I had tried to make a reservation for a party of two, but was told they only take reservations for larger groups. I was advised to arrive between 5pm-5:30pm on a Saturday evening to avoid a wait. We arrived at 5:30pm and were promptly seated. The ambiance here is very casual and comfortable. Our server promptly came by to take our drink orders and give us menus. We were also provided with complimentary biscuits that were very good, though not as warm as we would have liked. I ordered the honey-BBQ salmon with green beans and mac 'n cheese. My friend ordered a burger. Food was served in an appropriate amount of time. My salmon was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The green beans were plentiful and deliciously fresh. The macaroni and cheese was a bit disappointing but not bad. It came in a small container and all I could see initially was a cream sauce; once I put my fork in, I discovered the macaroni. We had a nice evening and service was casually excellent- which is the vibe of the restaurant. I would definitely return and recommend Shorty's True American Roadhouse!

The biscuits here well just bite into a pillow same effect. The sides are plain in taste but I will say the ribs are worth the drive. They have a nice smoke flavor and a lite bark but tender.Their brisket a little bit better than last time so it gets a 2. The bake beans are a must taste they are awesome. That is all I definitely know Bar B Q. Chief SAMA C yeah you think you know BAR B Q but you don't ;))(

" more cowbell" But they were out of so much on a Sunday at 6 PM First of all, checked my gift card before I came into the store and had a $25 balance. When I get inside, it is packed, and guy working the register can't seem to get it to work so I just decided to pay. I ordered ribs, they're out! I ordered chicken... Out of that too. I ended up getting a sandwich. I would've never ordered Pryor, but I am glad I did. You can tell they were out of a lot of meats, because the baked beans I got were pretty much a bunch of beans, floating and barbecue sauce and not even very many beans at all The mac & cheese was decent, but nothing to write home about. I had to add a decent amount of salt and pepper. But waiting in line for 20 minutes for quick order food just to find out almost all of it was gone is a bit ridiculous It's pretty unorganized and chaotic The condiment station look like it has been ransacked, so I ended up for going any pickles or onions due to fear of some weird foodborne illness The whole experience is just a bit lacking. I can pay less money and go down the street and be waited on and have a cleaner atmosphere.

There is plenty of seating for small and large groups. There's a place to get your drink and grab some sauce from a variety of options. Our food came out quickly and portions were of good size. The Nashville hot chicken was dusted with some seasoning. It was not hot and quite frankly i couldn't taste the seasoning. The size was good and the chicken tasted good after I added some sauce. The nachos were delicious and full of flavor. The baked beans were solid as was the mac n cheese. And I had to get the hush puppies and they didn't disappoint.

They offer so many delicious sauces; my favorite was the coffee and the white. Our server was so friendly and guided us through the menu. The BBQ Solit is meant to be shared: a full grilled andouille sausage, split and served in a bed of corkscrew Mac n cheese, topped with baked beans, pulled pork, brisket, coleslaw, tomatoes and sauced with BBQ of your choice. The burnt ends were nicely cooked and soft yet well done. The smells are wonderful. I will be back to try more off the menu.

Menu looked decent with various food choices, full bar, numerous tvs playing different things; so we thought a good food experience was in the making. We ordered ribs (1/3 rack) with a half salad $18.98 and the rib combo with brisket and baked sweet potato $26.98. A couple years ago, I was in the Houston TX area for a couple months and I was introduced to Texas BBQ - I fell in love with a particular BBQ restaurant in Spring TX. Meat there is always, juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender and is only open until they run out of BBQ meats for the day (which usually happens on a daily basis). Sadly, Smokehouse 734 didn't even come close on the expectations I had for good BBQ in the Toledo area. The Brisket didn't even look like it was smoked - no bark on the meat at all, no truly define smoke ring, and the fat cap / meat was almost cool to the touch. Usually when brisket is smoked properly and you pick up a slice, it will bend with the juices dripping. This was not the case at Smokehouse 734. The brisket portion was 2 slices that barely covered a slice of bread. My serving of ribs still had the silver skin attached and had to work to get the meat off the bone - not able to pull the bone out of the meat. Ribs were a tad bit warmer than the brisket, but definitely not fresh off the smoker by any means. Cornbread was a bit dry (crumbly) but had a decent flavor. With all this said, probably the best part of my meal was the baked sweet potato at the ala carte price of $4.99. My search for a legit BBQ restaurant in NW Ohio / SE Michigan continues...
