I've been coming here for a while and the service from the bartenders and security is top notch. Big shoutout to Chelsea and Bryan. They always keep the vibe in there and make sure nothing crazy happens. From what I understand management switched out 4 months ago and a really bad owner got booted. Now Chelsea runs the joint and the owners are super cool. It's a really fun spot on Thursday nights for karaoke. read more

Been here plenty of times, but finally wanted to share some praise. Everyone behind the bar and in front of the bar have been awesome and incredibly friendly! Chelsea, the bartender and bar manager, has a great attitude and a really fun personality. She makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated. So do the other bartenders like Hannah, Isabella, Stephanie, etc! All the guys there are awesome, too! Chase, Matt, Chris, Bryan, and Edwin are great to talk to and hang out with on the front patio or up near the lounge. Overall, great bar, great drinks, great atmosphere. Picture this, it's NYE 2019, I of course had failed to make any plans in advance because procrastination of a thousand generations courses through my veins... I am haplessly desperate, calling venues left and right to see who has the most reasonable cover for a bar/club... One bar says $65, another says $100?! What is 2019 coming to? Then the light bulb went off... Of course, reliable ole' Jimmy O's... Ever so present and open Jimmy O's! Quick as lightning I dial the bar, and a pleasant gentleman comes to the phone... I ask a simple question "What will the cover be for NYE this year?" with a chuckle the man states the most beautiful statement a desperate NYE partier wants to hear "We don't have a cover!" With a jubilant "WOW" I told the man I would see him later that night! Jesting aside, this place truly never has a cover, has a pretty decent DJ, he plays a variety but definitely plays the hip-hop you need to have fun. The drinks are pretty reasonable. There was a time we had an open tab and some jerk charged a BUNCH of drinks to our tab (much to my frustration)... Jimmy O's without hesitation or pushback corrected the bar tab and reimbursed the money! I also love to people watch and currently the crowd is an older crowd... I love seeing the older men trying to pick up the way too young females. I can't help but laugh when the young guys are searching for their cougar! read more

Whatever, judgmental owner , strange vibe from this historic bar that could be a better venue with the right management. Didn't try the food. Karaoke is ok, maybe it's fun on the weekends. Try the Monarch across the street. That's where the owner prefers to hang out. read more

We love Jimmy O's sports bar in Del Mar! Our men love watching sports on the extra large screens with their favorite beer, drinks, and plenty to eat. Us ladies love our favorite cocktails and the fantastic d.j.'s dance mix. I celebrated my birthday there last night and once again, we experienced love, laughter, and a great community of fun. Very Sad about this review. The crow is very welcoming, too bad it does not extend to the bar staff. Literally 3 bar tenders, and none of them cared to ask me, while I am looking at them and standing there waiting to be asked if I would like something to drink. Only reason I did not speak up this last time, is cause the time before, one of the bar tenders almost seemed insulted that I asked for a beer. Interesting enough, every white customer seemed to have a drink and got plenty of attention. Definitely felt some discrimination happening cause it was not busy enough to where I had to wait for 15 minutes to where I got fed up to just say "yo, just close me out" Supper Sad. Customer service is easy, but they just don't care to give any, at least not to me. read more

This place blows! I've been here 3 times for a night out with music, and the outdoor guards don't let you know there are coat hooks under the bar, and they tell you that you can hang your coat outdoors on the chairs (terrible suggestion!). I left the place, forgetting the jacket, came back the next morning and it was stolen! I don't think the average 'Sara' from Del Mar needs to steal my leather jacket....it had to be a crew member that found it and kept it. A thief definitely works there! read more

Dissapointed in the safety procedures tonight. Stopped in and the bartender had a mask that he barely had around his neck. Grossest thing was he walked over to friends that were sitting at the bar, ate a chicken wing, and went right back to serving. Didn't wash hands or anything. Even without Covid he should not be eating at the bar with guests. He the proceeded to grab a glass for me and held it with his fingers on the inside of the cup. Plus jimmy O's is using straws with no wrapper, so the bartender with bare hands, who had just fidgeted with her mask, grabbed a straw to put on my drink. Get your safer procedures together Jimmy I'd and enforce it with your staff. read more

Made it in line, tried to get into this place to grab a drink on our vacation and we were not able to get serviced. The bouncer at the door who claimed he was the manager would not let me in even though my ID was valid and I showed him multiple forms of identification. He claimed he was 23 years old. Mind you im 27... And this was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. Not sure if this was a power tactic or what. But this was horrible customer service and I will never be back or recommend anyone to come to this restaurant or bar because of this particular manager. Really should re-evaluate management. Unfortunate because we come here often, but we will never we back. Message to the owners... re evaluate your employees. Horrible. And had cost you multiple customers. read more

Stopped in for Happy hour on Wednesday. $ 6 dollar draft beers and great food, the Tri tip steak sandwich was moist, the gator tots and waffle fries were hot and crunchy ! very reasonable prices for an outside patio view looking right at the sunset and ocean . They are definitely paying for reviews. It's been a huge transition since Keith sold the place. $10 cover on Wednesdays when it is absolutely empty, especially on Valentine's Day when it wouldn't be a hot spot anyways. Drinks are overpriced, staff is slow. It isn't anything like it used to be. Also they barely have any of the liquor/drinks on the menu in stock, whether it's because they can't figure it out with the vendors or they just can't afford it.
