Stopped by for a lovely late lunch yesterday in Logan Square. The quinoa salad was delicious, the nuts and grapes gave it good texture and some sweet elements. This was our first time trying the pizza. It was very thin crust, but not crunchy. The ingredients tasted very fresh, just wish it had a little more crisp. walked in super hungry after doing a wine glass paint and sip at Charm bar. It was just what I needed. Cozy inside and had some buzzing with patrons slowly coming in for dinner. We got the Cavatelli (Truffle oil, gouda, cream, bagel crumbs). It was like a fancy mac and cheese. Very umami and comforting but you felt fancy since it is an elevated version. Honestly, I think it's one of the best things I ate this year. I'd come back for that. We wanted the Sweet Steve (V) (Roasted pears, tofu ricotta, arugula, roasted garlic, chili oil) but they were out of roasted pears so we opted for the Paulina (Pepperoni, jalapeño pesto, mozzarella, red sauce). It was a good pizza but the pepperoni was a little too thick for my taste. I did really like the jalapeno pesto. The pizza and pasta both smelled great when they hit the table. Reno is walkable from Logan Square Auditorium and offers indoor and outdoor seating with a wide selection of thin crust pizzas and pastas and many other things. After a show at the auditorium we walked over and were able to snag a nice outdoor table for an early dinner. For the 4 of us, 2 pies were the perfect amount and we finished everything. For our red sauce pizza, we selected the Combo (fennel sausage, cremini mushroom, smoked onion, mozzarella, red sauce) and for the white sauce pizza we got the Philomena (robiola cheese, mozzarella, arugula, truffle oil). I think we selected the best two that complemented each other. The combo was heavier and meatier while the Philomena was earthy and fresh at the same time. Vegans, stop scrolling - though it doesn't usuall pop up on Google Maps under "vegan," you definitely need to check out Reno! I work just around the corner from Reno, and I love coming to Reno both as a casual lunch spot or a cute dinner before enjoying the rest of Logan Square. And let me just say it: lots of great stuff for vegans! A pizza called Sweet Steve, two different lunch sandwiches, and the rigatoni...ooh I've had that rigatoni a lot....I didn't take a picture, but it's a delicious and warming bowl of pasta that is always good. Recently I had the Kale Salad (yumm) then a side of potatoes with an egg on top (sorry, vegans). It was absolute perfection. They even make salads delicious here! How do they do it! I personally enjoy sitting at the bar and watching whatever they've got on VHS and seeing if the mustache on the TV lines up with the actor. It's like cocomelon to me. Fond memories here include dining before catching a movie just up the street, having a superb lunch here by myself after a really hard day at work, taking my friend here for her bday before exploring the rest of the Square, and more! My family and I went to Reno Chicago in Logan Square for lunch, and it was a good experience. The ambiance is definitely pub style with an eclectic look to it. Logan Square is a hipster neighborhood in Chicago and Reno Chicago definitely fits the neighborhood. They have a neat wall decor of old beer cans that spell out "Reno" which is a great attraction to the restaurant. We immediately were greeted by our server when we sat down and she took our order. The menu has pub style food along with sandwiches, salads, and entrees. I ordered the kale salad with grilled chicken. The salad was extremely fresh and tasted amazing! My father had the chicken parmesan sandwich and he enjoyed it very much! Everyone enjoyed their food! The service was great and the staff made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. This was a good choice for lunch by my cousin, and I could see why he likes Reno Chicago because it is a great neighborhood restaurant where people hang out on a regular basis. It is too bad I do not live in Chicago, because this is a place I could see myself coming to on a regular basis for a drink or a light lunch. love this place! i think the pizzas are great, but i now know to never order for carry out again. it doesn't travel well, must be enjoyed there. second thing: grilled focaccia? that's absolutely not focaccia and it's definately not grilled. it's pretty much cheese sticks, cooked in a wood burning oven---a white 4 cheese pie cut in strips. item description doesn't match the food. last thing: when i came in to grab my take out, i stood at the front for at least 5 minutes. 2 guests at the bar were funny and trying to make noise to draw their servers attention. didn't work. anyway, i walked around and found the worker, he was standing up in a little hallway eating and carrying on w a line cook, he did apologize, but just pointed at where my food was. better customer service next time. i understood it's the end of the night and that's why i did to go, you should understand how to expodite. read more

