Having lived in NY and having some of the best pizza in my opinion, I was a little skeptical trying Hideaway but tempted to try because it is always busy. So we ordered 2 thin crust (5 cheese and build your own with pepperoni) for pick up at a predetermined time slot. I showed up with 5mins to spare only to have to sit and wait an additional 15mins because I guess something went wrong in the kitchen. The lady did offer a free drink but I was more interested in getting my food. Anyhow, got my pies and as for flavor.... Quite impressed. Crust was thin enough although the dough was not like the Napolitana with bubbles and burnt crust. As for toppings those were very good and tasty (even when reheated!) Been here many times, my husband swears by it. The pizza is okay to me. Today I got the 50/50 appetizer. That can feed 4. A pile of really crispy mozzarella sticks and fried mushrooms. Just a lot of fried. I do like their marinara sauce. The ranch is good but I am not generally a ranch fan. Service is hit or miss. Came here on a Friday night with friends who are regulars. Must've come on some sort of banquet night because they were so packed with high schoolers in large parties. We had to wait about 35 min for a table. We were able to sit up top outside of the covered part where it was quieter and cooler. Our waitress was great, she was in great spirits. We ordered online for curbside pickup- Chicken Florentine - medium thin crust . The suggested wait time was 40 mins... so we went to their curbside pickup which is located on the back of the restaurant & waited patiently in our car ,one of the staff immediately came out & double checked our order & informed us he will deliver as soon as it's ready ... we liked the service... he was very attentive towards all the customers who came in for curbside pickup. The wait was not bad we hardly waited for 10 minutes & our order was ready. We were very excited to try the pizza since the aroma was so nice we were very hungry by the time we reached home... nothing beats the fresh baked pizza aroma... What a great addition to McKinney!! Tried this place after great recommendations from friends, and they were right! We came on a weekday for dinner time, and the place was bustling with families and groups. The service was lovely! I forgot her name, but it started with a C. Arrived in the middle of Friday night Happy Hour. Place was packed, wait for a table was 30+ minutes. We waited in the upstairs bar doorway while sipping 1/2 price cocktails. I am a manager at Raytheon and every time I get to take my team out for a lunch or dinner, Hideaway is our spot. The service is always amazing, and no other spot can match the happy hour deal. M-Thur ( I'm not sure about Friday ) from 4-7, ALL drinks are 50% off. The pizza is very good, although I tend to always order the Lasagna. The place can get a little noisy, but that expected in my opinion. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. It's usually packed, but this time, it was a comfortable amount of busy. There is also seating upstairs! Dishes weren't the cleanest and had some residue. Dr. Pepper didn't taste normal and was pretty diluted. But plates had the Hideaway logo on it and was adorable! Workers were very friendly. We were missing an appetizer but they removed it from our payment and ended up making it for us anyway. Our server continuously checked up on us throughout the night as well. Pizzas took a fair time to come out but not too long. They were delicious! Their menu includes a variety of choices and we enjoyed the two we ordered. You could also make your own pizza. I especially enjoyed the Paradise Pie, which resembles alfredo pasta as a pizza. It was unique but deliciously flavored. I've lost track of how many times we've eaten here. But who cares because it's so good! You can't go wrong with any of pizzas, appetizers, or the lasagna. Yes, it's always busy. But if you go right at 5 pm for dinner, there isn't too much of a wait. Plus, you can always reserve a spot online, which we love doing and are surprised more people don't. It's casual but there's always sports or something on one of their millions of TVs. Sitting in the booths is intimate and cozy, but they also have regular table seating, as well as patio. There's even a second floor but we've only sat on the first. They have both high chairs and booster seats but they did run out once because they can get that busy. The fried mushrooms and garlic cheesy bread are amazing. They both are made even better dipped in either ranch or marinara. For the garlic cheesy bread, drizzle a nice amount of ranch on top and enjoy. The wings are good but I'm not a wing connoisseur like my husband so as long as they're cooked through and properly coated, I have no complaints. I only eat the pepperonipalooza. I would die happy if that was the only thing I kept eating here. The homemade lasagna is very good. I haven't tried any of their other pastas, but I plan to. So the moral of the story is come hungry, but be prepared to wait a while for pizza when they're busy. Order appetizers to tide you over during your wait because the pizza is well worth the wait. The service is always good, whether it's the hosts, servers, and even the servers running out food. This isn't our first experience with Hideaway Pizza we frequent the Stillwater location since my son goes to OSU. While we've always enjoyed the Stillwater spot, this McKinney location is truly spectacular! The rooftop bar is a standout feature and such a great addition to McKinney. It's a perfect spot to relax and adds a fun vibe we really needed in the area. This visit, we sat at the bar, and our bartender was incredibly attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The meal was excellent as always--Hideaway consistently delivers on quality. The only downside (and it's a small one) is that they don't have fresh jalapeños, which we always enjoy on our pizza. Overall, this is a fun, family friendly spot that's definitely worth visiting. Hideaway is our go to spot for half off appetizers and drinks from 3-7:00 pm during the week. We typically belly up to the bar, the staff is always friendly and attentive. My favorites to order are the Garlic cheesy bread served with the Hideaway Red sauce, the Baked cheesy Shrooms (are to die for!) Filled with a spicy cream cheese and vegetable stuffing, topped with mozzarella and baked until golden brown. And depending on the day I will choose one of the specialty pizzas to share. This place is great! They serve bar style pizza and great appetizers. The souvenir cups are fun. Isaiah said to ask for him when you come in! Great server. The turn around was quick even for a Sunday. They had nice cool patios to beat the heat and the noise level is very tolerable considering how packed this place was. We tried the stuffed mushrooms and meatballs. Very clean too and they have a bunch of fun artwork. The pizza was so good too. Really crispy but also soft. I'm not sure how they pull that off. Walked in and the atmosphere was nostalgic in that it was a bar vibe but with seating to the outside. Since it was a bit chilly and windy today, the outside seating was closed in and the heaters were on. We then sat down, with two toddlers and the server came out with two plates of dough to entertain the children. I've tried Hideaway pizza in McKinney 10 times. I wanted to make sure I gave their pizza a fair review since pizza is my favorite food. Service is excellent every visit. Wings are awesome and in my top 2 as far as wings go. Fried mushrooms are my favorite. Better than any other place that serves fried mushrooms. Pizza...... Here is where I've taken my time to review. The pizza would be best in McKinney with the exception of the pizza sauce. Our entire family believes that the pizza sauce is too robust or heavy. Way too heavy.
