We came here by a suggestion from a friend. We're in Springfield for a short work project. Our anniversary just happened to fall into this time. We had the filets. Man they were incredible! Cooked perfectly and the flavor was so so delicious! The sides were awesome, and Paula our server made our visit truly special with her super bubbly personality. She was really really great. The food was amazing, the wife and i got the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection med rare with a perfect balance of salt and pepper, i also had green beans that were steamed and not boiled, with the best sweet potato you could ask for , i chose the salad bar instead of the house salads, the salad bar was fully load and fresh, no wilted greens here!!!!!! The desserts were all fantastic and quite rich. The server was quirky but managed our table of 10 with few mistakes and we ordered a lot of food and request. She was very good and did a great job. Had reservations and were seated promptly. We had the escargot as a starter, then I ordered the small (a generous 8 oz!) prime rib while hubby had the filet. We each had the salad bar, which was fresh and chilled. Everything was delicious, we will be back to try the desserts! read more

My husband and I have eaten at Jimm's numerous times, celebrating different occasions. We've always enjoyed their food, atmosphere and service. Tonight we celebrated our anniversary at Jimm's, however we were both disappointed. We both ordered the filet. The waitress kept mentioning how thick the filets were and that medium would be a good temperature to cook them at. When she brought them to our table, they did not look like filets at all. They were thin pieces and looked like normal sirloin steaks. My steak was very dry and overcooked, as was my husbands. My mashed potatoes were cold too. I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon and maybe not ever. Their salad bar is and will always the best in Springfield though!!! read more

Haven't been to Jimm's for a while and I told my wife, let's go to Jimm's for prime rib. We got there and had a round of drinks with my mother in law and then shortly afterward, we were seated. The waiter took the order and said that the prime rib was running a little rare and he would check back with us after a while but he never did. We ordered 3 prime rib dinners (check #279) medium rare and when they showed up, they were as close to raw as you could get and so tough you couldn't chew them and when the waiter did finally come back, we told him about it and also that we didn't get the wine that we ordered. He went and got the bill and the to go boxes, but didn't offer any assistance, like he was afraid to speak to the chef about it. We paid the bill, over $200 for the 3 of us and took our to go boxes and left. The next night, my wife tried to add a little more cooking time to the meat but it was still so tough that it was not edible. The experience was not good as the waiter acted offended and really copped an attitude with us after us politely voicing our disapproval. I told him that this really wasn't his fault as much as it was the chef's, but I would say that this was probably the worst prime rib I had ever had. read more

Don't get me wrong, this is one of the best places for food in Springfield. You won't be disappointed, but you're going to pay for it. Service was great. Another great dining experience at Jimm's. Tonight we had Heidi for our server and she was an excellent server. Our food was excellent and of course after our meal, we had the bread pudding, top of the line the best I have had anywhere. The entire serving staff was busy, busy, busy. The restaurant is always set at a very comfortable temperature. My wife and I just love Jimm's and frequent the restaurant whenever we can. The layout and ambiance of the restaurant is warm and comfortable. The service is absolutely top tier as well. One thing to highlight is that at the end of your meal when you have leftover they box up your food for you. As for the food, the first time we went I had never had a better meal in my life. The second time we went 7/21/2024 it was good but not great. I will come back for a third and final review of Jimm's and I am hoping it is much more like the first experience I had. Onion soup thumbs up Escargot, mussels, mushrooms are delicious Service was great. Filet mignon and sirlon was on point. We were in from out of town and searched for top steakhouses, and landed on Jimm's. We made a reservation the night before which was super easy. We arrived fairly early so we grabbed a couple seats at the bar for top notch service and drinks. We tried the smoked Old Fashioned, Paloma, and French Martini, all A+! Once we were seated we had great dish after great dish. We started with the stuffed mushroom caps which was a great app for 2. Then we each made a salad from the salad bar. When our entrees came out we were nearly full, but enjoyed them for sure! Pepper crusted & sauced NY strip--A-Mazing! It was cooked just right and the flavor was to die for. 12oz Prime Rib was cooked perfect and seasoned delicious. To top it off, we had Enya as our server and she was PERFECT! Would for sure recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty steak and excellent service. I had the KC strip in bourbon sauce and sweet potato and it was delicious, it is a sweeter sauce. Wife has peppered flank steak and it was amazing, probably what I'll order next time. Oh and the stuffed mushroom appetizer is the best I've every had. This place was way fancier than it looked on Yelp. With that being said, I'd be comfortable here in shorts, jeans or in dress pants and a button down shirt. The service was great, and the food was pretty darn good too. Their beer selection was limited, but it's got something for everyone. I had the Cigar City Hazy IPA and it was great. I had their fillet special and it was good. I seen reviews here that said it was nothing fantastic, but it was good and what do you expect for a $40 meal? It was probably the best $40 meal I've had in a long time. It was served with warm bread and a salad too, comon! Next trip to Springfield, will find me right here eating my $40 meal!! read more

Had the prime rib medium with sweet potato and salad bar. Server did not offer the sweet potato, luckily, I knew about it. A for the salad bar. The sweet potato was burnt, I was able to eat two bites. The prime rib was maybe lukewarm at best. The fat was hardly warmed. I had a hard time cutting it. It was chewy. I started to think about how long has this prime rib been sitting at this temperature, and then someone sliced a piece off and hardly warmed it for me... I only ate half. Of the small. we had a birthday celebration here tonight and while the service was great. the two steaks that were ordered were almost impossible to cut. they were not good and I had this happen on a previous visit also.
