Found this spot on the way to Columbus. $3 beers and gut filling sandwiches. Someone should bottle the smell of smoky bbq. The new standard with fries should be hot malt vinegar as found at this spot! Lots of bbq sauces- sweet and spicy, Georgia mustard, and horseradish also. Loved the sweet and spicy on my smoked prime rib. My companion enjoyed the Mac daddy (cheese on Mac and cheese with pickled jalepenos) and sweet potato chips. They have a deal with a punch card if you eat all 15 sandwiches. They have a shirt, $25 gift card, and your name on the wall. My companion started his today. Looks like we'll

I have heard from some family members that Jimmy G's BBQ is out of this world good. I took Dad out today, and he decided to have some BBQ for lunch. Dad wanted the brisket sandwich and opted for fries instead of chips, and I ordered the 2 meats plate - choosing brisket and ribs along with baked beans and mac & cheese. Last month, I was in Houston, TX, and had the good fortune of dining at a couple of pit BBQ establishments. Both of these places were off the charts busy during the middle of the day, and the smoked meats were butter knife tender. I was hoping for a similar experience locally in NW Ohio. Unfortunately, that didn't happen for me. The brisket was somewhat dry & tough. The ribs did pull away from the bone, but they also were somewhat tough, in my opinion. The mac & cheese was very good, and the baked beans were also good. I tasted Dad's fries because he couldn't eat them all, and those were very good. With that being said, Jimmy G's does a great job on their side dishes, but the smoked meats didn't have that melt in your mouth texture compared to other pit BBQ eateries I have been to.

We did not care for the food, it wasn't bad or anything like that, I just don't care for a heavy smoky flavor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant nice and clean

The food is very good service is very excellent. The ambience is really cool. They have these hardwood tables that are clearcoated with designs on them. Driveways really easy to get into wheelchair accessible walk up to the counter order your food. Go sit down and bring it to you through your trash away in the trashcan, pretty simple

Found Jimmy G's on Yelp as we came through Freemont - great choice! Simple menu with all the right BBQ offerings - great sandwich options - wish we could have tried them all but we settled for the Reuben and the smoked prime rib - delicious fries and homemade chips - tasty coleslaw with vinegar based sauce instead of mayo - highly recommend Jimmy G's!!

When we order takeout via their app, it's kind of all over the place. We tend to keep it relatively simple and order their 4lb tray of chicken chunks with a couple of sides and some sauces. The first few times we did this, the chicken was super hot, fresh, and the tray was filled to the brim and well worth the money. However, subsequent visits have resulted in the chicken getting progressively cooler and lighter at pickup (while having to wait for them to complete the order, which makes no sense). Our last visit resulted in a call to the manager though. When the staff handed me the tray of chicken it felt really light, like insanely light and I mentioned it to the staff asking them specifically, "are you sure this is the right weight for this?" and they told me "the kitchen measures it" and then disappeared to the back. We took the tray straight home and threw it on our food scale after checking the calibration. With the tray itself, it came in at just under 2lbs! I called the location and spoke to the manager and indicated I was not pleased and that there's no way that weight loss from cooking should exceed 50%. The manager apologized and offered to put our name down for a free tray the next time we ordered -- however, when we attempted to take them up on the offer a few weeks later, they had no record of it. One of our family members ordered four (4) such 4lb trays for a get together not too long ago and was very disappointed to find the trays each less than half full. They had to scramble to come up with additional food as guests arrived given that they were now short on food. Sadly, we haven't been back to the location since. If it wasn't for that the steady decline in temperature and weight at pickup, we'd likely order from here on a pretty regular basis. It's a shame.

Menus are by cash register but not near entry door. This causes confusion for those waiting and those entering. Nice menu and urban atmosphere that was unexpected. From the second we walked in until we left, he kept staring at me. Not just the occasional glance, but repeatedly looking over with what felt like a really hostile expression. It got to the point where I couldn't stop noticing it, and it made the whole dinner awkward. I obviously can't say what he was thinking or why he was doing it, but it made me feel very unwelcome. The frustrating part is that everyone else was great. The hostess, our server, and the kitchen staff were all friendly and professional. They did a great job. Unfortunately, because of that experience, we won't be back. If you're queer, trans, or just don't want to feel like you're being watched through your entire meal, I'd choose somewhere else.
