I've known Jim's autobody since I was 16 years old before they even moved on Monument Boulevard. They get 2 stars for doing the work. I have always trusted them as they've worked on a couple of vehicles in the past, this time I am more than disappointment. They had my car for two weeks did the repairs as requested but unfortunately they said they called me that the car was done and yet I have no voicemail or missed calls from the shop and that extra time cost me $165 at the enterprise Rent-A-Car and of course they were completely unapologetic and said I must've missed a call even though I told them I did not have any missed calls. Now, I brought it back because they said if I notice anything, please bring it back, which I have done. There were some buffing swirl marks on the roof just above the passenger door. That is the only side of the car that they worked on and yet somehow I got a perfectly washed and waxed car back and they never used a buffer on the roof, I've never had any swirl marks on my car ever I took it to another shop and they said that is because they buffed it when they painted it to get off the overspray. When I brought it in to show them, their response was quick and direct. We don't do any buffing must have been there. I've been around body shops, and in every single case the cars are washed, waxed and buffed so for somebody to tell me that they didn't touch it with a buffer and the swirl marks are something that was there before or maybe possibly done by a car wash machine which I haven't used, I am telling everybody I know never go back to Jim's even though I have known the owner and his son and trusted them my entire life. Additionally the staff is rude, unfeeling and snotty. Again most disappointed I've ever been in a business I use to trust. read more

Jim's Auto Body is a very professional business and I would recommend them to anyone. I had my first loss accident and they happen to be in my insurance's network. First off, they were quick to return emails and calls. I also had no issue coming in first thing to get an estimate. Since they were in my insurance's network, they handled everything for me very efficiently. Secondly, they were very transparent with what was happening and provided me updates. We had a little delay because they saw that I actually needed an additional part and they ordered it immediately. Additionally, they were very thorough with explanations and documentation. When I chose Jim's from Geicos preferred list, I read the reviews and felt like I made a good choice. Jim's have contracts with Geico, if you have geico and are using enterprise rental, this is a one stop shop. Everything is in the same place, which made it super convenient. Repair was done fast and I can't say nothing bad about the repair, which is to replace the seat cover on my driver seat. Complete cosmetic. When I left, despite the good repairs, I felt like Jim didn't care about my safety or really about my car. When I dropped off the car and picked up the car, office staff were not friendly. I was given the feeling that I walked into the wrong place both times. When I dropped off the car, I told the tech my tired are low on air. Nothing wrong with the tires just needed so air, since I'm getting repair here, can you just fill it up after? It's not a biggie right? He said ok. When I picked up the car? The car had not been driven in a while so of course the tire pressure gone down even more. And nope, no air was put in the tire. I literally drove the car right across the street to American Tires to get a free air check. Come on. You're really gonna let me drive away in with my tires 10 lbs lighter on each one? So I can get into an accident and come back again? I had my car wash about a week ago, it's not super dirty but usually when I put my car in a shop, I'm always offered a car wash after the repair. Especially the work are being done on the inside. I had my upholstery replaced, shouldn't you at least vacuum the inside? I just picked up my car today, and they did an amazing job! My car looks about brand new again! They took care of everything from start to finish. Someone hit the back of my car in a parking lot, damaging the bumper. Took it to Jim's because they had good reviews and had past family experience there. Made an appointment online and when I arrived, they spoke with me fairly quickly. Junior was the one who talked to me about the work I needed. He was friendly and explained everything clearly. They quoted a price that seemed fair to me, parts matched the Toyota website prices and the labor was not expensive at all. I was told getting the replacement bumper would take a bit because of COVID so they set me up with an appointment a week later to come back for the work once they put the order in. When I brought it for the actual work, they had the car for 3 days, updating me throughout via text about the process. I got a call the day before it was ready to let me know they were almost done. Once it was ready, they had me out with my car right away. The work they did was great, couldn't even tell it was a new bumper at all. Junior was even nice enough to answer my questions I had about fixing a small dent I had on the side, being honest about the difficulty of fixing it and giving me tips on using cover up