So no matter how hungry I am I will eat my shoe before I eat there. First of all I thought I was either going to go deaf or loose my mind with the amount of screaming children without supervision on a late Saturday night in a place for adults. But I guess I sucked it up and ordered my pie. It was huge and very wet ..... Yuk. To me if the pie cannot support its toppings that's a problem. I also do not enjoy eating off 4" plastic plate. Cmon they can't provide you with at least a paper plate that accommodates your slice ? I had to use two place in order to not have my slice touch the grossly sticky and greasy table. Our server was good he was attentive and quick in the midst of the chaos. Pint of craft beer on tap was $6 .... We are not in Manhattan .... I am still wondering why people are excited about this place , there are quite a few places on Staten Island that blow this one out of the water. read more

Ok, i have lived on Staten Island going on 13 years and i have to say, i had originally thought Goodfellas was the best pizza. People keep telling me that Denino's is the best on the island but, in my opinion, Jimmy Max pizza is the best to me. For some reason, i just am unable to put my finger on just what it is but it reminds me of growing up in Queens. Something about it, an ingredient or 2 that brings back great memories from my younger years. All i know is that Jimmy Max will be my favorite for as long as i live on Staten Island, that simple. Held a parent & child party for the north shore JCC today. Not good & would not go back.

Went here last night. Met some friends. Great place for all to enjoy a great lunch or dinner. Live music provided later in the night which extended our stay. Awesome staff food and drinks. Been there before and will be back again. read more

On October 30th, I placed an order with Jimmy Maxx Restaurant. I used to order from Jimmy Max all the time . However the last time I ordered, the whole experience was a nightmare. First we were waiting for our order for almost two hours, finally when it did arrive, pizza was missing. Once I called the restaurant to inquire about it, I spent 25 minutes on hold. Finally once some girl picked up she informed me that the pizza we ordered was dropped off at a different address. She offered to send us another pizza which I declined since after 2 and a half hours, I already came up with a different meal for the kids. Then she told me that they would be willing to reimburse me for the pizza, to which I replied that a nice thing to compensate for the ruined evening would be to reimburse for the whole order. She declined to do so and informed that she has been in the restaurant business for 15 years and what I was saying is unheard of. In the end I wasn't even reimbursed for the pizza, had to call my credit card and file a dispute. Never again dealing with this place. read more

Very inexpensive and great food...Was here yesterday,8/3/15, for lunch and saw they have a new addition, a large party room for occasions....I had the bar pie, broccoli rabe, sausage with hot cherry tomatoes for only $11. It was over the top and I had the remainder for supper.....Wines and beer are very reasonable...My 93 yr. old uncle was with us and loved having a few pints of BUD. He lives in Westerleigh and gets their take out w free delivery...He has limited appetite and had a child portion spaghetti and meatballs....and he ate it all.....His wife had the crab cake which was a winner.....A great menu for lunch and so reasonable...Service was great and homemade rosemary bread was devoured and loved by all....All and all its the place to go for a night out in this section of S.I. and i bet its good for parties.... read more

Visited Jimmy Max for the first time in quite a while and was glad to see some sorely needed renovations in the main dining room. However, we were a little disappointed with our dining experience. The service was pleasant but inept. Upon entering, we were left standing at the hostess station for almost 15 minutes, though the dining room was clearly half empty - no explanation. We were finally shown to a table which wobbled badly and was positioned to send a cold chill to us every time the front door opened Again, our server left us waiting another 10 minutes though there were very few diners. She asked if we'd liked some drinks but hadn't shown us a drink menu. She asked for our dinner order and referred to a specials board that neither she nor ourselves could read from where we sat. When our orders came - again after a substantial wait - it was served to the table next to us by mistake. Now, at no time was anyone rude or unpleasant, merely inept at the business of serving. Our appetizer was an order of fried calamari which was tasteless and chewy. Things were not looking good. For my main course, I had selected eggplant parmesan with penne vodka - it was delicious. My wife's dish (tortellini with vegetables) was also excellent. Both dishes were far better than anything I had eaten at Jimmy Max in previous visits. They have obviously upgraded their entrees as well as their dining room. In short: pretty nice place, good food served by nice young people who have no idea what role they play in the dining experience they are a key part of. read more

Was visiting Staten Island from Canada for a track meet when a snow storm hit and shut down most of the city. Very few restaurants were open and being gluten intolerant made it very hard for me to find dinner before my competition. Lucky enough I found Jimmy Max which has a large variety of gluten free options and a group of us went to eat. Upon sitting down Jimmy introduced himself and sat down with us and was very interested in where we were from and what we were doing in Staten Island. He also had told us that Jimmy Max has only been closed ONCE since opening 24 years ago! Jimmy Max had big portion sizes and very good tasting food, so good we went there again the next night after our races! From meeting Jimmy once my group feels as though we have made a great friend in Staten Island and we are looking forward to seeing and eating at Jimmy Max again. read more

