Not only did Jimmy's fit us into their busy schedule, they were also happy to see us! We were greeted with smiles and two extremely comfortable chairs waiting for us! How is this place still open? The rudest, roughest place in town. They are by no means gentle. The girls are unfriendly and extremely rude. Always checking cell phones and busy doing personal things. I hardly know where to start, it was so bad from start to finish. If you're a previous Chrysalis or BeautyMark customer, this will be nothing like those pedicures. Arrived shortly after 10, was asked if I had an appointment, which I did not, and was seated promptly in a chair. Nice. 2 ladies were working and one was training the other on doing a pedi. Fine. Another customer arrived and she got the trainee and I still had the trainer. My nail polish hadn't even been removed before my technician was answering the phone, then changing the music, touching the other customers feet, etc. Gloves on/gloves off. No handwashing at all between customers. Yuck If I'm paying 45-50$ I would at least like a technician to myself. After that she cut my nails, used a dremel to file which I've never seen before on real nails, and that was pretty much it. A tiny bit of cuticle work, without oil or anything, and then used the cuticle cutter to snip some of a callus that should've been done with the file or cheese grater thingy. She was definitely not into her job today and was looking everywhere in the shop instead of concentrating on what she was doing. I've had pedicures for 30 yrs and this was the worst. I was out of there by 1045, so do the math. The other thing is when she pulled out the drawer to get some lotion it was absolutely filthy. Yuck. Anyway, it's a No from me. read more

Absolutely the worst pedicure I've ever had and a total waste of money and I will pay GOBS for a good pedi. The chairs are awful, the "massage" is annoying distant vibration at best and when you get up to leave they are so poorly designed you have no choice but to step in the tub with your flip flops on. $55 for a pedicure that lasted no more than 30 minutes, no massage, no paraffin, no stones, no cheese grater (you know what I mean), no lotion, it's basically a polish change and nothing more. Unfortunately, I had the most stressful experience today in Jimmy's Salon. I asked when I came in if they were too busy to see me. They said no. Turns out they were.I spent the better part of the day there getting g piece meal service. I usually get designs on my toe nails but I got whipped out of the chair before I could even ask. Then I sat in the mani chair forever. The girl worked on me between taking money and answering the phone. I filed my own nails in the meantime. She cut me with the scissors. Then she gave me some kind of a weird rub on one part of one shoulder. Then she slapped me so hard on the back of my whip lashed neck I cried out in pain. I got an instant headache. I had to get up and leave with my nails still not dry. Needless to say I had to go buy nail polish remover and try to redu my nails myself. I was a regular customer there for years, but I won't be going back. All it would have taken is a simple, I'm sorry we can't see you today instead of using my entire day and being tortured. Addendum, I am considering filing an assault charge because I was struck so hard I had to be seen by at the clinic. read more

Jimmy and his team are so professional and attentive. Customer service is excellent and the quality of services superb; they are always willing to customize and make suggestions that help the client. Very friendly staff immediately offering us drinks while we waited a brief amount of time, to be expected, as we were a walk in. San Pellegrino was served ice cold and delicious. We got the deluxe pedicure and manicure. Excellent massage of legs and arms/neck during services. My feet are soft and nails colored perfectly. Ive been to Jimmy's a fee times before and always bring a friend with me and its always been good enough but noThis time I brought my Mom and spent 170$ on full mani and pedis for my Mom and I for my birthday. My Mom had a great service and her nails look wonderful. My pedicure was good and the technician was friendly. My manicure was horrible!! The tech was rude and hurried and the gel manicure I received reflects this!! I have little bubbles all over my french gel manicure and she didn't even do my cuticles! I didnt even want french manicure but got it because of their limited selection of sparkly gel colors. They only offer 4 RED sparkle gel polishes unlike most nail salons that offer 20 plus. Gel last a long time and very expensive to get. So a rude and careless tech costed me a positive experience on birthday and it will be the last time I go to Jimmy's or recommend them to anyone!! read more

I think jimmy and the staff are very friendly but I feel some updating and changes need to happen. The prices have gone up for not getting much done. I got a pedicure which was super fast (20 minutes max). They used to offer shoulder massages, I did not get one. It was a scrub and then painted nails. The scrubs do nothing so I should have really just gotten a nail color and not paid for the pedicure since it offered nothing additional. I sat in a chair that was taped together in multiple place, and was full of rips and staining. The chairs dont offer any kind of massage either, just vibration at best but all the buttons were broken anyway. Fairhaven is growing with nice new shops coming in and this salon is starting to look run down, messy and is offering nothing different from the other nail salons read more

Bait and Switch We saw the sign advertising "Full Mani/Pedi $50 Mondays & Tuesdays" at Jimmy's Personal Care Spa. I called and booked an appointment for 2 for the Monday Mani/Pedi special. When we arrived at the salon an employee told us they no longer do the special. When I asked why they were still advertising it, she went to the back of the store (at the time I thought to talk to a manager?). When she came back out she said it is now $58. I repeated "$58 for a mani-pedi." She said yes and we decided since we were already there to stay. After a long, strange experience getting a mani-pedi they were getting ready to close, there were no other customers left in the salon we got up to pay. She said, "ok $68 each." We were shocked! I said, "you said $58." She and the other employees got very aggressive and said we misunderstood her accent and that she had said $68. We realized they had pulled a bait and switch! We would have never gone into the shop for a $68 mani-pedi considering there are other nicer salons in the area that charge less. We had been tricked by the sign and by their obviously well-rehearsed act. BEWARE! PS the manicure was terrible and she cut my cuticle with some sort of dremel tool read more

The first time I went here was 5 yrs ago and I was impressed with the quality of service. Over the last year I have been very dissatisfied. I called to make a reservation a few days earlier and told them I had felt very rushed the last 2 times I was there. My friends did not wish to return however I decided to give it 1 more try. I even told them when I called I was going to try 1 more time and did not want to be rushed. Well they certainly didn't improve at all. She told me to come Thursday as it wouldn't be as busy as Friday. I waited about 20 min before someone even waved me to a chair. Then she turned on the water and left it running and it was super hot so I had to keep adjusting it. The man next to me was left with his water running and he didn't notice it was full until is started over flowing. My pedicure started 30 min late. It seems walk ins are taken regardless of people who reservations. For the manicure I had painstakingly been growing my nails for a formal event I am going to. My thumb nail had broken and the manicurist asked if she could trim them and i said yes only to have them amALL cut off!! she asked me after cutting them and she saw me looking at them if they were ok. I didn't say much since it was too late at that point. They are not even as long as my fingertips now. I have never had them so short.I will not be returning. read more

This was the absolute worst pedicure I have ever received and I've been getting them for over 20 years. The didn't get the dry skin off of the feet. Didn't get to Soak our feet because we were rushed. We were asked to get up and walk over to another chair bare foot on the dirty floor???! Then they messed up the paint by trying to put sandals back on and wasn't even going to redo the nail completely until I spoke up.Basically we paid to get our toes pained that's it! I always visit Jimmy's for both manicures and pedis. It's the best place in town, honestly. Very clean facility, the employees are extremely friendly and attentive, BEST massages (no doubt about that), a wide range of colors AND they serve wine and fruit. This place is so different than the pedi shops you see all over the place these days. Jimmy's uses highest standards of hygiene, and they just got a 97 when inspected last week by the health department. I love the polish colors- plenty of choices. And no strong odors in the shop.
