What great BBQ!! I've lived in Texas for 15 years and this place taste just like Texas bbq!! It's the best I've had in Ohio.

I had been craving some BBQ for awhile. I unfortunately visited a different BBQ place where I ordered a half slab of ribs. When I got my food, I had exactly 3 bones of babyback ribs, with no aroma of smoke whatsoever! For $16!! Then I finally came to my senses and went to Jimmy G's. Thank goodness!! I got some ribs! Delicious, pull off the bone, smokey goodness! I also got the half chicken with a side of beans and cornbread. Th beans are so good with quite a portion of pulled pork in them. All of that for just over $35. I used the online ordering and pull up window. So easy! I could barely stand the drive home. I wanted to pull off the side of the road and just smash! Found this spot on the way to Columbus. $3 beers and gut filling sandwiches. Someone should bottle the smell of smoky bbq. The new standard with fries should be hot malt vinegar as found at this spot! Lots of bbq sauces- sweet and spicy, Georgia mustard, and horseradish also. Loved the sweet and spicy on my smoked prime rib. My companion enjoyed the Mac daddy (cheese on Mac and cheese with pickled jalepenos) and sweet potato chips. I got the three meat combo Togo. Staff were very friendly and offered a free fountain drink. I got brisket, the ribs, and 1/2 chicken. My sides were coleslaw and a baked potato. The coleslaw was great, can't say anything about the baked potato, it was way overcooked and wet. The ribs were fall off the bone and amazing, the chicken was very chewy and not recommended I was not happy with the brisket because I was expecting slices and more fat and juicy and instead I got what more looked like burnt ends and very very dry. I can't say I will return anytime soon, I also got two slices of cornbread with butter and I was happy with that and the drink. I find it hard to mess up bbq but they did so sad. Oh well I'll keep my eye out for more bbq options. read more

I have heard from some family members that Jimmy G's BBQ is out of this world good. I took Dad out today, and he decided to have some BBQ for lunch. Dad wanted the brisket sandwich and opted for fries instead of chips, and I ordered the 2 meats plate - choosing brisket and ribs along with baked beans and mac & cheese. Last month, I was in Houston, TX, and had the good fortune of dining at a couple of pit BBQ establishments. Both of these places were off the charts busy during the middle of the day, and the smoked meats were butter knife tender. I was hoping for a similar experience locally in NW Ohio. Unfortunately, that didn't happen for me. The brisket was somewhat dry & tough. The ribs did pull away from the bone, but they also were somewhat tough, in my opinion. The mac & cheese was very good, and the baked beans were also good. I tasted Dad's fries because he couldn't eat them all, and those were very good. With that being said, Jimmy G's does a great job on their side dishes, but the smoked meats didn't have that melt in your mouth texture compared to other pit BBQ eateries I have been to. read more

Ribs were 50/50 meat/fat. Pulled pork sandwich had to be cut on the plate due to the amount of fat that ran out of the sandwich if hand held. Mac's were excellent! Servers were excellent! read more

This is one of the best BBQ restaurants at which I've ever eaten. The staff are really friendly, the restaurant makes everything fresh (one can tell) and the food is excellent. The decor is rustic BBQ pit style restaurant, which is both suitable and tastefully done without being overdone. They also have a food truck, which helped support GOBA in 2025. And, the restrooms are very clean and well kept. Highly recommended; you likely won't find better BBQ in Kansas City. read more

Modern BBQ joint that feeds the whole family. They've got basic BBQ and sides. Also have a long list of gourmet sandwiches built from BBQ, sides, sauces (e.g., pesto aioli), and assorted rolls. Also a kids menu and chicken bite, i.e., nuggets. Diet Mt Dew on the fountain, happy dance. Variety of BBQ sauces in a fridge so you can make your BBQ/sandwich as wet as you want it. Sandwiches come with complementary seasoned chips which are tasty. Only bad I can say is that they have too many choices and things to try, it would take dozens of visits to figure out my favorites, and the driveway/parking lot is a bit squirrelly but once you in back easy enough. read more

