    Pastrami sandwich with fries.

We hadn't been in awhile. The grouchy lady behind the counter kept us away. We just tried it again after hearing it was under new management. All the overhead fans were on so it was a bit chilly. The food wasn't exactly prompt. There were only 3 other tables occupied. I ordered a Pastrami sandwich with fries and a soda. The bad news...the pastrami was not render at all. We couldn't eat it. The good news is we let the owners know and they offered us a cheeseburger instead. Apparently the pastrami had been grilled instead of cooking it in a pot because they ran out. They were very apologetic and we appreciated their response. The moral of the story is; don't complain on Yelp if you don't give management a chance to make it right. We will definitely be back. I'm giving it a 5 because of the response we received.

Angelic/Angelica, the cashier, was very friendly and helpful, answered all my questions even upsold me on the Waffle, add bacon and eggs. $22.64, crazy! waffle was very disappointing. Butter already spread in it, waffle undercooked on bottom, was actually white. The bacon would have been amazing except was cooked so hard broke at first bite, the eggs were good. The Iced Tea was also good. Fun concept, Hugh billboard menu, Burgers and eggs meant I could get breakfast all day, started out excited. The decor and seating was good, lots of booths and half boots. Great outdoor patio. Just do not order the Waffle !

It's fun to try a new breakfast place. However, when you have a great "go-to" place, there's always the risk of disappointment. This time there was disappointment. Nice diner vibe with local business ads laminated to the tables. Sort of cozy. When we got there, I first noticed there were several tables that were a mess from previous customers. Maybe they were very busy earlier? Either way, the kid that eventually cleaned the tables had very little motivation. We thought it was a sit down restaurant, but you order at the counter and they bring your food out when it's ready. Personally, I prefer the traditional sitting down and ordering procedure better. We had breakfast. I got the eggs with hamburger patty. The food was just mediocre. And, it took about 20 minutes to get to our table. I then had to send it back because there a missing item. I wanted a coffee re-fill and they were out of coffee. Really? This was 45 minutes before closing. I'm sure they weren't out of coffee, I suspect they just didn't want to brew another pot. Strange behavior for a breakfast spot. When we first arrived, we talked about coming back on another day to try lunch, but that's not likely to happen now...

Daily Special ... oops I meant to take this before I ate it

The food was good - home style cooking cafe style. Nothing fancy but good, hearty portions, and decent prices! Order at the counter and they deliver to your table. Definitely not fast food but it came out pretty quickly.

Map is to help you get to Butters in Scottsdale.

Been many times. Today sucked. 2 people....2 omelets. 1 hour to get food. 4 groups of 4 received food before us and they ordered after us. $40 Should have driven an hour yo Butters in Scottsdale. More food, friendlier, cleaner, quicker and a way better value in price. Sorry to whoever ever now owns Jim's, but please sell to someone that has a true passion to run this place. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN to BUTTERS....follow map below.

After moving to Arizona, I had a hard time finding a burger place that was the equivalent to places I used to go to in CA. Finally I found Jim's and I love the food and the atmosphere. What really sends this place over the edge is their prices. They are the best burger/breakfast burrito for your money. They also offer banana peppers!

We ordered the ham steak and eggs w/ O'Brien potatoes and toast (see the picture), a side of pancakes, country fried steak and eggs, and a 2-egg breakfast w/sausage and hashbrowns. The ham steak comes with red eye gravy. I didn't know what that was and hated it. So I scraped it off and used their fresh salsas instead, and it was so dang good. The pancakes were also delicious. They were light and fluffy and had a touch of sweetness. I used the strawberry jam from the toast on the pancake and I think it made it even better. The gravy from the chicken fried steak was also a hit! The food was 95% good, but there were a couple of hiccups. The hash browns were burnt darker than dark. I feel like they should've never made it out of the kitchen. Also, the jalapeño cheddar biscuit was very thick and stodgy. I also got a specialty latte (can't remember which) and that was bitter and not at all something I'd get again. To recap: you can't go wrong with the pancakes or chicken fried steak. Make sure to ask for salsa. Skip the latte. Overall the experience was great and I'd go back next time we're in town.

A friend and I visited this restaurant on 06/22/2026 at 9:00am for breakfast. The dining area was not busy with just 3-4 tables occupied and a few people at the barstools. I was seated quickly by a hostess and given two menus while waiting for my friend to arrive. Menu: it's about the size of a Sears Catalog (exaggeration but about 8+ pages front and back) and appears to serve food approved by the United Nations (food from different parts of the world). This is the type of menu Gordon Ramsey would go crazy over and shred to pieces. Portions are not larger than before but prices increased considerably! Food: I ordered a Veggie Omelette with Spinach added and Whole Wheat Toast, decaf coffee, and water. My friend ordered an all-meat skillet, sourdough toast, coffee, and water. The omelette/skillet was overcooked and dry. My friend sent back his toast because it was served with a MOLD SPOT on it. Our server was not swayed by the mold and replaced it. No apologies or contact from the managers. By this point, we just didn't want to finish what we ordered and left. Dining room is well lit and spacious. Lots of available seating but could not help that their "Grand Opening" sign has been hanging outside for WEEKS. Servers are slow and never seem to be pleasant (more melancholy). Overheard one server speaking with some guests at a table using profanity. This review was based on my individual experience. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but clearly is no longer the case. Having watched the gradual decline in quality and service, I am no longer inspired to spend my money at AZ Diner.

I had never been to First Watch before, but I expected a wait. I checked in and was quoted 25 minutes for a party of four. After 30 minutes, I checked in again and was told I was second in line. A few more minutes went by, so I asked again, and now I was fifth in line. I was confused, and they explained that people checking in online could jump ahead of me. They also said they were unable to accurately quote a wait time, and that it could end up being much longer. I know many other places use a hybrid check-in system, and I've never experienced an issue like this. I understand when things simply take longer than expected, but tables were being turned over and people were being seated. I must have just been incredibly unlucky with the timing of people checking in online. After finally being seated about 45 minutes later, we put our order in right away since we were now going to be cutting it close. I'm used to breakfast places being pretty quick, but it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We ended up being 15 minutes late to the movie. I expected the opening credits to still be rolling, so I wasn't too stressed, but we definitely missed the first five minutes or so of the movie. The food was pretty good, but my eggs were over hard when I had ordered them over medium. What disappointed me the most was that nobody seemed to care that the quoted wait time was so far off. There was no apology or acknowledgment. Our waitress was okay, but she avoided our table like the plague while we were waiting for our food, probably because she knew it was taking so long. Empathy and kind words go a long way.
