My coworker and I went here for lunch today. Their thin crust pizzas were at least half an inch thick and the whole pepperoni pizza comes with about one pepperoni per slice. I am really disappointed with the cost cutting strategy that is being practiced by the restaurant. I would like to revise my rating if this is only a one time incident. read more

Jim's is not a 4 star pizza joint. It's 3 stars at best if you are judging solely on the pizza. But if you are looking for a time machine that will take you back to the 1980s to the hole in the wall pizza place that the kids soccer team went to after the game this is the place (and hence the extra star). The food is all very basic but respectable ( which I can't say about the Cicis buffet) and it's pretty cheap too. Friendly staff and Jim was there too saying hi to the regulars. You won't leave Jims feeling like you had amazingly great pizza but you will leave full and satisfied and that's good enough for me. read more

Best Pizza, is it gourmet, no, but great pizza. Why, thin crust, they will make you what you want also, just ask, very little grease, and fresh. They always have spaghetti, and then on some nights they do wings and other nights lasagna. Salad bar is good, not extensive, but really good. And you can't beat the price. Before i get further I to the review let me say I have been going to Jim's since I was a kid (only a few years old). I'm 31 now and for the most part the same faces have been behind the counter from then til now. Very friendly and I feel like I'm visiting my family when I go. The restaurant used to be closer to the Mckinney square on Tennessee St. There used to be a jukebox and some arcade games. Several years ago they relocated to the former Pizza Hut building on University Dr. I personally prefer pizza that has a thinner crust and that's why I love Jim's. The crust isn't so thick and fluffy that I feel like I'm eating breadsticks. Instead, what you get is a pizza that has tons of flavor and is crisp. They make a wide variety of pizza and keep the buffet going at a good pace. They have a bacon, cheddar ranch pizza, supreme, hawaiian, pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, pepperoni, canadian bacon and just about any other kind of pizza you can think of. There are several types of desert pizza as well. For sides you can get spaghetti (I love their sauce... Even if it is from a can), lasagna, garlic bread and a salad. They have ice cream for afterwords and the kids can grab a sucker from the counter on the way out. I have found that the best restaurants aren't fancy. Hole in the wall places are the best because of the friendly atmosphere and unique food! If you have never been to Jim's I highly recommend it but do not expect a gourmet restaurant here. Jim's Pizza is a pretty decent little pizza buffet. We called ahead to confirm they had a nightly buffet and the person who answered the phone was friendly, warm and polite. After arriving at the restaurant (you seat yourself), the server was equally as nice and even explained to us the different sides that are offered on different days. The crust of the pizza is thin, just the way I like it, and the toppings were all over the place - but in a good day! I had one pizza that had bacon, cheese and I think jalapenos....delicious! There were so many different types of pizza to choose from, it was a feast for the eyes. We are definitely new fans and will be back! read more

I absolutely love Jim's! Their customer service is always excellent whether it's delivery or dine in, and so is their food. Their pizza always has LOTS of toppings! I have lived in McKinney for eight years and I actually had never tried Jim's Pizza. I have to say that I was so incredibly impressed. First of all I ordered a large pizza with two toppings for $13. You cannot beat that! I opened the box to find this amazingly gorgeous pizza that looks like it's made for an advertisement. All of the toppings went all of the way to the edges, no skimping, completely covered with toppings and I couldn't even see the cheese! The crust was incredible, I chose the thin one that was kind of crunchy on the edges. The sauce is perfect! It is a nice zesty Italian, not sweet. Then to top it off I walk in and the people who work there were so friendly and so nice and I just had the greatest first time experience! I will be back! Thank you so much for having an amazing and authentic Italian pizza! Also, I ate the pizza reheated in the microwave for four days and it was great every day! read more

It was ok. My son and husband devoured their pizzas which are perfect for one person (maybe two if you're a light eater). Crust has a Boboli-type consistency. The wings were tasty, and they gave us a choice of dips. Unfortunately there was something hard and plastic like in mine (old cheese maybe?) and we are all now dying of thirst because it was sooooo salty. Staff was super nice! My parents were in town from Chicago. Being from Chicago, we know good pizza. I found Jim's after checking out reviews on Yelp. We ordered a large sausage, green pepper, and mushroom pizza. When I opened the box, all I saw was sausage! Hardly any sauce or cheese. The crust was thin, but good. The only positive I could find was the fact that their delivery was quick and effortless.