paint. Can't speak highly enough for Jim's auto body on Monument Blvd. Due to a couple of unfortunate events I had to bring my vehicle to Jim's twice in 2 months. Excellent quality and great customer service. They go above and beyond to do everything reasonably possible to keep the customer happy. Dana was kind enough to give me daily progress updates . The manager was always ready to lend a helping hand every time I went to the shop. The receptionist and all other working personnel were just as accommodating! Cost wise I didn't get other estimates so I don't know how they compare to other local body shops but they're definitely reasonable. And with the customer service and quality they offer there is no need for me to look elsewhere. I went here when I wrecked my car, because my insurance is partnered with them. Let's start with this crazy roller coaster of repairs... I went back in August 2016 to get my car fixed regarding suspension and front axels, many parts were replaced. I read these reviews HOPING this place would be sufficient and at least get the job done so I could get over this car nightmare. Seemed like a lot of nice reviews with a sprinkle of bad experiences. So I have my car towed here and they work on it. Well, they call me to let me know they were finished and I could pick up my car- great! I was over riding Uber/Lyft everywhere. However, I pick up my car and when I break my car is SHAKING. Any trained technician would have never looked over something this major, let alone let a customer drive off the lot like this. So I make a u turn right back to them and have them fix it. They give me a rental for the inconvenience, so that is nice (one star for that). Now here we are May 2017 and I hear a rattle (oh no). So I take it back because I have a lifetime warranty. They have an insurance agent test drive the car (yes you heard me a representative for my insurance not a mechanic/technician) after one of the technicians in the back checks out the behind the tire area they primarily worked on. Woman tells me she doesn't hear anything (but I told them it wasn't a constant rattle, it was on and off and mostly occurred when I went over bumps). So she does a ride a long and We both agree it must not be too serious, so I go ahead and take my car to my trusted auto shop, Top Shop Auto (amazing work is done there), and they find the problem IMMEDIATELY. When speaking with the manager here (at jims) over the phone he claims the piece that was messed up in my car, that again Top Shop Auto found immediately, the manager here (at jims) says "that's impossible". Turns out the cause of the part was due to improper installation. I now have the part and paperwork to prove it. Never coming here again- lifetime warranty was useless. Honestly, based on the other bad reviews here it has to do with customer service, but also customer CARE. They really don't care for their customers cars and don't have any detail orientation. Cars are expensive, investing in the right auto shop is vital! Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere, and if your insurance allows it, take your insured repairs somewhere else too. read more

I dropped my car off at Jim's body shop (Concord) as they were one of my insurance preferred providers. Close by, read great reviews so with a great deal of skepticism I reluctantly fell into the process; after all I was leaving a $50,000, brand new car in the hands of people I knew little of. I arrived at Jim's auto body shop and was greeted by Dana, who would be looking over my car. With me by his side he began the daunting task of reviewing just the visible damage that extended from the rear all the way down the passenger side. Dana, was considerate and spoke to me in a courteous manner while preparing me for the possibilities of greater damage once they had it on the lift. You know those old sayings "first impressions are everything" and "It's not what you say, it's how you say it" FIVE STARS for first impressions. Those five stars extend to the office staff as well! They were helpful and polite and more than tolerate of my calls. Our car is new (as in not only new to us but a whole new car to the market) so there were some challenges along the way with parts and lets not forget Covid-19 which too added to the mix. As the weeks rolled by there were very few, but none the less frustrations however, those frustrations were met each and every time by either Dana or Darrin, both provided honest and accurate updates on a regular basis and sometimes even daily. Their commitment to communication was/is what kept us feeling good about our decision to leave our car with Jim's Auto Body. And then there was the pick up day! Excitement in air. Darrin asked me if I would arrive around 10:30, I arrived at 10:32 and there she was parked out front as if on display to show the world the work that had been done. WHAT? I am speechless as to the work that was done, the paint job, the wheels that looked like someone had hand waxed, buffed, shined and repeated the process, the inside no joke cleaner than when we bought it. I will reserve using the word "perfection" just to make sure in a few weeks things don't start rattling around but something tells me I am in good hands. Whenever you enter into a business of any kind customer