My first time here and the food much better than I expected. Had the crab and shrimp stuffed cod. Kids had pizza and a cheeseburger. They were fine with it. Crowded for a fundraiser event so a bit loud but service was swift and the food was very very good. The overall atmosphere was regular normal people with families and thats what I like. Waiter a little bit stuffy but it was a bit crazy with all the kids so I understand that. We will be going back again. read more

I ordered from them on GrubHub earlier today and at one point I realized my order was two hours late! I called them and explained the situation and it turned out GrubHub never submitted my order. The woman I spoke to on the phone (I think her name was Jennifer?) was incredibly apologetic and not only did she have them rush my order, I was given a complimentary slice of cake to apologize for the mixup. It totally made my day and I will definitely be ordering from them again (although maybe by phone next time haha). read more

THREE AND A HALF STARS?! Not sure why Jimmy Max gets so much hype. My family (who will eat and enjoy just about anything when it comes to pizza) ordered the Who Cares pizza (formerly known as the Meat Lovers pizza), and it was absolute garbage. The sausage, meatball, bacon, pepperoni were all deeply tucked under this heavy carpet of cheese. Everything else we ordered tasted like it was microwaved and then dumped into a bucket of grease. Buyer Beware - Jimmy Max on Watchogue Rd. was a complete disaster for kids pizza making parties. I am a mother of two and have been organizing kids parties for a long time. This by far was the worst experience from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Owner Jimmy ignored both my husband and I when we tried speaking with him. Party for 15 kids and 18 adults booked a month in advance Jimmy Max only had two kids on staff, one who is not good with kids and the other who smelled like cigarette smoke (badly!) only 10 crayons to go around for the kids to color their table mats; kids were fighting over crayons. tables and chairs were all broken and lop-sided. drinks were sliding down the tables, room set up a logistical nightmare, kids were hitting their heads on the corners of the tables only 4 kids at a time to make their own pizza, only 4 kids sized rolling pins available (that were dirty), kids crying because they couldn't all make their pizza at the same time, dough and cheese was provided. no sauce or toppings. Room was extremely dirty! kids were made to sit on the floor to play pass the dough, very unsanitary - never saw so many moms reach for sanitizer so fast! My husband and I dressed our own food table with plates, napkins and silverware. We also served our own food and had to request serving forks and spoons. Cigarette smelling bus boy was walking with trays of hot pizza over the kids heads as they were playing pass the "dirty dough." Adult food passable - hot sandwich was cold. Here's the best part - my kids birthday cake was not in the building. They "dropped the ball" on picking it up. I realized what was going on after lunch was over for about 40 minutes and still no birthday cake. Parents were leaving before we got to sing to my daughter. Owner Jimmy left without any sort of apology then sent his daughter to come and speak with us. She had zero class and zero customer service. Do not advertise that you do great kids pizza making parties if you don't! It's even advertised on their pizza boxes! read more

My message to Jimmy Max: Good evening. I am writing to you concerning an incident that happened last night. I have been a frequent customer. I have always picked your restaurant for delivery by Grub Hub. Last night I placed an order approximately 6:30pm. I received an e mail and text stating my delivery time would be between 7:20 - 7:30. As of 8pm, I received neither call or food. I called your restaurant to find out the status of my order. The young lady agreed she would call me back after talking with the driver. A few minutes later, the young lady called me back. she told me she spoke with the driver and the driver informed her that he tried to call me. She then continued to tell me that the driver told her he was scared to deliver on my block because someone had been shot on my block, last week. I never received a call from the driver. I don't recall anyone being shot in this area last week. I contacted GrubHub about this incident and I was told that GrubHub, was too, told that this was a known delivery shooting area. the last time a delivery person was shot was 2 years ago. Unless I am missing something, this is a form of discrimination. I have ordered from your restaurant a few times and there was never a problem. Why now? Why lie about something that never happened on my block. I would like a decent explanation. I would like to speak with a manager, at their earliest convenience. Service is horrendous called to see how long I would have to wait I had two small children with me they told me maybe 20 minutes so we decided to go went there within 10 minutes when we got there the wait was now 1 hour and 45 minutes learned my lesson wouldn't waste my time or money again here.. read more

Tonight my son wanted to eat at Jimmy Max to visit his new friend Jimmy who he met on a pizza making kindergarten trip. He was very excited when he spotted Jimmy and went over with my daughter to say hello. Jimmy came over to our table and pulled up a chair. While talking we discovered that Jimmy's son has a nut allergy as does my daughter. Jimmy related to us that the restaurant has been nut free for over 12 years. Jimmy spoke about the seriousness of food allergies and how his whole staff are trained on the importance of people's allergies. It's greatly appreciated that we can comfortably go into a restaurant and enjoy a meal. While we always enjoyed Jimmy Max, it is now our favorite family restaurant. read more

I've been coming to this Jimmy Max since I was in elementary school. This is the best Jimmy Max out of the two that's on the Island. There wings are very good, bar pie is delicious & can feed two. There calamari I can do without. It's very chewy & doesn't really have much taste to it. That's the only thing I dislike from here. Everything else is really good. It's a good place to hang even if you want to just sit by the bar. They also have a private room that can fit about 4 long tables so maybe 30 people. read more

Update due to recent order, ordered the gluten free pizza and was very disappointing - the taste was different and the way it was cooked and presented was different. It was salty and it looked and tasted as if it was reheated. The dough was gummy. Also, the fettuccine Alfredo was bland, sauce was too thick and also tasted reheated. read more

One of my faves to bring the kids. Pizza is awesome. Food is always on point. Appetizers are amazing. Jimmys crabby bread is so good. They have a bar next door so you can get beer on tap and drinks. Family friendly. I be live on Tuesdays kids make their own pizza for free and they cook it I believe with an adult meal which kids love. The owner jimmy is a true class act. Maxed out on Jimmy Max. Jimmy Max food is usually very tasty, but it requires modification for me to enjoy. Unfortunately their online ordering service is outdated and not user friendly requiring me to call after to make sure they received my modification request. Even then a good portion of the time my food comes incorrect. I have written to their "contact us" and called the restaurant back but they made it clear they weren't interested in customer feedback. Great pizza - but get it as take out. My favorites are the Who Cares and the T.B.R. Both are excellent. The bar pie is the perfect size for two if you're not with a group or interested in leftovers. The Antipasto is another regular order for us and is very satisfactory. That said the service borders on rude and at best is slow and inattentive. The bar side is pretty nice, but the dining room needs some attention. Eat this delicious pizza in the comfort of your own home. read more

I ate here when the kids were small and it was walking distance. The pizza has no taste. It is bland. No flavor at all.