One thing to note: Reno has more and more become an early evening child dinner zone. Although it's not too, too bad. Came back to Reno for a second time because we saw that they are pretty well known for their bagel sandwiches. We got the Bloody Mary, the egg BLT, and the Nando on everything bagels. I also added onion & chive cream cheese to the egg BLT and it was delicious! Not pictured but we also got a side of potatoes and bacon and their bacon is absolutely the best and their Bloody Mary is one of my favorites in the city. Reno has been one of my favorite places since they opened. It's where I tend to go for a girls' night dinner and catch up with BFFs. I don't usually order delivery, but did a bunch during the pandemic. Sometimes I used GrubHub (probably because I had a GC or credit) and then you'd get that passive-aggressive note about ordering directly from them because of the fees GrubHub imposes on businesses (even though GH was an option they provided) and sometimes my order would be wrong. Today, I ordered a Southwest Salad. That's it, one Southwest Salad. The person responsible for QA'ing to-go orders and I have a very different idea of what a Southwest salad is, and they sent the Spring Green salad, which looks terribly unappealing and smells bad. Knowing they have a disdain for GrubHub, it definitely felt like a big FU for ordering through them. I was out of town for 12 days due to a medical emergency with my father who then passed away this week and got back late last night. A BFF had sent me a GrubHub GC so I wouldn't have to worry about food, and I really wanted the Southwest salad from one of my favorite places. And by the time the wrong food showed up, I was so hungry I ended up eating one of the emergency vegan tamales from River Valley Ranch in my freezer, which is what I was trying to avoid and instead wanted a delicious salad to help comfort and nourish me while I'm overtired and underfed and mourning my father. Please do better, Reno. Just as with anything in life, you never know what a person is going through. read more

Reno is another place that I had almost unbookmarked. I'm really glad I gave them a shot, because everything we ordered was amazing. We arrived late in the evening on the last night of dining in. There were about 4 people standing waiting for their take out orders as they weren't doing dine in orders but were given the option to order at the bar and sit at the community table. We took that offer as we were prepared to dine in. The rest is history. We started off with their Garlic Focaccia. A pizza style cheese bread. But they used Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds and sprinkled chives and cotija cheese on top, garlic butter, and served with marinara sauce in the middle. It was so delicious and filling. We had initially ordered their hot wings, for $11 and you only get 7 wings, but they had suggested to take advantage of their Dollar wings on Monday's. So we ordered 11 of them. Four bbq, four honey, and 3 hot. I've never been a big fan of bbq sauce on wings, but Reno did it right! The wings with honey on them were my favorite but I forgot the actual name for them, since they're not in the menu. Their hot wings were phenomenal and perfectly executed. They were made from Tapatio. Yes! Tapatio! All I can say is wow. I've never tried anything like this. They are spicy, but with just the perfect amount. And you're able to taste the Tapatio with every bite. I think I have found my new wing place! We also ordered their Fancy Nancy. A margherita style pizza, with pepperoni and Burrata in the middle. It was topped with basil, mozzarella and red sauce. The pizza was very delicious. It had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce, and they didn't skimp on the pepperoni. I would have preferred the crust to be a little bit more burnt to add some additional flavor, but overall a near perfect pizza. The Burrata was a nice touch, as I've never had that on a pizza. They're located at the heart of Logan Square and was a perfect find/pick up spot on a rainy Saturday They have a lot of class yet create options eg white mushroom sauce paired with chorizo, or like this Paulina with pepperoni, jalapeno pesto, mozzarella, and tomato. Classic yet with a nice kick & smokiness from the jalapeno Highly recommend if you like wood fire thin crusts, nice and crispy + good bite/chew, classic yet "with a twist" options. Not too filling or heavy yet satisfying that makes you asking for more. They ALSO have really good veggie options eg Spanish Monster (mushroom sauce & more cremini mushrooms) or Alley Dop with sundried tomatoes, garlic, & leek I want to try the Spanish Monster and the smoked chicken or carnitas one next time. A word of warning: This place does not take plastic. There are signs all over stating: "Cash Only". Yet, today, I witnessed a woman trying to pay with a card. She was embarrassed and copped a little attitude. The server was professional and defused the situation with no issue. If you haven't been here, I highly recommend it. Two words - garlic focaccia We live in the neighborhood and have been here a few times for brunch and dinner. It's always solid, the pizzas are creative the ingredients fresh and the salads tasty. I returned recently with a friend as started with the garlic focaccia. It's not really focaccia, but I forgive it for not being true to form. It's more like a garlicky, cheese curd-y flatbread with marinara sauce balancing out the richness of the cheese. For our main, we got the burrata pizza, which was very tasty, but in hindsight I would've treated the focaccia as our main and accompanied it with a salad or veggie. Reno's the type of place we can drop in for a solid meal or swing by with a friend or family and grab a satisfying meal at a reasonable price. If I wasn't lazy, I'd swing by in the mornings and pick up bagels. I will say, it will hard to order anything other than the garlic focaccia going forward. read more

Our Air BnB's hosts wrote this place down as a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Our first meal once we arrived in Chicago was a great one. We heard great things about their pizzas and it's not Chicago style, but it's still so delicious, especially with the burrata cheese right on top of it, yum!!! Husband washed it down with some beer and I got a soda and we ended our meal with key lime pie, which was really good as well. The only minor issue I have with the place is that it's cash only, and wished it was clearly advertised outside of the restaurant, but luckily we had cash so it didn't matter. read more
