This was my 2nd time eating at this restaurant. The first time, over a year ago, the food was pretty warm, even considering the drive from the restaurant to my daughter's house about 10 minutes away. That visit, I got a burger not on the menu now, don't remember the name, but was spicy. If I based my opinion solely on visit 2, I wouldn't give them 2 starts, I'd give them a negative rating. My daughter had outpatient surgery, and wanted a burger. She had recently gotten food at this location and remembered it being good. But yesterday? Yesterday, it was horrible. Since the burgers are "smashed", I was gotten a double cheeseburger. I don't know what kind of sauce was put on it, but it left a taste in my mouth that only brushing my teeth helped. My burger was half out of the bun, the bun was crushed, the meat was slightly chewy, so I took one patty off. This food is expensive, and there are no combos. Since I didn't want a soft drink, I got the double burger (again, a hot mess) and fries. The order was placed, and when my daughter's husband arrived to get it, it was already sitting. Obviously, it was almost cold. When I visit this area, I'm treated by my daughter and her husband, and normally, I'm pleased. Sorry to say that this visit has totally turned me off to ever returning to ANY Shake Shack. I was starving, since we had skipped breakfast, but I regret not just heating up the leftover Chinese from Tuesday night. Avoid, avoid, avoid! read more

We like shake shack! Have passed them by many times, but finally went in to see what it is about. Self order from a computer screen. Menus are posted above the machines, so come in and study it so you will know how to order. the do have decent milk shakes ($5.99, whipped cream add $.49 and added malt is an additional $.49) and a variety of beverages. You have a number to put on your table and your order will be delivered to your table. It is roomy, with lots of tables inside and outside. There will be a lot of people moving about and especially children that are not attended by their lax parents. Burgers are tailor-able. A Smoke Shack is $8.49 and a basic burger is $6.49. read more

I took a skinny girl's advice and only ordered a single burger when my gut told me to order the double. I definitely won't make that mistake again. The patty's are very thin so you need two of them to get a good balanced bite. We loved the chicken sandwich! The fries are not seasoned at all which was a bummer so we just added salt ourselves. This is truly the perfect burger...no joke. The patti has a nice crust on the outside and is an absolute juice bomb on the inside. The bun is perfect and doesn't interfere. I can't find a burger as good as this. The fries are frozen crinkle cut style- very good despite being frozen because it's fried totally correctly- nice crisp on the outside, soft and potatoey on the inside. The chicken is also very good. SS's attention to detail is what makes them great. The only bad thing is the cost- pretty expensive. But you do get what you pay for....If I were to eat one last burger, this would be it. read more

This is a busy location. They are pretty organized. The prices are steep for basic burger and fries. Wait is about 10-15 minutes for food. I love the seasonal milkshakes. Chaos sums up what I felt my experience has been when visiting Shake Shack. When placing my order the main thing I noticed was how tightly designed the kitchen was where it looked like everyone was stacked on top of each other. As I placed my order the person taking the order seemed to be not listening and just randomly tapping the compute screen. Then when my food was ready my order appeared on the counter and no one was really there to help or make sure it was right, which is wasn't. I never really had much confidence that the food was going to come out correct. We ordered a couple of burgers and some fries with cheese and chili. Everything was good, not great but good. Burgers are kind of small but they tasted really good. The restaurant is pretty busy to include the seating area. I lucked out and got a seat quickly but some people had to walk around for a few minutes before another table cleared. read more

