exactly what we had agreed on, and the price was quite reasonable for all the work they did. From quote to actual job was around two weeks because they are very busy and have a very full schedule. However, they arrived on the agreed upon day at 8am and were hard at work by 8:10.
