It smells wonderful when walking in and everyone is very friendly. Got seated right away. Place looked very clean. We ordered the appetizer of creamed corn queso dip and chips. That was brought out pretty quickly and was pretty good. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and a large side of beans, and a half rack of ribs with slaw and potato salad. A different girl other than our server brought out the food. The sandwich and fries were on one tray and the beans were on another. She asked who got the sandwich, and I pointed to my husband. So she set it down in front of him, and then set the tray with the beans on it in front of me and walked away. I slid them over to my husband and kinda looked at him with a puzzled expression. I thought, no big deal, someone will be back with my food. So he started eating and I took a couple of his fries while I waited. The sandwich had a good portion of meat on it and he said it was pretty good. The fries were hot and crispy and also good. The beans were in a little paper boat that got pretty soggy from the beans and kinda spread all over the tray which had a piece of paper on it, so that got pretty soggy too. Looked like maybe a cup of beans, for $4. He said they were so-so. He started eating and I waited. After he had eaten about half of his meal, our server came over and asked how everything was. I said, I wouldn't know since I didn't have any food. She apologized and said that she would go to the kitchen to check. She came back a few minutes later and said that they were just pulling them out and cutting the ribs and they would be out momentarily. When she brought them, there were exactly 3 bones of ribs. That is a half rack? For $15.99? Okay. I tried the potato salad. It tasted like straight mustard as the dressing. I use mustard in my potato salad, but it should be a compliment to the taste, you shouldn't just taste mustard. The potato chunks in it were kind of a rubbery texture, like canned potatoes. On to the slaw, it was not something that I wanted to finish, but that was just my taste buds. The ribs were lukewarm, which I expected them to be hot since they were "just pulling them out". They were pretty small and tasted ok. I was so disappointed all the way around. Took 2 bites of each of the sides and ate 1 rib, which was mostly bone. Didn't take it home, since I knew I wouldn't eat it. Would not make the drive there to eat again. The bill was almost $60, for food that half of it was inedible. Usually when brisket is smoked properly and you pick up a slice, it will bend with the juices dripping. This was not the case at Smokehouse 734. The brisket portion was 2 slices that barely covered a slice of bread. My serving of ribs still had the silver skin attached and had to work to get the meat off the bone - not able to pull the bone out of the meat. Ribs were a tad bit warmer than the brisket, but definitely not fresh off the smoker by any means. Cornbread was a bit dry (crumbly) but had a decent flavor. With all this said, probably the best part of my meal was the baked sweet potato at the ala carte price of $4.99. My search for a legit BBQ restaurant in NW Ohio / SE Michigan continues...

The menu is enormous and the food and sauce combos are endless. We came in eight deep, my only complaint is not having enough large tables. If one person gets hot pot, everyone has to get hot pot. If you are going to make everyone at the table pay for hot pot, I think it's only fair to have enough hot plates for everyone at that table. I didn't even want hot pot, I just wanted the Korean barbecue portion, but I still had to pay the increased price. I get the concept, but if you are sitting at a table with six burners and there are eight people, it's a little ridiculous to make all eight of us pay for hot pot if we opt not to order broth and there's not even away for us to make a hot pot. We ordered a lot of food! There were a ton of appetizers, hot pots, and multiple rounds of ordering meats and vegetables. The staff stayed on top of it, we had our drinks refilled regularly, and we never had an empty plate. Prior to leaving, we all ordered bubble tea. This was not my first time here, but this was my first time coming with a group so large. In this instance, I didn't mind because the service truly was exceptional, but watch out for the gratuity that is added by the restaurant. Because it was a large table, they added automatic gratuity at 18 or 20% I can't remember which to be honest. I went to the podium and ordered my bubble tea to go and paid my bill. Don't get me started on why we need to aggressively tip wait staff) As I was walking out, I looked down and realized I paid $62 for lunch! No alcoholic drinks, did not have a soft drink with my meal. Just korean bbq and a water plus my six dollar bubble tea to go. I figured someone else else's drinks or another person's check got added to mine. Nope! That's when I saw they had already added the automatic gratuity. So in addition to the automatically added gratuity, I paid 20% above that. Again, the weight staff were exceptional and we came in with eight people at 11:30 in the morning the minute the doors opened on a Sunday. I just want other people to be aware, not everybody has as much of a discretionary budget as I am unfortunate to have. When I checked into other people in my party suffered the same mistake.
