I called Jimmy's Rims & Tires as my tires were 9 1/2 yrs old and we were heading into winter again- plus we'd had an issue during a bad rainstorm snd a mechanic told us- part of the problem was the tread was going. Called Jimmy's as I'm local to Subset park. He texted right away- asked for a photo of our current tires so he could match them. I did- he had to order them. Once they arrived, we made an arrangement for me to drop the car off- his crew was very attentive... and they replaced the tires within a couple of hours. All went well! Sadly- one of the tires got a huge nail stuck in it a couple months later- was out of state at the time so replaced it at a Midas. Had my tires shipped to one shop in Brooklyn but upon arrival they could not install them due to their machine giving issues with wide rims. I was just about to head to Costco tire center when someone recommended Jimmys tire shop. I stopped by and within minutes the guys went to work. Got my old wheels taken off, new tires mounted and balanced on larger rims and installed. All took less than 30 minutes. These guys do a great job and while waiting, you can see how much business they get. Car after car. Only gripe is, like any other tire shop, they over tighten the lug nuts with their impact guns. Good luck changing a tire on the side of the road when you can't even untighten the lug nuts. Suggest everyone invest in a torque wrench to get it to spec. At the end of the day, I got the work done in 30 minutes and for a great price. read more

These guys work FAST probably took 20min to dismount old tires and mount new ones. The shop is chill. You can get rims here, tires, also do Powder Coating. I hate to write this, but I went to Jimmys to get some new rubber install and when I got home, I found out that they forgot to install 1 lug bolt in my front wheel. I'm pretty upset about this, not only did they not cared to check their work but they put me in danger on my drive back home. Had I got into an accident for that reason, it would be a lawsuit in the works. This place is great! When all hope was lost, Jimmy's Tire Shop really helped me out of a jam. Quick, no-nonsense service within an hour. Highly recommended! If you need a more in-depth testimonial than that, keep reading... My tires had been kind of worn down for a while, nothing too alarming but I knew I'd have to get around to replacing them eventually, but with an upcoming road trip (for thanksgiving) and a recent unexpected snowstorm that crippled the entire region. I realized that unless I wanted to get stranded in an icy ditch somewhere then I really needed new tires FAST. Like we've all become trained to do, I immediately went online browsed around and scheduled an appointment at another place near me in Brooklyn (a national chain auto parts and service store that rhymes with "strep noise"). According to their website they had some all season tires in stock for my car. Based on my exhaustive work-lunch-break-online research of skimming consumer reports articles and youtube videos, I decided the tires they had weren't exactly what I was looking for. But time was tight so I didn't feel like I had many options and I bought some totally unexciting tires from a shop with 2 1/2 stars on Yelp. Hindsight makes me wonder why at this point I didn't question this whole situation, but I was busy and I just wanted to get this all over with. The next day I dutifully showed up for my 9AM (on a Saturday, wtf) appointment only to learn that "strep noise" didn't actually have the tires in stock. Buttwads. After that I actually had to go home and contact their customer support to cancel the order, because they apparently can't cancel orders from the store. Double buttwads. By now my situation was starting to feel bleak. My online searches had become more agitated, I was calling around to every shop I could find with no luck, I drove all over town to every place I could think of and almost gave up before as a last ditch shot in the dark I decided to go check if Costco had tires. That place is huge, they have to, right? Pulling into Costco, like some sort of cartoon protagonist, I spoke out loud to myself "No f**king way." and did a smooth 39 point turn to maneuver myself out of the gridlocked parking lot. Driving south under the gloomy eternal shadow of the BQE on 3rd avenue, I gave up. I resigned myself to the icy ditch of destiny. When all was lost, suddenly the sun punched a f**king hole through the afternoon sky and like a spotlight from god it fully illuminated the magnificent banners of Jimmy's Tires. Jimmy's was buzzing with activity, poor souls rolling up on flat tires, car enthusiasts with smoking wheels, moms in vans, Lyft drivers, families in SUVs. A huge swath of humanity and automotive tire care needs were represented that day. After finishing up with another customer Jimmy asked what I was looking for determined that they didn't have my size tires in stock (in a brand I wanted anyway), but he was determined to help so he started making some calls. He took my number and gave me a call when they showed up about an hour later. The amazing staff got everything installed in about 20 minutes, like some sort of roadside pit crew for people with practical station wagons. In the end, I got better tires for a lower price and a much better (and more human) experience all around. I drove away happy. My car had a bent rim from driving over a pothole which made my car shake when driving over 65MPH. After looking around for a decent shop, I found this place and decided to give them a try. I paid Jimmy 600 dollar and had all 4 rims straightened, powder coated, and a new set of tires put on, but after picking my car up I still felt a slight vibration when driving over 65MPH and one of my hub caps fell off on the way home, but I was nice about it and decided to buy another one on my expense. I mentioned the vibration to Jimmy and he recommended to do a high speed balance, they did a high speed balance but the vibration was not improved. I then took the car to a Mercedes dealership who inspected my suspension and rims, and found that all four rims were slightly bent! I mentioned it to Jimmy again, and he decided to ignore me and go ghost. But that's not it, there's more! After two weeks of doing the first initial repair on the rims, I hit a pothole on the FDR which blew my tire, when I tried to change the tire, I couldn't because the bolts were overly tightened, so I had to call roadside assistance to help me. Road side assistance arrived with power tools and still couldn't take my rim off, so I was forced to tow the car to the nearest Mercedes dealership. After waiting for about 12 hours, Mercedes was able to take the rim off by drilling the bolts out because they were over tightened by Jimmy and stripped, I have invoices from Mercedes themselves stating that, AND I had to pay 500 dollars for his mistake. I told Jimmy about it, and he didn't care, I was still being patient and just took the loss on myself. While Mercedes was struggling with the rim, they ended up scratching it and I had to powder coat it again and paid Jimmy 200 dollars, 50 dollars EXTRA. Horrible experience, I was really nice and patient the whole time but in the end I was treated like nothing. I'm now stuck with bent rims which I have to fix for another 600 dollars by another shop, and took a 1100 dollar loss from Jimmy. I'm done being nice, I'm taking this to small claims court and suing for my 1100 dollars back. Thanks for wasting my time. read more
