Great service and communication. I've worked with other tree companies and nothing comes close to the communication and work that I experience with Tony, mona, jimmie sr and the rest of their crew! We originally booked them for a smaller job at our aunt's house in long beach and loved their work and commitment, we ended using them for our own home. Amazing work and customer service! We just moved into a new house in Long Beach that needed to have the bougainvillea plants, which had been growing for years in the backyard, removed as they were leading to wood rot along the structure. Based on all the positive Yelp reviews I decided to try Jimmie's. I called the number listed on their website and because we hadn't closed on our house yet couldn't provide them access to do an in person estimate. They were kind enough to let me send a couple of photos of the backyard to their mobile phone and quickly wrote back with the quote. Within days after closing they were out at the house and within an hour had all of the old growth removed along with a few large tree branches in the front of the house. The 1st group has come to cut down the humongous tree in my parkway. There were about 7 men and a supervisor. One man cuts, other men maneuver the falls with a rope, other men picked up to grinder, and clean up. Job was done within an hour! Without any damaged to my hedge in front of it. Second group came for another day to grind the tree stump. They were on time and even early as expected. Grind the stump within an hour and cleaned up. Both group has done a superb job. This review is long overdue but I needed to leave one! I was recommended Jimmie's Tree Service by our gardener Scotty and I'm glad we reached out. Getting a quote the first time was quick and easy and the rate was competitive. We needed to have EIGHT, yes, EIGHT trees completely removed from our front yard without breaking the bank. Not only was Jimmie able to it, but they completely removed the stumps, cleaned up, and did it in a few hours! They arrived on a Wednesday morning and were gone by a little after lunch time. We did have some minor communication issues before service started (like we were not made aware that a quote was only good for 30 days. Jimmie had advised that we could just call him when we were ready to book our service) If you go past the 30 days, you will need someone to go out and REQUOTE you. No big deal, however, something to keep in mind. I'm not sure if the price changes if you get requoted as ours didn't, so again, just something to keep in mind. Also, we had to reschedule our service AFTER it had been booked and confirmed. Our original service date was Monday morning and we were advised a little after our appt time that they would need to reschedule for Wednesday. Again, not a deal breaker, but if your taking time off or anything like that, this could be an inconvenience. read more

We were very disappointed with this company. We had the owner come out for two reasons: (1) clear the trees around the chimney as they were a fire hazard if we wanted to use the chimney; and (2) clear out some trees that had overgrown in our backyard. First, they left two trees RIGHT NEXT TO THE CHIMNEY that they did not cut. Removed everything around it BUT THAT. Why? That was one of the main reasons we hired you! Second, we were clear with them in the pre-cutting meeting that the one tree in the backyard that had this really cool tree house in it should not be cut. The day of, they asked my wife again about whether the tree was staying put, and she said yes, the tree house tree is staying. Next thing we know, they cut the tree down! The guy there claimed that he asked her if the tree was going to be cut and my wife said yes to that question. At worst you're saying my wife is lying, at best you're saying there was a miscommunication. But even if that was true, wouldn't you have a further conversation with my wife about how low to cut the tree since it's interconnected with the tree house? How to cut around the tree house, etc.? That detailed conversation would have confirmed that we did NOT want that tree house tree cut down, something we specified twice. Part of why we bought the house was the tree house and that tree. Now they've topped the tree and got rid of a ton of shade for our backyard and essentially diminished the value of our home that WE JUST MOVED INTO. We were visibly upset about it but they did not do anything to make up for it. No reduction in bill, no offering to replace the tree, nothing. If you want someone who is going to just clear out all your trees, they can do a great job. The trees we did actually want removed got removed well. And their price was reasonable. But trees are a big part of a person's home and I would think you would want to be more careful about cutting someone's tree, especially one that is unique in that IT HAS A TREE HOUSE ATTACHED TO IT. They were cheaper than another service we looked into but the cost difference was NOT worth what they provided. If you use them, just be ABSOLUTELY CLEAR on what you want done and you should get it in writing. read more

At first, I really didn't want to have to pay to trim my trees, when I knew that I could do it myself. But, I kept hearing this voice in my head (ok, it was my wife) telling me that I'd probably drop branches and break stuff, fall off the ladder, or hack my arm off with the chainsaw.
