We were deciding between two roast beef sandwiches (that we were going to share) and the cashier helped up pick #10 since it was exactly what we wanted. He even went so far as to charge us for a 16" but make it in 2 8" sandwiches since I wanted lettuce on mine and my fiancé did not. Ordered food through GrubHub from this jimmy johns. Because I'm traveling I wanted extra and ordered a giant sandwich which is $19+. The order arrived quickly however they gave me a regular sized sandwich which is half the size. I called and they asked if I could come get it because they didn't have any drivers. I can't because I don't have a vehicle. Guy took my number and said he would call his manager and call me back. Never heard from him again. I wish I could give negative stars! Staff is unprofessional, store is dirty...who runs this location?? You clearly don't care about your job. I work in food, so I empathize with food workers and I know how it can get. Sure, I placed an order 30min before you close, I get it...you want to get out of there. But sorry sweeties, you're still supposed to do your JOB and be SOMEWHAT PROFESSIONAL. First mistake- the sign written by an 8 year old saying the drive thru is closed. Second- you're out of turkey? It's 12 noon- htf?? Called the Rosemont Jimmy John's to place our order. I always have the same thing! Well it's 5min away. And 35 min later we still did not have our food. So called to see if everything was OK was told she had one delivery before us ...ok no biggie. Placed an order online and customized my sub, but when I picked up my order the customizations were not added (I wanted no tomato, added cucumbers, added oils) and my drink was wrong (I ordered a lemonade and got water lol....) it's upsetting because the staff there are super nice and friendly. This is not the normal Jimmy John's I go too but it's closer to my work so I decided to place my order online and pick it up during my lunch break. This place is very bad, I customized my sandwich and it seems like they completely ignored the customizations. I was very upset because I did not check my sandwich until I got back to work. The one thing I will not eat is onions and of course, there were onions all over my sandwich when it says right on the receipt "NO ONIONS." I didn't even have time to go back and get a new sandwich because my lunch break was almost over. I called them and asked to speak to a manager, explained the situation and told them I want a refund because I was not going to eat the sandwich. They told me the only person who can give me a refund is the owner. They took down my name and number and said they would have him reach out to me. Here we are 4 days later and I have not heard back from anyone nor have I gotten a refund. I will never go back to this location again and if you're in the area, trust me it's worth the drive to go to the Elk Grove or Mount Prospect location. read more

The sandwiches are solid, but not 5-Star-solid. Sure, the taste is there. The branding is there. The meat-to-bread ratio is beyond satisfactory, especially with the Gargantuan. And you certainly live by the hyperbole on speed: "subs so fast you'll freak," although it is still hyperbole because I was impressed, but certainly didn't lose my chill-ass demeanor. If it weren't for one factor, you'd have yourself a full star-count... Slippage. It takes well-above-average coordination and finesse to eat a Jimmy John without the hunk of interior cold cut sliding out on account of the mayonnaise. The mayo acts as a lubricant, causing the meat to slip out the back of the bread every bite. I don't want to seem complainy, but it's hard to enjoy flavor when you are chasing a flap of lubricated ham. I've developed a technique that helps but it's not perfect: I turn the sandwich sideways and eat it like a corn-on-the-cob, or how you would play a harmonica. This is no good though because you get mayonnaise deposits in your lip creases and that's a gross look when you plan to make out with people later, as most people do plan. To get your fifth star, I have a few options for you: 1. Sandwich clamps: invent and patent Jimmy John clamps (like binder clips) to secure the ingredients in-place within the bread. Extra points if you make these edible so you don't have to keep moving them down as you consume the sandwich. 2. Develop a non-slip mayo: find a chemical composition of mayo that has a higher coefficient of static friction. A hint--you probably need to lower the lipid count in the mayo because fats are naturally slippery. 3. Serve the mayonnaise and sandwich separately: maybe pump the mayo into juice boxes so someone can bite their sandwich, and then independently slurp mayo through a straw. This place is about the bread. This is what separates it from the subways and quizinos of the world. The roll has a nice hard crust that's less airy and more compact then your subway bread.
