Great food. Huge portions. Great service. I like that the owner comes out to the floor and interacts with guests

Small, family owned. A little pricey but good food and pleasant and attentive service.

Yes, the Putin invasion has made it much worse. Despite the obscenely higher prices of everything, this convenience store is my favorite in Sierra Vista. For one reason, the variety of soft drinks, all sizes of which WERE less than a dollar, though, like everything else these days, they're higher now. For another, gasoline here is usually the lowest-priced in town. First reason, though, is the courtesy of the personnel. Friendliness and courtesy is the norm in Sierra Vista, even at convenience stores, but the nice folks here usually are number one in those aspects. For anyone in this part of town, East Fry Boulevard, I strongly recommend this Speedway. And I suggest you get a loyalty card to save even more. Speedway corporation has spread widely across these United States. I've shopped in Speedways in Indiana and Tennessee previously, but this one is my favorite. When you go in, please tell the nice folks you read this review on Yelp.

As a chef, I tend to experience restaurants a little differently. I'm paying attention to…read moreseasoning, temperature, texture, balance, consistency, and all the small things that tell you whether somebody in that kitchen actually understands what they're doing. Ikkyu absolutely does. The first thing that stood out to me was the ramen. A good bowl of ramen isn't about throwing a bunch of toppings over noodles and calling it a day--the broth has to carry the entire bowl. This one had the kind of depth that tells you time and technique went into it. Rich and savory without becoming heavy, properly seasoned without tasting like somebody simply reached for more salt, and enough body to coat your palate and keep you going back for another spoonful. That balance is harder to achieve than people realize. The noodles, broth, toppings, and seasoning all worked together instead of fighting for attention. Nothing felt like it was there just for presentation. It tasted deliberate. There's a difference between food that follows a recipe and food that comes from years of repetition, adjustment, and understanding, and Ikkyu tastes like the latter. What I probably appreciate most is that the restaurant doesn't try to disguise itself as something it isn't. It's casual, comfortable, straightforward Japanese food. No unnecessary theatrics. No giant price tag attached to the atmosphere. The focus is where it should be: the food. Service was quick and friendly, the restaurant had that relaxed neighborhood feel, and there's something refreshing about finding a place that seems more interested in feeding people well than trying to impress them with everything surrounding the plate. From one kitchen person to another, I have a lot of respect for restaurants like this. Making something look complicated is easy. Taking something that appears simple and executing it consistently with depth, balance, and flavor is much harder. Ikkyu feels like one of those Tucson places you could easily drive past without realizing how much experience is sitting behind that counter. This is the kind of local restaurant I want to support. Five stars from me, and I'll absolutely be back.

Anyone that has eaten pork knows the smell of old or rancid meat. It smelled HORRIBLE!!! I let the staff know and threw away the entire ramen in front of them. NEVER AGAIN!
