Three of those times our vehicle has had to be towed into his shop, which is a small area, yet he has always taken us on and made the room to accommodate us. He is quick on his diagnostics and quick on his repairs. He is also very reliable, true to his word, and affordable! I feel he prioritizes locals and I personally LOVE that. His diagnostics fee is $100, but if you choose to use him to do the repairs then that $100 is used toward the overall balance. I had an appt at another automotive store for an emissions this morning. I get there and was told there was no inspector in to do it. I even had a confirmation email to show the correct location, date, time, etc. (I live a state away currently so getting this done while near my permanent residence while I was in town for a short amount of time was very important and appts are weeks out, which is why I made one). So after calling multiple other places, Jimmy's came up on my list to call. He said he could probably work me in if I dropped my vehicle off, and he did as promised! I would give a 0 if it was possible. I took my truck in for a simple evap sensor replace which should be a $100 or less fix. Jimmy told me he would have it fixed early the next week (I dropped it off on a Saturday), and said they were "very familiar with this issue ame it would be no problem." it took a month to get my truck back after me calling at least 2 times a week and they kept giving me the same excuse; "this one is confusing us." after 3 weeks I told him I was coming to get it so I could take it somewgere to get it fixed and magically they figured out what the issue was.........a $300 part! this being after he told me that it would be no more than $400 to fix the issue AND flush the transmission; which he never even did. I told him to just fix it because I needed my truck back. I went a few days later to pick it up, and i got my bill.......they charged me $500 for labor, $300 for the part he said I needed. and then another $77 for the part I took it in to have replaced that he said wasn't even the problem!!! On top of getting swindled out of over $900, they trashed my truck. it was filthy when I picked it up. there was grease and oil all over the steering wheel, inside door panel and all over the outside. also. there's a huge oil stain on the light gray visor and headliner. this place is extremely shady and the owner is a crook. I got horrible customer service, robbed out of hundreds of dollars. and a truck that was so nasty I spent hours and almost $50 worth of cleaning supplies just to clean up the mess they made DO NOT GO TO THIS "MECHANIC SHOP"!!!! read more

Requested price for actuator replacement. Had car 6 days. Had to call him, because he didn't call us. Original estimate $1300 to $1700. Then called and said $1,700 to $2400. No communication Car was damaged whili in his possession. Front bumper banged up with white paint scratches on side. If he didn't want to do the work to start with, or couldn't do the work, he should of told us. read more

The owner is very fake. I've been here 3 times. The first time he put in a new radiator and I thought the service was great. That's why I called him back in January to fix my heater. I asked if he could squeeze me in and I'd be willing to wait he said yeah no problem, but when I got there he acted rude to me when I asked what the mechanic was doing to my truck bc I wanted to make sure I had the money to cover it. He said I PUSHED my way in and I was rude to him when all I was doing was asking about my truck bc I've had mechanics work on my truck before and charge me more money than I brought with me. I thought well maybe he was just having a bad day so the third time I went to him was for brakes, rotors, & a caliber and when I talked to him on the phone I told him I found a caliber for $50 and asked why he was charging me $100 for the caliber and if I could get the cheaper price for it, he literally told me that he remembered me and I was rude to him and gave him trouble the last times I came in. I said I think you have me confused with someone else bc I thought we got along fine and he said no no you were a problem before and I may not even work on your truck. This was after my truck sat in his parking lot for three days to get worked on. When I came in to pay the price he gave me, he did nothing but say how pretty I was over and over which pissed me off bc he was so rude to me and lied about me on the phone. I will never go back to him again. On top of that I don't even think they bled the brake line bc I have to press the pedal very hard to stop the truck and it still has a loud squeal to it which is very annoying. The mechanics are nice but the owner is a fake jerk who pretends to be nice until you ask questions about your truck or car. He also sways back and forth like he's on something and sways back and forth all 3 times I've been in there. The first time Steve one of Jimmy's employees gave me a ride home because I lived close and didn't have to sit there for hours. The second time I got to chat with the owner himself. Jimmy bucks all stereotypes of mechanics - he is honest, straight shooting, and if I may say a wonderful person. I brought in my truck for an assessment, Jimmy (the owner and business' namesake), took excessive time to explain in detail all of the issues with my car. He told me what needed to be done and what could wait, there was no pressure, and he quoted prices which were reasonable. Talking to him over the phone and in person was such a pleasure - I never thought I would ever say this, but I wish that everyone were as amazing as this mechanic ! I bet you've never said that before! I am a woman and Jimmy was the same when I talked to him alone, and the same when I brought in my son who builds cars. I am going to leave reviews everywhere and get the word out about this repair shop!! Every mechanic should be this good at their work and honest. Jimmy and his mechanics are amazing diagnosticians. I was having some issues with my 2011 Dodge Durango misfiring at idle when in gear. Of course I was very nervous about the cost of repair for something like this. Jimmy diagnosed the car with a cylinder head failure (Low compression in cylinders 4 and 6). He told me to check with Dodge to see if they would cover it and luckily they will (just under the wire for our warranty) He is extremely honest, he stood to make a lot of money replacing my cylinder head but was looking out for us. It means a lot to me and our family to have a mechanic who we can truly trust. I will never take my cars to a different mechanic again. Jimmy has been doing our car work for over 10 years--he was our mechanic even before he opened his own shop. We were super glad he has his own shop since we don't worry about who is working on our car. He always makes it right. He has worked on our Toyotas, Hondas, and Ford F150. He dropped a Jasper engine in my F150 last year, and did a ton of work just for the cost of the parts since he was already 'in there'. I can't count how many times he has suggested how I can save money or give me the option to delay the work--that means honesty to me. I had a bad water pump with the new engine build and he replaced it at ZERO charge--upgraded pump part to NAPA, free coolant, free labor. He stands behind his work. If you want to see how good the shop is, drive by there any day 24x7 and count the cars. Nobody else in town has an overflowing lot 365 days/year. I have never seen someone so popular with a new business right out of the gate and then continue like this--there was a definite need for high quality mechanical work in Ofallon that is HONEST. Jimmy has been working on my 2004 Jeep Liberty since I moved into the area a few years ago. I am a single woman, so I have issues with mechanics in the past who start conversations with " little lady" and such. Jimmy and everyone else in the shop ALWAYS treat me with kindness and respect. They never talk down to me like I couldn't possibly understand anything about my car. I don't know much about cars, but they ALWAYS break it down for me in such a way that I don't feel insulted. I first met Jimmy when a belt blew off my van near his shop and I rolled into his parking lot just as he was locking the doors to go home. He never mentioned that it was closing time, or that he may have a family to go home to. He raised the hood right there, observed the torn belt, unlocked the shop, called the part store and waited with me for the part. It took 20 minutes or so to install the belt (it was the main belt), and he chatted happily with me as he did the work. I left paying only the cost of the part, and $10 for Jimmy. When I thanked him for staying late and helping me, he replied that he was glad to do it and he hoped I had a better evening. That was a couple years ago. Since then he has helped me numerous times, advised me on a vehicle purchase, and discovered that another shop had put a faulty alternator on my van but had charged me for a brand new factory part. Jimmy's prices are very competitive (he's beat all other shops I've used), the work is excellent, and above all - Jimmy treats every one with kindness and respect.
