The sandwich was totally uninspired. The bread their advertising brags about baking on site has no flavor. Turkey, same: No flavor. Bacon good, but portion so little, I had to flip the turkey just to find it. Mayo okay. Mayo is mayo. Could not taste mustard. Guess it wasn't on there. There were a very few string wide pieces of lettuce! Tomatos almost as skimpy. All together, I would say this sandwich was like a gas-station pre-prepared sandwich and was worth about half what I paid: Should have been $4, not $8. I would not return to this or any other Jimmy John's. You can get something with more meat, more flavor, and cheaper at Harris Teeter deli counter for $6. I love Jimmy Johns. Compared to subway or firehouse... it's amazing. I have been to this location a few times but am surprised to see that I haven't written a review! We came here before closing. The two men working were extremely friendly and patient. I never know what I want. I always think I do, them I walk in and it all goes out the window lol. I ordered a #12 with no tomatoes and no cucumbers but added pickles and onions. My husband ordered a #1 the way it comes. Food was prepared quickly. Fully loaded. I love the bread!!! I'm definitely a fan of the double J! I usually go to the JJ near my office in the university area, but I got to hit up the Matthews location after running some errands on an off day. I must have missed the lunch rush, but I walked in, ordered and was out of there in 5 min. Though this location is missing the noise and energy of the other locations I am used to, the sandwich was good and what I was expected and they were very proficient in getting me on my way to a full belly and back to the office. Location didn't really have a lot of tables to sit down and enjoy the awesomeness of JJ's, but there were enough. The shopping center is fairly busy so parking looks to be tight. We drove to jimmy johns and I ordered a beach club with mustard and it comes with avocado spread. He put a dime sized drop of each in the middle of the sub. My dad ordered a tuna sub with added onion and tomato. They didn't put either on it. We didn't notice until we drove 6 miles home... My dad called back to complain and while he was a little bit frustrated and rude the managers response was you don't have to be a smart a$ about it just drive back and get another if you need to... It's like this staff doesn't listen or understand at all what is ordered. You can ask multiple times for the same thing and they will still ignore the request. This is how a sandwich shop should be run. By the time I finished paying and walked down the line to get my drink both of my sandwiches were ready. On top of that, all the people working seem to enjoy their job, unlike if you go to subway or somewhere else where it seems like they hate their lives. Jimmy John's always has excellent food however I'm tired of going into restaurants and seeing people preparing my food with the mask on but not covering their nose. the person who made my salmon did not have it over a nose and when I brought up to her attention she seemed offended. I went to the Jimmy John's in Matthews, NC at Sycamore Commons and I don't believe I will be back. When I ordered my food I knew that I had a free sandwich from the Jimmy John's rewards and the young man running the register said sure and he gave me one of the sandwiches for free. I then heard the manager tell the employee that he doesn't give free sandwiches to anyone even with the points he only allows 50% because it cuts into the store profits. I didn't say anything to the manager but when I asked for 2 small containers of oil and vinegar he said no, you can have 1 it cost the store too much money to give out the containers, didn't I know that there was high inflation. I did get the free sandwich based upon the rewards points because the cashier had already completed the transaction. I have no doubt in my mind that if he hadn't completed the transaction I would not have gotten my sandwich for free as the Jimmy John's point system says. With all that being said I feel like the customer service at this location is terrible and the manager that was on duty was being a jerk with his comments and the way he said it was very snide and condescending. So this will be my last visit here, I hope the owner reads this and realizes that his employees attitudes will end up costing him/her customers money and profits. read more

Do not order delivery from this place. The driver's bring your orders to the wrong address. You have to call the store and then the driver calls you and lies about delivering your order. My neighbor called me from two buildings down that they got my order. We aren't even in the same building number. The store doesn't give refunds. They only give store credit but let me ask you; would you want store credit to buy more from them when you didn't get you order? No. This isn't the first time it's happened. We ordered back in July and the same thing happened. Save yourself the aggravation and get sandwiches from another store. read more

Jimmy John's is great for a quick meal. I stopped in here while I was out running errands one day. This location is tucked in the strip in the corner. This particular location when I stopped in seems a little less "friendly" than other locations that I have visited. Isn't that part of their whole corporate deal? Greet you when you walk in and leave. Also, while I was here two of the workers were doing what seemed like working on the schedule in a booth. Don't you have an office space in the back to do that? Where do I begin? I found out about Jimmy Johns in my college town, open real late was perfect for those late night cravings but you wanted something a bit more healthy than McDonald's or Cookout. The price is good, you can get a sub for around 5 dollars. The main thing I like about JJ is that they make it super fast. One time I ordered and just finished paying and my sub was already ready! I made up my mind not to return to this one, but I was on my way home last night and I went to this one because it was closer to me. Well I really shouldn't have, the experience that I had a few days before this one can't compare to what I experienced last night. I went in around 8:30 or so ordered my food, the guy who was operating the cash register wasn't paying attention him and the one that was actually making the sandwiches were busy playing name that tune from the loud music playing and reliving their dreams of playing in the NBA with shooting baskets in the trash can with paper. Everything I ordered I didn't get, I clearly didn't ask for a cookie, and guess what I was charged for it when I realized that I let the guy no and he was like well ok never said well let me take care of that charge for you or anything. So the one making the food said well ma'am I will give you what you asked for and the cookie to, I said sure what ever. Being that you can't actually see them make your food you really don't realize what's going on, and you can't see the receipt until you get your food by then you are out the door and that's it. Well I got home ready to eat because I was starving and I got a breadless sandwich. Exciting I know, but if I wanted a salad I would have ordered one and being that salads aren't a part of their menu well then guess what that's not what I ordered. I was really upset being that they really wasn't paying attention to me and now I'm super hunger and they were closed by the time I got home. So I did complain to the company and I got an apology and that was about it. Not a oh we are so sorry ma'am bring that food back and we will replace it or give you your money back nothing like that. So I gave it a 1 star because you can't go any lower than that. Believe it or not I really do like the food, but customer service should be just as great. I will not go back.
