I visited before a Rays game and was immediately impressed by both the service and the food. The staff was attentive without hovering, the pacing was excellent, and the entire experience felt polished and intentional. I ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi steak, tofu, fried egg, kimchi, vegetables, gochujang, and crispy rice, along with two spring rolls. What stood out most was the balance. The dish delivered heat, sweetness, savory depth, texture, and freshness without relying on heavy sauces or excessive portions. Every ingredient maintained its own identity while contributing to the overall flavor of the dish. Too many restaurants create flavor by drowning food in sauce. Hawkers does it through seasoning, spices, and technique. There was no puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl, no overly sweet glaze, and no greasy heaviness. The rice absorbed flavor without becoming soggy, and the kimchi, vegetables, egg, tofu, and bulgogi worked together beautifully. The spring rolls were equally impressive. Light, crisp, delicate, and perfectly executed, with a thin wrapper and just the right amount of crunch. What impressed me most was that I left satisfied, not stuffed. The portions were thoughtful, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were layered rather than overwhelming. Since moving to Florida, this ranks as one of the best restaurant meals I have had. Highly recommended.

I kind of knew that I would not be disappointed... I wasn't. We made reservations and were sat immediately upon arriving. The entire restaurant was clean and organized and very well maintained. We were greeted with a smile and welcomed in and brought to our table immediately. We chose to sit outside as the weather was perfect for outdoor dining. Serve server, Lissete immediately greeted us and helped us walk through the drink menu. We both chose the 'shogun' drink, which but their version not fat. The drink was absolutely delicious and flavorful and reflected its a menu description perfectly. I don't want to say that the menu was overwhelming, but every description of every item was appealing. I will not go into detailed descriptions of our menu items as their descriptions were very well defined on the menu. Everything we ordered was both picture perfect and absolutely delicious. We ordered the following items: Pork Belly Skewers Gali Rib Skewers Duo Tartar GO Roll Hachi Roll Every item was absolutely delicious but, would I order it again? Probably not as these items were so awesome that I would have to try new items every time I go back or another visit. I will again say that our server Lissete, it's probably one of the best servers I have ever had before. She was personal, professional, assisted us with the menu, get back with us after every plate and overall treated us as if we were honored guests in her home. With her Service and the food and the ambience of the restaurant, Kuro Sushi a very easily earned my five stars! Great job by everyone!

I've been here a couple of times now, and there's a reason I keep coming back…read more I first tried Shiso Crispy at a Yelp event a couple of years ago, and that was honestly the first time I'd ever heard of them. I couldn't stop thinking about the food afterward, so I immediately made a trip to the restaurant to try more. This time, we went to the location across from Ferg's because it was a little chilly and we wanted to sit inside and eat everything right away. We even drove from Tampa, even though there's a food truck closer, because we really wanted the full sit-down dining experience. We ordered the ahi tuna dirty rice, the bang bang shrimp (a special I saw online), and the pork belly buns. This was my first time trying the shrimp and the buns, and let me tell you... the buns did NOT disappoint. They were so fluffy, cooked perfectly, and absolutely delicious. And the bang bang shrimp? I loved it almost more than the ahi tuna. It had the most perfect crisp and crunch. You order outside and everything is made fresh. It didn't take too long at all, and the food came out warm and insanely good. I'm a huge dumpling girl, so I already know I need to go back ASAP to try the truffle gyoza and the wagyu gyoza. The lobster crab rangoons also sounded incredible. If you haven't been yet, this place is 100% worth the hype, and the repeat visits.

The only somewhat decent dish was the ahi tuna dirty rice, but the protein-to-rice ratio was questionable, especially when a dirty rice plate already costs $9. The braised beef short rib bao buns ($12 for two) were overly sweet and had a mushy texture. The truffle gyoza (5 pieces) somehow arrived burnt on one side across every piece and were only mildly warm when served. Service was average overall. The indoor seating is nice, and being located in the heart of St. Pete gives the restaurant a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the setting or the prices. I would not come back.
