I have been waiting for soooo long for a JJ to open near me. I just finally ordered a sandwich from this one. Placed my order online at 4:08. Got a call from the delivery guy at 4:15 saying he was outside (I live in a secure building). Went outside to meet him... and he was on his bike. So they made my sandwich and biked it to me in 7 minutes. Impressive! I can't even drive there and find parking in 7 minutes. My goodness the type of people that the hire here are just very inept and slow witted and simply unhelpful. They were having issues with their online ordering when I've decided to try it. They ended up charging my card and they asked me if they wanted to reorder so they can recharge it again. A large variety of delicious sandwiches to choose from with extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff to help you with your meal decision. The patio is a great area for a large group to gather and enjoy the deliciousness. The food is prepared fast and the customer service is some of the best I've received in a long time. Bad experience the sandwich was way too bready. There was only 2 small slices of roast beef, they charge extra for cheese, and no red onions like I asked. So I received white onions instead without them even saying anything, and no cheese, I wasn't even asked if I wanted it ? So messed up, but I think the worst part is that, they have no mustard on tap as I was given little packets of mustard for my sandwich ? Overall the sandwich was not terrible, it was just lacking in several other things I could think of. I am truly disappointed in this place. read more

Don't go. The veggies are sad, the meat portion is not very generous, and it's more expensive then subway. Don't waste your time here. Go to togos or subway. I will say though, I did like the white sandwich bread. It's plain and soft. Nothing too special, but personally l liked it. I don't think I will be coming back here. Like all other JJ's the sandwiches are great and fast! But this location rocks because of the free parking!! That's right, free parking in LB. you can park on the street in front for 2 hours or JJ will validate your parking for the lot next door. Great place for a fat and tasty sandwich! read more

I ordered from them all the time for lunch, I get the same sandwich every time #12. I have had some hit and misses with these sandwiches, because not the same person makes the sandwiches. Sometimes I receive my sandwich as ordered and sometimes I receive my sandwich not by the specific order. Since I order over the telephone and have it delivered to the office, I don't even waste my time calling, I just hope the next time, the "right" person is doing my sandwich. Decided to try this place as it is down the street from my job, I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I ordered a #5 "Vito", with onions, mustard, tomatoes, peppers, the sauces and oregano. My sandwich was mediocre at best. Can't say it really tasted like anything not to mention it was dry. Double checked to see if the "sauces" were included in the sandwich and the bread seemed to have some type of oil but apparently not enough and apparently the mustard was lacking as well even though it was mentioned on the receipt. I mean you can't really go wrong with a sandwich but I've made myself better tasting sandwiches than this at home. Service also mediocre l, I told the cashier it was my first time and she did not bother walking me through the menu or to even mention that I had an option of asking for a pickle for an extra charge.. however the jalapeño chips were good. Recently discovered how amazingly delicious and fresh this place is the first location I went to was located in Riverside and I got a "little John" for $3.00 out the door the value and quality was excellent. However, I was in Long Beach (daily due to uber driving) and had to stop in to give it a try once again as I am always referring passengers and fellow drivers to restaurants etc. When I find "great buys." Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in this location. To start the service wasn't horrible but didn't feel very welcoming either. I was the only one in line and the young man at the register smiled a little and that was ok. I watched as two people prepared my sandwich ( The Turkey Little John). After the guy added light mayo to the bread, a young lady took over and started to add the vegetables and ingredients I requested (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and oregano). She placed two small slices of roma tomato on my sandwich along with a few slices of pickle. To my surprise, she then remove them stacked them and cut them in half and place them back on the sandwich. I couldn't believe it.. I thought "where they do that at..." Jimmy John's Downtown Long Beach. I had to ask for more shredded lettuce as she only added a few pieces and decided not to question what she did with the tomato and pickles. I figure I just won't return or suggest this location to anyone else. If this method of preparing sandwiches is the owners training policy to stretch ingredients, it's a sad day in the sandwich business! SMH. read more

Jimmy Johns misses the mark! As a first time customer, I was greated by a cashier that pointed up to the menu, yet couldn't clearly specify the difference between the 8" sandwich and the club sandwich for $7.49. I was craving freshly sliced Italian deli meats, wholesome veggies and an artisan baked roll to encase it all. They advertise on their umbrellas on their cramped outdoor patio that all of their sandwiches are made by "Momma Approved Sandwich Making Maestros"; however when it came time to decide between the Vito 8in sub or the #9 Italian Club, of course I was up sold the larger.."just because". One of the sandwich makers explained that the difference with the club was that I could choose two slices of wheat bread or the roll. The club sized sandwiches include lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, and the deli meats along with peppers upon request. Still confused and getting hungrier by the minute, I decided to pay $8.16 for a great sandwich. However once I opened up the wrapper, I noticed that the bread was the same roll as the 8", that my tomatoes were hiding under the meat, and in the end I was still confused about why I had just dropped two dollars more for the Italian Club. Oh and don't forget the pickle: which other restaurant chains will gladly provide to you upon request: at Jimmy Johns it's $1.79 for a whole spear pickle. I'm sure it's good though. As for cleanliness, there was very little foot traffic and it was after noon time so there's no issue there apart from the supply order that was delivered right through the main door and product to be sold to customers basking under the May sunlight. Was it just timing as far as the supply delivery was concerned: yes, as for proper delivery and product knowledge by the cashier and sandwich maestros: NO. Upon consuming my $8.16 sandwich an employee asked me how I liked my food. I expressed the fact that I was still confused between the Vito and the Italian Night club sandwich: to which he responded, "it's the portion size of the ham." Hmmm..no one seemed to mention that when ordering, nor is it clearly delineated on the menu. I wish I knew I was paying $2 extra for the ham... Will I return? Not likely. The menu is limited, The Momma approved sandwich making maestros can make food for other customers instead. With two other sandwich shops right around the corner, Jimmy Johns aims its arrow and misses the spot entirely. read more

Tried it once but won't do it again. Sandwiches were not prepared as requested. The BLT had bacon that was cold and limp as though it had been made far ahead of the order. The bread seemed stale, and the shredded lettuce too wet. They were delivered fast - but were neither tasty nor appealing. read more