service is paramount. Please don't take your car here, Especially if you have a brand new car! As much as you value a brand new car you're investing in, these guys DO NOT CARE!My boyfriend got his passenger window smashed and broken into on his brand new 2020 And because Allstate partners with Jim's we took it there. We go in to get the car repaired on a Friday and talk to Steve, says car should be ready by Wednesday.Same day he calls us saying he's in contact with the insur. and that he will keep us posted. Wednesday comes and no phone call from Steve with any updates on how work was coming along. We go in there,show face, he looks at us, doesn't greet us, doesn't acknowledge us, just gets up from his desk and walks outside! Lady at the front desk offers to help us and we told her we were there to see Steve so she pages him to come to the front. We told him we were there to see the status of the car, He said "Oh Yeah let me check!" He then goes on the computer and lists all the parts including the glass that they've received and says the car should be painted tomorrow since there was paint damage when they broke into the car and the glass should also be installed. He then says "Car should be ready tomorrow, but to be sure I'm going to say Friday! So I'll call you when it's ready!" We waited patiently until Friday around 4pm to see if we would get a call saying the car is ready and again NO CALL FROM STEVE!We called and asked the status of the car,Steve said the car was ready when we called!Had we not called at 4pm, our car would have just sat there another night and nobody cared to stay in contact with us. At this point, We were so unhappy JUST with the customer service.We get there to pick up the car, guess what?! STEVE "FORGOT" to tell us they didn't put a tint on the front window the way we had it because it's "illegal"! Okay I get it the insurance doesn't want to pay or take part for something that is illegal, I totally understand but at this point you had our car for a whole week! How do you forget to tell us that! So now we have ALL windows on the vehicle tinted except the front passenger window! That's ridiculous!A simple phone call letting us know could have had us prepared to immediately take the car once we've picked it up to take it to get tinted! But most tinting business were closed at this point or booked by appointment so now we are driving our vehicle around with all tints but one, until we can get an appointment to get it tinted! At this point I said, NEVER AGAIN! I will NEVER take my car here again! They couldn't even vacuum up all the glass correctly when we picked up the vehicle, something they charged the insurance for according to the invoice they charged them "glass clean up"! Next thing we notice the window begins to click! Not even click, scrape!! It begins to scrape the new window that was just placed! So there we go again! Taking our car back to Jim's to tell them about the problem!! They take it to the back and say "oh yeah it feels like there's a piece of glass stuck in there" they check it out and come back and say "Looks like the regulator is bent, we will have to call the insurance and get approval"! How do you miss a bent regulator and not only that how is there glass stuck in the trimming when again, according to the invoice, you charged the insurance for a replacement of the window trimming!!! It started to seem like they were charging the insurance for parts and services they didn't provide!! At this point, my boyfriend called the insurance and told them we want to go through the dealer and no longer want Jim's to work on it. They came back and said "He has to complete the work where he started!" Which is not true!! But my boyfriend didn't want to make it a bigger deal and gave Jim's another shot! It took Jim's more than a WEEK to call us and say the part was there and that we can take the vehicle in to replace it. So he we go taking the car in Monday morning, to get this "bent" regulator in! They said "it should take an hour to and hour and a half"! Which we decided we'd wait there for the car! 20 mins later, "Your car is all done!" Well that was quick! Which sometimes it's nice for things to be done faster than expected but not when they rush it and not do the work correctly! We get in the car and yet another problem!! The door begins to click!! Not a regular click either, kind of like when there's a dent and you push on it and it keeps popping out!! At this point my boyfriend and I are fed up!! They just couldn't do any of they jobs correctly! It's ridiculous how much we pay in insurance and how much we invest in these vehicles for a body shop to not do their job right! Allstate should NOT partner with Jim's auto body! I will not recommend anyone to this shop! At this point, we will be taking our car to the dealer and paying any damages to the door out of pocket because we are done dealing with Jim's!!! read more