We came here for an early sunday lunch and I was shocked that there was only one person taking orders while there was a solid 20 people waiting in line. I was even more disappointed when I tried to order a hot dog and they were out of it! We ordered and sat down. Someone calls your name and you pick up your food. We got a few burgers and fries and a order of chicken nuggets. The nuggets were good but greasy. We ordered the 10 piece and was a little annoyed the sauce they gave us was less than half full. I went to go ask for mustard and they said they were out of mustard. Seriously? How can a burger place be out of mustard. Go to the grocery store next door and get a few bottles. Enjoyed the meal here, the burgers were small but delicious; I like how the patty is thin and it tasted fresh. Because the burgers are so small I needed two to feel satisfied. I ordered: ShackBurger ($5.99), Smoke Shack (7.69), French Fries (3.09), Large fountain drink ($3.49), & a Chocolate Churro Shake (6.29) = for a grand total of $28.74. They do not offer combos/meals, so everything is completely separate. As you can see, the price adds up pretty quickly. I do feel this is expensive for a burger joint. The chocolate churro shake wasn't my cup of tea. It was just too much which was unfortunate because of how much I paid for it. Overall my meal/experience was good. I love Shake Shack. I stopped in on my way home from South Carolina. There was plenty of parking in the shopping center. It was a beautiful day so I parked far and did a bit of a walk. The workers were very friendly. I have the app and for some reason it signed me out. I asked a worker for the best way to get the rewards linked to my account. The guy working notified me that Shake Shack doesn't have a rewards system. I did not realize that! Shake Shack please make that a thing! I ordered a ShackBurger add bacon and cheese fries. I was so full from my cheese fries that I couldn't finish my burger so I took it home. It reheated just fine after being refrigerated the next day. We sat inside as we waited for our food to finish. We didn't realize that they would bring the food outside. The wait wasn't long. After our food was brought to us we went and sat on the outdoor area since it was a beautiful day. There was plenty of tables and seating. The surrounding area was nice. We were seated by the park/playground area. I love the area and my food was very yummy so I'd definitely revisit! read more

Ci still remember when the first Shake Shack open in Charlotte, you have wait about 45 mins to get your order. Fast forward to now, Chatlotte has three locations. I went on a Friday afternoon during lunch, no one was at the indoor dining area and only one couple was outside. It is easy to see How this place has slow down that much. The food was good, but I had better Shake Shack food, for some reason I still thinks the New York location was better. The burger tasted good just not the best Burger I ever had. How difficult would it be to at least offer a cheddar alternative? The fries are nothing special. They appear to be the krinkle cut variety found in your grocer's frozen food case. They were piping hot however. The shake was delicious but no better than Steak n' Shake's or Burger 21's, and at $5?! C'mon man! Service was adequate and the place was clean yet somewhat sterile in atmosphere. Overall, my meal was good but with the plethora of comparable burger joints in Charlotte, this place just doesn't stand out. My friend wanted to check this place out so I figured why not! I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich- extra spicy with fries. The sandwich was pretty good, the spice level wasn't as much as I had hoped for, so I was left wanting more. The reason why I am giving three stars is because the fries tasted like cardboard. I'm not sure if it was not a fresh batch, or what was going on that evening- however they went straight to the bin. I am a lover of cheeseburgers and was thrilled to learn that Charlotte was getting a Shake Shack. I live in Charleston now so I try to swing by for a burger and fries (and cheese sauce) every time I'm home. The burgers are grilled beautifully. The bun is delicate but still holds up to the grease of the burger and the juice from any toppings. The lettuce and tomato always taste fresh and not slimy like some other burger joints. I never really knew how much I love crinkle cuts fries until my first visit at Shake Shack. They are fried golden brown with a salty, crispy finish. You're not going to find a better fry at any quick service restaurant! The added bonus is the option to get cheese sauce added to your fries (I like mine on the side). The cheese sauce is thick and creamy and doesn't taste like it is scraped from a can. You know the cheese is bad for you as you scoop it up with your fries, but you just can't stop! I was not impressed. I wanted the 'Shroom Burger ($6.89) but was told that it wasn't a "real burger," so the staff changed it to the Shack Stack ($9.59) instead. They said the 'Shroom burger was like a vegetarian burger, that it did not have a bun or meat. This should be clarified on the menu, and definitely not listed in the middle of the "Burgers" menu. The burger tasted good (I especially liked the crispy fried portobello mushroom with the melted muenster and cheddar cheeses), but it was certainly not worth almost $10. The Chick'n Bites ($4.59 for 6 pieces, $6.59 for 10 pieces) are tiny and not very impressive either. Outdoor seating was nice though. A couple dog bowls are available for your furry friends.
