A good lunch I stopped in for lunch today, receiving a friendly greeting as soon as I approached the counter. I selected #5 Vito, their Italian sandwich offering with a variety of sliced meats and other toppings. While it wasn't ready freaky fast it was ready in normal time fast, which was just fine. The place was busy and they do not have many tables but there was one open, and I settled in. The sandwich tasted fresh, the bread particularly good at holding it all together. I would have liked more sandwich, they only have the one 8" size. For those looking for more they do offer a sandwich called J.J. Gargantuan, still an 8" sandwich but with more insides. I should have remembered to go that route today. I should have also remembered to pick up some napkins. I visit Jimmy Johns infrequently and more times than not I find myself starting to eat when I realize I didn't pick up napkins. They are not handed to you when you get your sandwich and instead of sitting on top of a counter where you would see them, they are kept more out of sight. Ordered delivery online, nothing anywhere online says atleast 1 hour delivery time. I'm a construction worker and don't have time to eat lunch today now. Told them to cancel the order, they waited 20 minutes to call & tell me it's gonna be an hour. Poor service, no apologies, no making it right and giving store credit. Just a " it's gonna be atleast 45 minutes till we can get it out to you " had a previous fall out with this same location with parking. So apparently the good thing about traveling to small towns in Florida is that you get to discover all these fantastic franchises you didn't know existed. Enter JJ's = think Subways on crack, as in not only are their subs and sandwiches super tasty and FRESH (yeah what a concept) BUT they also deliver. Apparently this is how this guy Jimmy made his business, making deliveries to nearby colleges. Not only that, but these cats are super fast! I wasn't done ordering the rest of my sisters meal when they already handed me my sandwich. Their menu is split threefold; 8" Sub Sands., Plain Slims, and Giant Club Sand. We both had the Vegetarian 8" (which are big enough) except I had mine with whole grain and she had hers with french bread (you can also opt for Lettuce wrap if you are anti-carbs...kudos). If I tell you I have never had better tasting Alfalfa Sprouts would you believe me? $4.75 each, and considering we were trying to make it to the airport and they were so fast we still had time to sit down and enjoy it, I'm giving this place a solid 3.5. They have lost me as a customer. I will never order anything from that location. I've been ordering the chicken Caesars Wrap. I ask them every single time, to please don't cut it in half. Every time the wraps comes to me cut in half. So finally I called and told them that I just placed an order and to please don't cut it in half The woman actually said that they come cut in half. So I said to her "so the wraps, they come already cut in half or do make the sandwich first and then cut it in half? She said no, so I said to her, what's the big deal of not having it cut in half.?". She said hold on and went to ask somebody. After they had me on hold for a while, she came back and said, we won't cut it in half (as if it was a big dilemma) and she just hung up on me. I ordered the Club Lulu. It was very fresh and delivery was quick when I was at work needing something not fried but wholesome. Jimmy Johns seems to be a lot fresher than Subway especially their Whole Wheat Bread. I definitely recommend Jimmy Johns for that fresher taste. read more

I'm not really sure what the hype is. I walked in and was like damn the lettering is small on the menu. And I never have been so it was uncomfortable when I finally picked and could see they were giggling I took so long. Cool . They don't have any type of kids menu. Lose and they don't put it in bags for you ? Lose. I asked for everything but lettuce and I'm any deli sandwich they give you lettuce tomato and onions. All I got was tomato and no lettuce like I asked. Semi win. I didn't even know where the kids were. Im not returning because in jax I got firehouse and the next best is jersey mike. In the past I have raved about Jimmy John's (once I discovered the perfect sandwich: vegetarian, lose the cheese, add ham, sprouts, peppers and onions: DELICIOUS), even defending them against the many people I know who hate them. Unfortunately, lately they have managed to screw up every single sandwich in some way, and I'm over it. I always order online and pick it up since I work close by, and today I got the unhappy surprise when I tried to add the sprouts and was told that they were unavailable. Ordered my normal sandwich sans sprouts, oh well. When I went to pick it up the place was empty, yet the male at the cash register couldn't seem to manage a smile or even a hello, and was completely clueless about why they don't have sprouts right now or when they might get them back. When I got back to work, the pickle, which I ordered cut in half, was not cut, and the sandwich was missing the ham. I know that someone read my order, because the peppers and onions were there, but the ham seems to have fallen through the cracks. Tried calling a couple of times and couldn't get through, so Yelp was my last ditch effort to vent some steam and hopefully get someone at Jimmy John's to start caring again and put out what used to be delicious sandwiches. read more

I've gotten delivery from here a few times. I've eaten twice in the restaurant itself. They've never gotten an order wrong and the delivery each time has really been fast! The sandwiches aren't exactly cheap and it's not an every day lunch option. However, they are really good - fresh ingredients and the bread is fresh, too. I can only hope that I will have the same experience at any other Jimmy John's. I will certainly eat here again. ***EDIT*** Today (03/31/17), I got another delivery...unfortunately, when I ask for the sandwich to be cut in half, I actually want two halves and that didn't happen (...*again*)... I will usually overlook that. Also, there was no straw in the bag so I cannot enjoy my drink. That makes me sad. =( Note to management: tighten up! I think the food here is pretty good. The one thing I don't understand is how they manage to give you the correct order. There is no number system and basically they call out the sandwich order and one of the people waiting goes up and grabs it. I have ordered from here a number of times, always getting the Beach Club on 9-grain. My office is literally the next block over, but I can't leave my office so I have to get delivery. Delivery times have been inconsistent, but that is understandable in a bustling downtown environment at lunch time. No big deal. Most of the delivery people are very cordial, yet some seem as though they would rather be doing anything else but delivering sandwiches. My reason for the 1-star rating is because I feel they are a bit "misleading" (dare I say "fraudulent") with what they charge and what they give you. I had my usual sandwich on Monday...all good. Had it on Wednesday...all good, but left 1/2 in the fridge at work and totally forgot about it. Today, I ordered again, but doubled the turkey and avocado (upcharges for both). When I opened the sandwich to eat it, it didn't seem like it had anything extra on it. I walked in on 8/1/816 around 10 'clock with my daughter and greeted the 3 employees in the restaurant since they just stared. I received a greeting back from the cashiers and the male employee handling the bread. I ordered 2 #12 (beach clubs) and noticed that the 2 employees in the back (one male bringing out the bread and the other woman making the sandwiches) were rude and were smirking right in front of me. So I just ignored it and reached in my purse to pay for the food. The cashier was somewhat decent and was catching on to how the 2 unprofessional employees were acting and saw that it was pretty obvious that I felt disrespected by them. I was going to dine in with my daughter but felt so uncomfortable and very disrespected. We just grabbed the sandwiches and quickly left the restaurant. Who ever the manager or owner is should really retrain and discipline the 2 employees on customer service and remind them that they are not working for free and that there are people in that line of work who do their type of job and do it well...It's a shame that 2 grown adults do not know how to respect people around them and are a clear reflection of that restaurant. What is worst is that the sandwiches are pricey to begin with...you think they would make it worthwhile...Two thumbs down to Jimmy John's on Ringling Blvd!!