They helped me with figuring out insurance since I had different ways to go, the rental car was super easy since Enterprise is right next door, the estimate was quick and I couldn't believe how quickly they got the parts in and fixed my car. I was involved in an accident a few weeks ago that required repair to the rear end of my Tacoma Truck. I chose Jims simply because it was recommended by the insurance company. I went here for an insurance estimate through Farmers. I was very disappointed. They didn't seem to care about my car. They estimated over $2000 below the actual cost to fix it. They wrote it up for two stage paint when it should have been three stage. The young receptionist clearly was an airhead because she could barely walk in her heels. Overall a bad vibe and I ended up going elsewhere. I had to get the entire estimate rewritten because Jim's estimator didn't know what he was doing. My insurance company gave me three options in Concord to fix some parking lot damage discovered overnight. Driving by the first one, I was appalled and was praying that not all of them would look so bad, when I came upon Jim's clean exterior with nice landscaping and easy parking. This was it. I wasn't even going to bother finding shop #3. Walking into their large and clean office, I was greeted immediately by Paul F., who has turned out to be one of the best guys I've ever dealt with in terms of car service. He's down-to-earth, tells it like it is, and has a great sense of customer service. He even talked me out of some extras I thought I wanted fixed while the truck was in, mainly because it really wasn't worth the money and would likely become damaged again... a very fatherly approach, which I really appreciated. The work was done faster than expected, and was gorgeous. Not only was the damage repaired to perfection, but the truck came back immaculately cleaned and detailed. Before I left with the truck I was made to understand that all work is guaranteed, and should I be dissatisfied for any reason, they would do their best to make it right. I give Jim's five stars. Our garage is a bit narrow for our two cars and though I pride myself in my ability to judge distances I managed to grind the rear quarter panel of my 2013 BMW in to the wood trim of our garage. It looked to me as if it could be buffed out (the car finish being harder than wood and paint) and I would have been happy to pay someone with the right tools to do it but the fella that came out for the estimate just walked back inside and returned with a couple of bottles of liquid and went to work. I hadn't dented it so it was just a matter or removing the layer of house paint on the car's finish. We had a couple of laughs and I asked him what I could give him for his time but he just asked my opinion of an electrical wiring issue--it came up that I am an engineer--and requested that I bring back the business if I had the misfortune of an accident. I saw a similar post and it was spot. On. This place is not for their customers. I took my car here for an estimate of damage done and they were back and forth with giving an estimate and not. There was damage to the back and the front and said it was a liability to even give a quote or look under the hood since the back was damaged so badly. I asked if I got the back fixed at another shop and came back if they could then proceed with an estimate for the front damage since that was the only thing I needed an estimate for. They said ok, I brought the car back with the back of it fixed so they could proceed with doing a tear down to tell me the total damage for the front so I could get an estimate from the insurance company. And they still found an excuse to not help. The employees here are extremely rude, unprofessional, poor communication skills, and are a complete waste of time. If an insurance company refers them - save yourself the time and headache and do NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! My car sat in their shop for almost a whole month with zero updates and ended up taking my car somewhere else for an ESTIMATE that they were too lazy to do! Jim's In Walnut Creek is a completely different shop compared to this one. I do not recommend to any one. Horrible service. read more

I took my truck to Jim's and I was told to cancel l my claim because it would be less than my deductible so I did..... This place has been great. They have gone above and beyond in every possible measure to ensure everything went so smoothly with my repairs. Someone backed in to my car, and their insurance (State Farm), as well as mine (Nationwide) both are listed as select companies, and their claim service/system made everything flow quickly, and extremely smooth. They had all of the information in that system, and the paperwork was minimal. The repairs were done flawlessly, and their service was absolutely top notch. Every time I called or had a question, they responded incredibly quickly, and always with a thorough answer that exceeded my expectations. They finished the work prior to their expected date/time, and the car is better than new! This was my first time as a Jim's Auto Body Shop customer and I enjoyed doing business with them. My car was broken into and the rear passenger window was broken; Thus needing to be replaced. Ryan (Jim's Auto Body), Dave (Enterprise), and Chris (GEICO) were absolutely superb in taking care of me and getting me out within a couple of hours. Upon return to my vehicle a week later, I noticed the extreme attention to detail and labor going into my car. Ryan and the other staff members were absolutely professional and went above and beyond what any auto body shop would do.
