    Truffle fries
    Jim D.

One of my slices the was lackluster, the truffle while the other was amongst some of the best margherita pizza I've had. But tbh where this excels is the dessert. That damn fudge cookie & banana pudding just took my heart & tan with it. The fries were the 2nd most disappointing item. If I could find the person who invented truffle oil I swear because if you'd had the real thing oil will not suffice. I also thought it was expensive. 2 slices, 2 desserts & fries for $50. Eager to try other menu items such as the beignets & wings.

My partner and I visited for the first time the other day & ordered a slice of cheese, their signature white pizza & shared an order of garlic knots. Everything was so good. The garlic knots are what dreams are made of. 15/10 no notes.

Pretty good NY style pizza. I came here on a Sunday night with three people (1 child included). Definitely a kid friendly place. I got the chicken tikka masala pizza, it was good. My child got a pepperoni pizza. I got a beer, ipa of some sort. My partner got the Quattro Funghi Truffle, he enjoyed it. What's great about this place is the options for slices, you can get a variety of types or even a whole pizza. It's good food. Very east coast.

Margherita(these may have just been display but the slice I got was amazing)

Kind of late night, had a craving for a Margherita and decided to try out Jimmys. Parked right in front, went inside and my order was almost ready as i placed it on the phone. Pretty solid slice, would like slightly more crisp on the crust and dough but I'd still come back even if they make it the same way as they did this time. I recommend and will be back.

Best in the Midwest? As someone who loved a good pizza slice being from NJ I have always been on the hunt for a pizza place that reminded me of pizza from the Tri state. This is by far the closest I have ever gotten. I am truly a buffalo chicken pizza fan. My wife on the other hand is not and she loved this so that tells you a lot. I will say I enjoy the traditional walk up counter with the true New York feel if we will bring your pizza out to you. We chose to sit outside on a nice day in the city and I will say their outdoor seating is nice for a group of friends. My only recommendation to them is to secure the umbrellas as one flew away. This did not take away from experience though. They also have a nice selection of televisions if you want to come here to watch a game. I will definitely be back.

A slice of New York! The perfect fold, chew and tang (in the sauce). We ordered two pies on red and one garlic (white sauce). Both are and we will be making this a go to place. Next time I'm trying the mushroom pizza

This place really impressed me! I can believe I haven't been here before. I love a place that sells by the slice, and they had some reallllly good options. I tried the butternut squash fall pizza and it was really good. It was slightly sweet and with some red pepper flakes, was a great combo. The slices are also huuge! We ordered a side of garlic knots (can never go wrong with garlic). The line was long but they move through it quickly. There is a small outdoor patio but it was too chilly for that.

Met up with some friends here this past Sunday and will definitely be coming back. Their New York slice options are some of the best I've seen and the porchetta one I tried was delicious. It was busy but there was still a good amount of seating and I enjoyed the lively, family-friendly atmosphere of the place. They have a decent selection of beers and several other menu items that looked really good including the big garlic knots and Buffalo wings. When I went up to grab my slice I saw an order of the wings coming out that looked perfectly crisp and piping hot. Plenty of staff were on hand to keep things moving and the long line was quick. Everyone I interacted with was really friendly too. I've been telling everyone I know who hasn't already to check out Jimmy's and I'm looking forward to stopping in more.

    20 inch pepperoni w/ Mike's hot honey

Jimmys is as authentic as you're going to get to New York style pizza. The slices are huge, the crust is thin and flint and can easy be folded and eaten like a true New Yorker. At least that's how I think they eat pizza. I tried placing an order online but was quoted about an hour. I called the order in instead, and it was reduced by half. Upon arrival, the place was packed. Long lines for single slices and not one table empty. Parking can be an issue as well, because you have a lot of people like myself trying to pick up their orders. I ordered a 20 inch pepperoni with mikes hot honey. The pizza is definitely on the pricier side, but 20 inches is huge. You get a lot of pizza and I would say it's definitely worth the price. The crust was amazing, you get the perfect amount of sauce and cheese and they don't skimp you out on the pepperoni. They also add just the perfect amount of hot honey. My entire family loved the pizza and we will without a doubt be returning.

