I had a blowout on a double axle trailer that was overloaded with 3 totes of driveway coating (850 gallons) on HWY 126 after 5 PM. When I called Jim's towing, Javier recommended I take the spare tire (that was flat) to Castaic because "Benny's Tire" is open until midnight. When I returned with the fixed spare tire, Javier met me at the sight 5 miles east of Fillmore. My trailer was on a slight grade just off the shoulder that made the situation even worse and dangerous for repair... I really thought During the repair the 'tongue jack' collapsed due to the weight, the slope of trailer and a terrible weld job on the trailer jack. And to add to this forgettable evening that I put myself in, Javier showed me that the brakes on the trailer wheel were in pieces when he rotated the wheel before installing the tire. Javier was able to get the trailer back on my truck and I'm now home alive 100 miles north of Fillmore. When I originally asked what the cost would be to do the work, he said it depended on how things went. Javier was on a mission to help me get back on the road and make it as safe as possible for me to get home. He took a bad and dangerous situation and made it the best he could. It's heartbreaking enough that my mother had to go through an accident, but to then have her car towed by a company that sees that moment of vulnerability as an opportunity to steal is beyond disgusting. My daughter was in an accident, car was not drivable, police called Jim's to have car towed about 1 mile if even that and charged $350 fukn dollars plus tax..$367. Honestly did not know this was a rip off, never had this happen before, until people informed us this was ridiculous pricing. I called the yard to find out pricing to make sure driver wasn't trying to come up on some cash and the rude ass personal who answered stated towing starts at $350 and up depending on tow. I highly suggest if ever in need of tow DO NOT use this towing co!! Had my daughter not been overwhelmed and in shock she would have used her insurance. The prices for this tow company are exponentially higher than they should be, it's like they want to make it so costly to get your car towed or released that you eventually give up and just lose the car. $380 just for the tow and $77.50 per day for storage. My motor home was towed by them after waiting for the police report from chp and insurance Co. Then called jims for amount to release it. It was towed only a mile and half away. Went to confront them about the missing money and they claim nothing ever goes missing in their yard, which is a lie! They don't even have "working" cameras to review. I am posting this for posterity as Jim's was the impound extortionist called to an ILLEGAL (Boise v. Martin, 9th circuit) seizure of a trailer from my self I had stopped on a public way, because several of my FOUR solar panels I had just bought had been getting loose and were at risk of taking sail. I warned the driver at the time that I had not fixed all the panels yet and to please strap them down or take extra precaution not to let them blow off in the wind. The driver did not such thing and I had to leave (I was ordered to). I don't know what condition my toy hauler trailer arrived at Jim's in, but the fact that they did not make any effort to secure any of my property on the roof, leaves me concerned for my new glass solar panels and the rubber roof I had been carefully trying to adhere them to without tearing. I will update once I get it out of impound but guy at the desk already said I owed them $475 for the impound, after they'd had it for only an HOUR. Typical corrupt sheriff's pet type extortion racket. Ventura County can eat it; unless you're shooting porn, don't go there. Just don't. read more

They never showed up. Called around 10 pm because I was blocked in my apartment's parking space. The man that answered the phone said they were really busy and it would be a two hour wait. I said that was fine but he quickly ended the phone call without asking for an address or description of the car that needed to be towed. I have never in my life delt with such an unprofessional company. My 18 year old daughter parked in the fire lane like a dummy, this driver tows the vehicle ( after making a deal with the landscaper t call on people who are parked wrong), they towed her car. The only way we found out who towed the car was from a police officer that was dealing with another "tow truck incident" the officer gave my daughter the towing company that had got them called out. I called Jims Towing, and the man was so rude, charging me $310.00 plus $150.00 for after hours to unlock the gate. Since we had no car, we walked to the address to pay the fee and get her car, we got 3 phone calls in between that 22 mins walk. they were upset that they had to wait for US to get there, and had the audicity to ask my 18 year old daughter where she was, so he can pick her up, and give her a ride? we got there, paid their fee, then still had no car!!!! we even got a call from someone saying they would charge $107 to get my car? when we brought that up, no one had any idea who said that! so damn shady. I told my daughter, we are NOT getting in that car and waiting for our ride. the car was at another yard about 5 mins away, he didn't even have our car at the location! by this time My husband met us and drove us to the location, and finally got the car. He asked whoever drove us there, what color the tow truck was, and the man (who acted as if he didn't know anything, but showed up to both locations?) said he didnt want to tell us that, his son was in the car that drove him there and his son got off as if he was going to hurt my husband for asking a questions, i recorded the event. These are dirty, sheisty, evil people. The man told me not to "disrepect his son" becuase i was recording. I get they have a job to do, and my daughter WAS wrong for parking in the red, but the way they handled their business was hands down, the most awful experience I have ever had. That 50-60 year old tow truck driver wanted to drive my 18 year old daugter to a dark tow truck yard in the middle of nowhwere! and his boss/bosses son was going to meet him there? hell no! Towed my vehicle less than 7 miles , on a Saturday / Sunday around midnight - technically Sunday - called Monday to pick it up - $700.00 to get my vehicle back ? You must be joking . My car was parked in a safe place off the road , zero traffic about 7 miles from the tow yard - its $75 a day storage - so wheres the other $550 in charges add up to ? We Should have tried Jim's Fillmore Towing. I think we may have ended up with a WORSE deal because of Pablo's comment that $60 was a "rip-off". A dispatch service required $95 + the towing LAGOMARSINO TRANSPORTATION out of Oxnard required we pay a minimum of two hours = $300 total for the towing from for just pulling our fork lift out of a ditch in FILLMORE. read more