Really great for all types of occasions. The atmosphere is warm, the menu has a real wide variety of interesting options, and the pizza is delicious, especially their specialty pies. Their clam pie, their buffalo chicken pie, and their pepperoni/sausage pie specifically are delicious. Their appetizers are delicious, both the regular staples (wings, mozzarella sticks, calamari) and their more experimental options (Italian sushi and egg rolls). My party had multiple folks with dietary restrictions, and Jimmy Max was incredibly accommodating. Gluten Free Pizza and Gluten Free Dishes galore. We sat near the bar, which normally seems like it could be a problem, but everyone, patron and employee, were incredibly warm and friendly. It felt like a family that we were invited to participate in. Received multiple extended, earnest visits from management. The bar was fun, the patrons were friendly, the food across the board was delicious and fairly priced. Felt extremely comfortable and genuinely love being here and would come back for any type of occasion, casual or classy. read more

I had dinner here last night and it was nothing short of amazing! From the staff to the food everything was awesome. The manager Robert was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond for me when he was told I have a severe shellfish allergy. He frequently checked on us to make sure we were happy. It is an entirely different place at night on the weekend. There is a VERY young crowd that comes in and, while there's generally nothing wrong with that, it seems this crowd is a little rough. If you are a regular here you probably won't believe that Jimmy has to hire bouncers here at night. Dont order by delivery, they forget everything and are rude when you complain. Have transient drivers that are not interested in what you order just the tip and how much they have to walk. When I first ordered from them they wanted me to come down and meet in the parking lot. Real obnoxious on customers who have a complaint. And the sausage is no longer as good as Denino's. It was just bland no kick. The bar is a whole different world. A neighborhood dive with the usual suspects. Not particularly a family spot particularly if you have to use the facilities. read more

Went to Jimmy Max last night with my Fiancé to try their gluten free pizza. One word W0W. Hands down the best gluten free pizza I have ever had!!! I have been gluten free for almost a year and have tried many places on the island, nothing compares. They also have gluten free beer, pasta and chocolate cake... Yummmmm!!! I highly recommend this place for people that are gluten free. They are doing it right at Jimmy maxs!!!!! I will definitely be back!!!! read more

So, I have lived on Staten Island my entire life and somehow never wound up at Jimmy Max, until Saturday night that is. We went there due to the fact they are one of only 2 Staten Island pizzerias that has or at least advertises that they have gluten free pizza, which by the way was absolutely delicious! Minimal sauce which is how I like my pizza, mozzarella, plum tomato and fresh basil...perfect. The reason I didn't give it more stars is because my husband and I are Devils fans, and when we walked in a customer started commenting on how we're all coming out of the woodwork now, and the employee (who I think was management) was talking about how he was tempted to double charge a couple of Devils fans that were in there the night before us. I find engaging in trash talk with a customer about customers is extremely unprofessional and when I called him out on it, he looked like a deer in the headlights. I will go back to Jimmy Max, but I will try the Great Kills location and hope that they are a little more professional. read more

Dont EVer Order from the Jimmy Max in Westerleigh (sp).....They have absolutely no interest in getting your order accurate.........Itrs blatanly dis-respectful the way these goons treat their customers........For the second time in a week (yes, Im an idiot after the first time), I ordered something for my daughter, and after repeating it over and over again like a 12 year old, they still had no interest in getting the order correct.....(keep in mind, I repeat it over and over because I know they have no interest in getting it right)........The first time, they assured me the driver would return with the correct order....After my 8 year old and I waited for that driver to return, they never did did return...After living in Manhattan for 12 years, Jimmy Max is the perfect reminder of how absolutely awful people and establishments treat others on Staten Island, and no where else in the United States.....If you complain about service (i never do) in other restaurants in NY, they would see to it the problem is corrected...At a place like Jimmy Max, they would hang up the phone and mock the customer.......Disgusting way to conduct business.... read more

what a major disappointment! will never return to this excuse for an eatery. attended a gathering to celebrate a child's birthday. after waiting patiently for over two hours the pizza pies we ordered still had not come out. the guests were starving after sitting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. i saw many pies leaving restaurant for pickup and deliveries but we kept being told kitchen was busy and backed up. the only pleasant person was the waitress and there was nothing she could do to get our orders from the kitchen. what a shame that our evening as well as our guests evening was totally ruined. needless to say none of us will be returning. what a disaster! unaccommodating and was told "i don't know what to tell you." food finally arrived when everyone was falling asleep and we had to leave. never got to have birthday cake or sing to the child. only mistake was paying for the food that came out when everyone was leaving. beyond frustrated!!!!! read more
