We visited Jimmy D's for the first time after craving a good corned beef sandwich, and overall we were really happy with our experience. The restaurant itself is pretty basic -- mostly a bar atmosphere with a smaller dining area. Since we had our kids with us, we chose to sit in the dining section instead of the bar area. Our waitress was fast and friendly and went out of her way to get kids menus printed up so the kids could color. My husband ordered the Corned Beef Sandwich, and I got the Corned Beef Dinty Sandwich. We also split an order of curly fries. For the kids, we ordered the cheeseburger meals and a chicken tender meal. Everything came out quickly, and the food was really good. The sandwiches were huge! Oh God...I mean...oh God. Why isn't there a 10 star option on here?! Jimmy Dee's has been an absolute staple shot from a staple gun ever since I first had it. Every time I return to the Clinton Township area, I go here! Consistent, friendly, and mouth wateringly delicious! Now, let me preface, I cannot speak for the vast majority of their menu, but...if you ain't gettin their legendary corned beef...then you ain't doing it right!! It was a day like any other I had gone there. Friendly staff and a much loved sports bar environment smacking of the old mom and pop vibes you can come to expect from many local establishments. The Corned beef is STACKED! You definitely get what you paid for. Slather some horseradish on that puppy and you just got yourself a one way ticket to the gates of the divine. Stopped in for dinner. Saturdays are Corned Beef soup night. This soup is awesome. On this night we decided to buy a quart and bring it home. I was all set to get my Dinty Moore sandwich but I noticed sloppy joes. I really like sloppy Joes but my wife not at all. So I figured I wanted to order but I was torn between my usual and the special so I flipped a coin and the special won. Sloppy joes are my winner. I'm so glad they won. They were very good. Best part they were sloppy. They were prepared perfectly not soggy. Right portion of Joe to bun. The fries I had were regular fried they were good. I'm able to have Coke now. So I had one. We split a regular corned beef sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich was huge. I could only eat half of my half. The meat was really lean and piled high with two slices of cheese on grilled Rye bread. The onion rings were hot and crispy. All the servers were friendly. The restaurant was clean and brighter than typical bar. Only 4 stars because they charged $1.00 to cut the sandwich in half. Might have said that on the menu but I hadn't noticed. Been a while as we now live a good hour away in Oxford. But, when in Mt Clemens there is no better place than Jimmy Dee's for a HUGE Corn Beef/ Ruben sandwich. This was the case late yesterday afternoon. The four of, my brother and his wife and me with mine. Not only was our sandwiches done to our expectations, including the onion rings but service was great too. For us it was worth the drive and hope to be back sooner than later. read more

Excellent place to go eat and relax. Our friend told us to go check it out and I'm so glad we did. Our waitress, Antonia was very sweet and patient with my indecisions lol. We ordered drinks and carryouts. I ordered Fried Mushrooms for my mom and sampled a couple... perfect crispness. I also ordered the big pig sandwich (delicious) and side of AMAZING Mac n cheese. My friend ordered the Dinty corned beef sandwich that looked awesome. Even though we ordered the food to go I had to sample everything while finishing my cocktail. In for lunch with a few friends new to this property. Everything tastes as good as usual. Restaurant is clean and looks the same as it has been for a large number of years. LOL Customer service was amazing and there was a pretty good lunch crowd. Corned beef sandwiches were delish and large portioned which they are known for. Perch was yummy as well. A local gem. The service (our server was Lisa), the food, the drink, the ambiance makes this local gem shine. Every Wednesday and Saturday they serve the best soup in Macomb County, Cornedbeef/potato soup. Crazy delicious. Tonight we had a patty melt, fried perch, the soup, drinks and their equally delicious and famous crawfish etouffee. Their etouffee will make Louisiana proud but watch out there is a serious spike in that etouffee; you will want to dab your forhead as it will perspire. Didn't want the sandwich soggy there was coleslaw on it made the Bread SUCK the Corn beef no flavor,cold like lunch meat. wasn't very good. I gotta ask.. what happened? French onion soup was very good. The ribs had so much sauce on it. I had to wash it off. It's like somebody just popped the big poop on it. What I'm more mad about is the sampler appetizers. 15 bucks for cold mushrooms, cold cheese, overcooked, ravioli I understand, but there is no way you can cook all of them in the same basket at same time doesn't work. So I asked for cocktail sauce. Do me a favor somebody go through your sauces in the fridge there's mold in it and it. Nothing was day dotted. So I had to throw all the sauces away . Tried it a few years ago. Had the highly recommend lake perch. Was just mediocre. Have since given then another's try. It was excellent. Been back twice recently. Wasn't even hungry last time. Couldn't pass by without stopping. Had the 3 piece Lake perch basket. What a bargain for authentic lake perch. It's the real deal. Staff is very good. Will definitely be back.