I was very disappointed in our carry out dinner last night. The ribs & baked beans were delicious, but everything else was not good. The brisket was overcooked & dry cubes of meat. The smoked wings were pretty much inedible. The skin was so tough we had to peel it off and the chicken was very dry. We were also unhappy with the Mac n cheese. It had barely any cheese (half of the noodles were completely plain) and there was no seasoning. We were really looking forward to a delicious dinner but we ended up not eating most of it. Holy Molly, what a cow! Can't believe my son has been working in Fremont for 3 years now and just introduced me to this place today. We came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and both ordered the Philly cheese steak. The sandwich was huge. Unbelievably cheesy. The best part was the meat, very well done with a nice smoke taste. It also came with their house chips which were very good. Had a cup of the corn chowder as well, which was hot and tasty, fantastic. Can't wait to come back and try more on the menu. read more

My husband and I went here to meet a friend we hadn't seen in a long time. I ordered the pick three meats (brisket, ribs, and sausage) with two sides (macaroni and cheese and fries). My husband ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and housemade chips and my friend ordered the Philly cheesesteak with macaroni and cheese. At this restaurant, you order at the cash register and they bring you your food. You get your own silverware, refills, and sauces. Everything looked amazing and my husband and our friend loved everything they had. I was happy with what I had, but I felt it wasn't good enough to give a 5-star to. The sausage was great with nice flavor and seasoning. The ribs were a little tough and had a lot of cartilage. They also felt under seasoned. The brisket was good but also felt under seasoned. Same with the macaroni and cheese. The fries and chips were on point. We were here for a while so I got the coconut cream pie which was lovely. If you live in the area, I'd recommend going here. read more

The parking lot is kind of odd and irritating, but the food was very good, and there are plenty of options to choose from. I do plan on eating from here again in the future. This is some really good BBQ! I sampled the bacon, smoked ham, pulled pork, and smoked sausage and it was all very good on its own, but the gourmet sandwiches are where it's it! I've had BBQ all over the South and the sandwiches at Jimmy G's are of that same caliber. I was just passing through Fremont & found Jimmy G's on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. When I mentioned it was my first visit, both the employees and customers started making recommendations and answering my questions which I loved. I ordered the Three Little Pigs sandwich with a side of Mac n Cheese and I was so happy with my meal that I ordered a second meal for my lunch the next day and I called my family to see if they wanted some BBQ, too. The sandwich had great flavor and a very generous portion of meat, but I really loved the macaroni and cheese. I'm not sure what the seasoning was, but I enjoyed it. Was in town visiting and about to leave when I looked upon Yelp and discovered this BBQ place close by so of course I had to swing over and grab food to eat later! Staff was friendly and patient while I decided what goods to grab up for a tasting later. The menu is a little overwhelming with all of the options so I decided to go with the basics instead of the sandwiches. (Tip: if you check in through Yelp you get a free small fry with your sandwich). *1/2 Slab of Sauced Ribs $11 - Good. Not dry but not juicy. Actually enjoyed this the best reheated in the oven the next day and dipped in more sauce. *Pick Two Combo: Pulled Pork, Brisket, Mac & Cheese, and Baked Beans $16 - Disappointed that they serve the brisket all chopped up instead of in slices, but whateves. Meat was okay, no real opinion, but sauce did kick the taste up a notch. Mac & cheese was okay, a hearty side. The baked beans contained meat and a lovely smokey flavor, they were really good! *Side of Coleslaw $2.50 - made with a slightly sweet vinegar sauce, went perfectly with the BBQ. *Cornbread 50¢ - Soft and tasty. They let me get this instead of a drink with the combo. *Homemade BBQ Potato Chips $1 - I don't normally eat chips, but I devoured this on the ride home! Ask for a side of their pesto aioli to dip them in, sooo good! They also have a nice assortment of various sauces, I personally enjoyed the Savannah Sweet and the Cowboy BBQ the best. Portions I think were good sized; I know I got three large "I'm gonna have to take a nap after this" meals out of my order. While Fremont is a good hour fifteen from me, I could see myself eventually making my way out here again for one more taste of that BBQ! read more

Now as BBQ places goes this is one of my favorites. There is not anything I would avoid here as everything is a masterpiece of art and love. My favorite is defiantly the Three Little Pigs. This has a perfect blend of ham, brisket and bacon along with Swiss cheese and BBQ. The homemade fries are perfectly seasoned and always warm. The friendliness of Jimmy G's is also a huge blessing. From the staff to the owner this family business without question places value in their patrons. I had a taste for a good burger, and beer, and saw this place on Google Maps. I was two blocks away, and BBQ sounded really great! Had the Brisket Sub, with baked beans, and a bottle of Miller Lite. I've had this once before and it was good but for whatever reason I had it last summer and bought like $60 worth and none of us could eat it because it was so salty!!
