Definitely, looking forward to hire them again for future home upgrades projects. Will be recommending them to fam and friends! My wife and I have a new-build that required additional landscaping of our backyard. We eventually decided to go with California Outdoor Living after reading all their positive reviews on yelp. In addition their quote was very competitive if not the best when looking at other contractors. We already had a design in mind for JC which made the process very quick. Although there was some misunderstanding with the design and drains throughout the process, JC was always responsive with his texts and quick to make adjustments. The moment we got our design approved by our HOA, the construction happened VERY FAST. We emailed California Outdoor living on a Wednesday evening of our approval. The very next day (Thursday), JC arrived to go over the outline. I do appreciate how fast things were done, but it was almost to a fault at times. They were ready to go by the next day but my wife and I didn't feel like we had discussed the plan and execution thoroughly enough. On Friday the construction workers were already digging out our backyard. They spoke only Spanish so communication was very difficult to ensure if our plan was executed appropriately. By Saturday all of the pavers were laid out. Construction was incredibly fast but because of that some details were lost in translation. We discussed with JC that we wanted an 11x14 ft paver island. However the final dimensions was 12.5 x 12.5 feet. We also wanted all the walls of our backyard to be lined with turf. However the paver border ran too close to one of the walls, that putting turf did not make sense. They only left 1 inch between the wall and the paver (see attached image). We appreciate how fast the work was done. The overall work was great BUT not exactly what we wanted. We felt rushed with the whole construction process. However everything was done in less than a week which was incredible! In addition, once the turf was laid out JC noted that window reflections from both our neighbors and our own windows would cause damage to the turf. He informed us this can happen sometimes. Going back to rushing things and not being thorough, we wished JC took the time to look at our backyard and factor in this possibility. If we had known the reflections could damage this area we would have changed our turf design. At the end of the day they are just executing our design, but it's these minor things that left us feeling like our backyard could have been better. However we are still very thrilled with the overall speed and communication done throughout the process! Would still recommend this company. But these small critiques are definitely something to keep in mind for future clients.

I would not recommend this company. Their lack of attention to detail made the entire experience…read moreunpleasant. The drainage tube was installed with the slope going the wrong direction, and the walls were not properly covered before the concrete was poured, leaving concrete splatter all over the side walls. The concrete also cracked less than three days after it was poured. It was poured on Monday morning, and on Wednesday the artificial turf guy was using a large plate compactor right next to the two-day-old concrete. I believe the vibration from that equipment contributed to the cracking. When I spoke with JC about the issue, he told me that concrete will crack sooner or later and that is why they do not warranty cracks. Concrete was poured directly on top of the soil, no gravel was brought first. While I understand that concrete can crack over time, I did not expect it to crack before I had even made my final payment. Despite my disappointment, I paid the remaining balance. After that, I never received any follow-up confirmation that the payment was received , or even a simple thank you.

He came to my house for the scheduled consultation and gave me the best price. After seeing my lawn, I asked if he could fix my sprinkler and lay out landscape fabric and mulch to prevent weeds and maintenance. He said he would measure what I need once he finishes the lawn cleanup, which I liked. The day came, and he cut my grass and cleaned up the weeds in my lawn. He also capped a broken irrigation line I had from the previous owner of the house without any issues and installed the new sprinkler I had mentioned. He measured my lawn and gave me the price for the mulch with a landscape barrier. I agreed, and he went to Home Depot to pick up the materials in his truck. When he came back, he laid down the barrier and mulch to perfection. He also went the extra mile by removing the sprinkler heads that aren't needed anymore, which I appreciate about him. All in all, Tony is the man for the job. He's easy to communicate with, and he works hard. I will recommend him to my neighbor, who is looking for a new gardener, and will hire him again for my next lawn project. Thanks, Tony!

We needed 4 gigantic Eucalyptus trees removed from our property along with some trimming of other trees and bushes. We had quotes from 6 different companies. Jimmies was by far the cheapest quote. $1800 cheaper than some of the others. I dealt with Jimmie Jr who was extremely helpful and informative. His crew showed up when expected, did a fantastic job and cleaned everything up before leaving. There was a miscommunication when we got the quote and on the day of the job there were 2 extra trees that needed to be trimmed that hadn't been included in the original quote but instead of charging us more, Jimmie did the trees for free. Nothing was too much trouble for him. After the crew left I noticed one of our sprinklers had been damaged by the felling of the trees so I emailed him and he had one of his guys come out that same day to fix it. 2 weeks after the job was done we noticed that the pressure was low on another sprinkler line so I had to call Jimmie again, and again he had someone come out to take care of it. I was 100% satisfied with Jimmie's and would not hesitate to recommend them or to use them again. Excellent service, friendly, honest, trustworthy and very affordable!!!! Thanks Jimmie!!! read more

Worst service ever. Several men came to the house unexpected. Told me I had to move my car out of my personal parking spot in back of my house. When I told them they needed to wait till I contact the landlord and find out what is going on, one of the men who stated he was the boss and little brother of the owner of the company got in my face and told me they were here to do a job and I was just a renter. I told him I was going to take my kids to school and he was not to start till I contacted the landlord. He got in my face called me a vulgar names and threatened me. I then called my husband home to deal with it. The man then got up in my husbands face and threatened him told my you got a problem homey and took off his gloves and threw them to the ground when all my husband was doing was out front waiting for his superviser and the landlord. We called the landlord and their company and nothing was done. So we are now going to make sure everyone hears about the service we got and recommend that no one gets this service because weather you are a renter or a owner their is a way to do business and there is a way not to do business and this is defently not how we would want anyone elese being treated read more