A quick update to my previous reviews after nearly three years of passing up Jimmy's for other options. I still think their pies and slices are on the pricier side, as tax and tip for anything other than the most basic 16" pie puts you close to $40. This makes it a little more expensive than similar pies with fresher ingredients and better flavor from Zaza's, and way more expensive than its closest nearby comp, Pizza Amelia, which tastes very similar. That said, Jimmy's remains a very good neighborhood option, and they offer far more interesting options than a Pizza Amelia or other nearby spots. We love the Bianca Pizza, which is a really good take on a classic NY White Pie, something very few places in Chicago even attempt. The cheese is delicious, accented by the drizzle of olive oil and smattering of garlic and basil. They even get the ricotta right, browned just a little bit on the edges, reminiscent of Lombardi's back home. Just add some salt and pepper and you're home free. I continue to argue that while their dough folds and cracks the way it should, it could use a little bit of seasoning - it's on the bland side. If I'm tough on Jimmy's, it's because it's right on the precipice of being truly great; and, at these prices, it should be.

I haven't stopped talking about this pizza joint. Affordable, by the slice NY pies - it doesn't get much better than that. I got a slice of peach prosciutto and a classic pepperoni + some garlic knots and a drink. For a total of 25 bucks, I was extremely impressed. Service was quick and friendly. It was worth the drive from the city center. Plus, this place landed itself on a very reputable Top 50 pizzas list, so it was cool to say I've been there. Would definitely come back to try some other flavors!

Our go to pizza place in Chicago! Service is good and fast. Price is reasonable. Love their pizza & options. Their truffle fries is okay - wish there was more truffle taste. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well which is nice for summer days. Definitely recommend!

Delicious gooey hot Pepperoni Pizza Slice w a packet of Mike's Hot Honey on top- best way to eat it!

I heart Jimmy's pizza cafe!!! I looove this spot for a delicious, crispy slice. It's excellent thin, flavorful New York style 'za. The slices are quite big so I find it satisfying to stop in for one, then be on my way! They've got a ton of good flavors- meat lovers, mushroom, burrata, buffalo chicken, white, veggie and more. I always go for the classics though- their cheese slice ($5) is great, and the pepperoni ($5.50) slapssss. Add a packet of Mike's Hot Honey (+1.50) and ur in business :) The ambiance is dece, its clean and large and good for groups (they have some pretty big round tables and booths). It can kinda be a zoo on the weekends, packed with families/kids bdays/sports people but since there's no table service (you order at the front) it's still pretty quick and easy going. They've got a soda machine, beer for sale, desserts, garlic knots and more as well. Their choco chip cookie was meh though- I'll stick to the slices!

Do you ever meet someone and just know they're a hard-worker? Because I feel like this is the vibe you'll get when you walk here. Aside from feeling like the people here genuinely want to cook YOU a delicious meal, ordering was simple. They have a kiosk or you can order in person. I DO RECOMMEND GOING IN TO ORDER or pickup. They have a combo menu (wings + fries + drink) that I could not find easily on Uber Eats. Every time I order, the same hardworking guy tells me it'll be a wait and asks if that's okay. Of course it's fine with me because they're cooking to order not leaving food out and waiting to put sauce. Alright now the food, it's good fried chicken with sauces that I don't see in other places. I get soy garlic, honey garlic, sweet Korean, and lemon wasabi. Each sauce is unique and some have a different spice, not "hot hot" but lingering sting, which is an odd thing for me to say, but it's good!! Also, taeboki is an AMAZING Korean side, but a fan favorite for me from here. Anyways, this place is by a busy street (Irving Park) but I feel like it's not given the recognition it deserves. Yeah there's other basic chicken wings nearby by this place has unique sauces and Korean favorites. Also, if you're having a party, you can easily order Jet's pizza next door and wings and Korean dishes from here. A great pairing (though I haven't tried that myself).

I'm not halal myself, but I appreciate supporting diverse dining options. Ordering online was easy though pricy--my four buffalo wings with ranch were ready in 15 minutes and were just over $12 (before tip). Pickup was simple, the staff were friendly, and I even got a bonus fifth wing. There were a few tables inside, but I chose takeout. The wings were jumbo and meaty, but the heavy breading and sauciness made them soggy rather than crispy--just not my preference. If you like thick, saucy breading, you might enjoy them. The first time I placed a takeout order, I unfortunately got sick afterward. The owner reached out and genuinely wanted to make things right, which I appreciated. That's why I decided to give them another chance on my own time and dime and order the same exact meal--I believe a business should be judged by how it handles situations, not just by one-off issues, which can happen anywhere. This time, I didn't get sick! While the wings weren't my style, Cluck'n Wings has friendly service, easy ordering, and fills a niche. If you're looking for halal wings with a saucier, breaded style, it's worth a try.
