Victor came out and diagnosed a problem for me free of charge. He showed me some pictures of various panel upgrades he did. Having done a panel upgrade at my last home I can tell you his work looked very professional, clean, and everything was labeled. Of course this is very basic and required of any licensed electrician but you'd be surprised how much cleaner and nicer his panel upgrade looked. I found JIMZ Electric on Yelp. I had a small odd job (cutting unused cable wires hanging loose around my home and staple some neatly, remove an old satellite dish and old cable box off wall...all looked very messy. I preferred to hire an electrician to ensure working live wires weren't cut. I was glad Victor was willing to take on the small job. Victor and his team came out and did a complete re-wiring of our house that had ungrounded electrical wiring. They grounded the entire electrical system and also installed some outlets and switches at new locations. His team did an excellent job of patching up and repainting the walls where the existing outlets were re-done. Additionally, Victor was very knowledgeable and made smart recommendations where he saw any safety and/or convenience issues. I was very impressed during the re-wiring of the kitchen area: he saw that a lot of the high power draw appliances were connected on the same circuit, and he called to let me know that he was going to run separate circuits to avoid overloading. He also ran new wiring and helped me install a smart doorbell, and cleaned up the wiring in the attic. This review is way overdue. Work was completed on Dec. 27, 2019. I needed outlet for portable spa that had to be GCFI certified outlet. My biggest issue was that the spa was on the other side of my chimney from the electrical box. I got a few quotes from other Yelp electricians. Jimz Electric was not the cheapest but when Victor arrived, he pointed out to me that he didn't have to go behind or in front of the chimney for this outlet. He could do that cause the cord for the Intex spa was long enough to reach to the other side of the chimney (see photo). I also liked that he was going to use an existing box (pool light switch) coming out of my electrical box to feed the wiring for the outlet (see photo). The reason why I appreciated that was that the other electricians were going to put another hole in the house to install another box to run the wiring!?!?!? As we talked about the outlet, he said he would run the tubing up the wall and if I wanted, he can install a motion light at the corner. Another Awesome idea that I was not thinking about. Since it he was doing the wiring I though he might as well install the light. The job took about 6 hours but I didn't mind because he was doing the job cleanly and correctly. As he was bending the tubing, he also did a small kick at the outlet. This does not sound like a big deal but my uncle who is an electrician complimented on the kick and the clean work that was done (see photo). Remember Jimz was not cheapest and not the most expensive but his work was clean and done right. If you are going to do some electrical work at your home, you owe it to yourself to get a quote from Jimz Electric. I would call him back if I have other electrical issues. read more