I was looking for a tree service local so I happened to google search "tree service's" near my area and behold this company popped up! I read a couple of reviews and decided to give them a shot! I gave the office a call to Janell booked an appt the same day with Jimmie Sr. who came out and gave me a quote for a couple of trees I needed done in front and backyard. A very nice man his quote was reasonable however I did reach out to another tree service company who was 5 star as well "Octavio's Tree Service" his name was Eric he came out and said that he wasn't able to do the job but, referred me to use Jimmie's Tree Service and to my surprise I told Eric I had Jimmie come out and gave me a quote and he advised me to indeed use Jimmie's :) Glad I did! Crew of 5 came out the following day as scheduled they even gave me a courtesy text 30 mins ahead that they were on the way and they showed up we did a walk-thru of what needed to be done. First Time Yelper! :) After online searching for a Tree Service company I came across Octavio's Tree Service (Eric) he came out and said he wouldn't be able to do the job and that he recommended Jimmie's Tree Service instead. I mean if another 5 star company is recommending another tree service company they must be good as well right!?! Anyhow I didn't even bother to look up other companies to get more quotes, I trusted Eric's instinct and went ahead and called Jimmie's Tree Service :) Glad I did! Called in to get an appt, Jimmie came out the same day very nice man and gave me a reasonable quote for the amount of work I needed done. The office sent over an email of the work proposal along with insurance docs and I was scheduled in for the following day. A crew of 9 men showed up on time as scheduled and went to work so hard. This is my first yelp review! I happened to see their advertisement in back of a hummer and decided to call them up! Good thing I did! Received a call back from Jimmie Sr came out the same day and gave me a great quote I couldn't turn down! Within the next 20 mins I received an email from Monna with the work proposal and insurance docs! I mean WOW I didn't even have to ask for their insurance they were on top of it! Monna called me to schedule the work and confirm that I received their email and they were here the next day as scheduled on time as well. The workers were so kind and worked so hard even did a great detail cleanup to my backyard! I'm super happy with the great customer service from these guys and work they did to my house. Ok, these guys are the real deal! Want a licensed, insured professional team with the right equipment and reasonably priced? Look no further than Jimmy's Tree Service. I hired them to remove 2 date palms that were each more than 60 ft high in the front yard plus about 4 or 5 additional trees that were encroaching on my Neighbor's yard. A crew arrived on time on the designated day. They had a big truck with an extending arm and bucket to safely remove the enormous palms. The city came by & tried to give them a difficult time but Monna and crew danced their way through what could have been a difficult situation. These guys were great. We had 4 giant overgrown Eugenia and 2 Norfolk Pine that were planted too close to the house. All needed removed according to our homeowner's insurance company - and also so we could reroof. They worked us into the schedule quickly, with a fair price, and showed up with a big team ready to knock it out. Even though I had requested a Dig Alert, and we were cleared, the crew hit our water main when grinding the stumps. This was not their fault. But Jimmy went above and beyond and even found us a plumber who could get out here the next morning and patch things up. A+ work and I'll use them again next time. read more

Once again Jimmie's does not disappoint. Tree trimmers don't come any better. The entire crew is fast, polite and professional. One call , an estimate, the crew. Hired Jimmies Tree service to cut a ivy wall that had fallen off the wall during a recent storm and to also cut down a small tree with stump removal. Jimmie Jr, Joe and the rest of the crew showed up on time, all were courteous, professional and got to work right away and tackled this small project in no time at all, afterwards they all spent a little time to clean up my yard, they even removed some excess dirt for me so I could open up my gate! Jimmie's Tree Service removed four large columnar cactus from our backyard cactus garden. The cactus removed were standing from 9 feet high to 15 feet high. Situated around these tall cactus were other varieties of valuable non-columnar cactus. Jimmie's Tree Service removed the tall specimens without damaging the smaller cactus. Contacted Eric at Jimmie's Tree Service he agreed to meet me at our property to go over our needs. After driving an hour for our meeting he never showed up. Once I finally got through to ERIC he agreed on another meeting in a few days. Once again, I drove for an hour to meet him and again he never showed up nor even had the courtesy to call. I love these guys! Our yard needed some serious work. Huge overgrown cypress + very lge bird of paradise. Jimmie Jr came by the house and gave us a bid that worked in our budget. I needed to have tenting done so I was looking for a tree service company to trim a couple of bushes and remove a Yucca around my house. My neighbor referred me to Jimmie's Tree Service. Glad I called Jimmie Sr showed up within an hour got a call that the crew would come out the following day as scheduled and on time. My next door neighbor and I had two large trees removed. The crew was absolutely professional and friendly. They made quick work of our trees and it was amazing how they cut the large branches so they pretty much landed in a pile. They left our yards in great shape with no clean up necessary. He was able to get his team over to our place the very next day, and within an hour of his friendly and respectable team arriving, our overgrown patio was cleaned up like we had never seen it before! They were so efficient and got to work immediately, and we are so happy with the results. Fernando even provided some advice via text about what mulch to buy so as to repel mosquitoes and insects. As you can tell in the before and after pictures, the difference is night and day, and anything that was trimmed back like our roses will grow back even better. Our shrubs were often chopped in odd ways, as if the trimmers were run through them quickly and haphazardly. We eventually decided it was better to maintain our bushes and shrubs ourselves. The lawn mowing and edging are generally good, but we were really disappointed to find that the trunks of our young perimeter shrubs had been damaged. It seems that because the mower couldn't fit, an edge trimmer was used around the trunks, but without enough care, resulting in deep nicks to the thin bark. Another example of poor attention to detail.
