My gripe: I booked a 1pm appointment. It is now 1:59 and no doctor. Last visit doctor shows up 50 minutes after appointment time and I am late back to work. I came here for acupuncture services while being pregnant. I called to make an appointment for a week later and they asked for my insurance member ID, which I gladly provided. My appointment time was late in the evening around 5:30PM. I arrived and was surprised when they said that it was too late to verify my insurance coverage. I thought the reason I provided my member ID ahead of time was so they could check my coverage. They forced me to pay the full $240, I asked what happens after they verify my coverage and they responded saying that the balance could be applied to future visits. I stopped in my tracks. So they're forcing me to use $240 on their services? This is not acceptable. I asked them if they would reimburse me one. The employee had to check with the doctor. At this point I was already suspicious of this office. The employee came back and said that they could issue me a check after verifying my insurance the next day. So I proceeded with my appointment. The female doctor asked me a number of questions, essentially what I had expected for a consultation. At the end of the consultation she said I could schedule an appointment for acupuncture with the receptionist in the front. Um what? Excuse me but that is the entire purpose of my visit. I asked her so you can't do any acupuncture today? And she asked me back oh you want to do acupuncture? Let me check if we have time. Wow I was not happy at this point. Luckily or unluckily they were able to squeeze me in. The male doctor came in and gave me a glass jar to hold with 3 vials in it and poked me with the acupuncture needles. I fell asleep shortly after he left the room and I woke up what felt like an hour later. It was completely dark outside the window and quiet outside the doors. I thought to myself, omg they forgot about me and everyone left. I panicked and wasn't sure what to do with all these needles in my back. I started coughing loudly and rustling the paper I was laying on around. 15 mins later the female doctor came in to remove the needles. I looked at the time and as I suspected, it had been over an hour later. I think they did forget about me. By now I had already decided I would not be returning to this office. The next day I called to see if they had verified my insurance yet. They said they hadn't. So the following week I called back again. They stated that everything checked out and would mail me a check. I checked my mail frequently and a month later, still no check. I called them back and at first they said that they had given it to my mom. Really? My mom? That's funny cuz I didn't know my mom isn't a patient there. When I told them that that was impossible, they changed their story and said that they had mailed it but it looked like it hadn't been cashed yet. So they canceled that check and issued another one. A month after that I still hadn't received a check. I called again and spoke with Ruth who told me they issued a check and it was mailed to so and so address. Wait. That's not my current address, that's my old address. She said that that was the address on my drivers license. No it's not the house number is wrong. I asked why they would send a check to my old address when it's not anywhere in my file. She responded and said that her assistant did, not her. Well Ruth, as her supervisor, you should've been overseeing her work. And if the check was returned, why didn't anyone contact me? Ruth then said that if I was in the area I could come by and pick up the check. Gee really? I have your permission to pick up money that is rightfully mine? Thanks. So I ended up going out of my way and finally got my check, 2 months after my appointment. read more

I wish I had come to see Dr. Li significantly sooner. I have suffered from terrible migraines for 22 years - I've seen a variety of doctors, undergone many different treatments and drugs, and nothing has helped. Dr. Li worked with me to make small adjustments in my daily routine to not only alleviate the migraines, but her recommendations have left me migraine-free for over 6 weeks now. Additionally, I've been able to stop taking several of my prescription medications that were required to treat/deal with my migraines previously. I had tried so many holistic doctors, PT's, Chiro's over the years for chronic pain issues and was very happy to be recommended to Dr. Li, who practices both Eastern AND Western medicine. I find it to be an incredibly well rounded approach to medicine and treating patients. Dr. Li has been helping me get straight to the source of the pain and created an active strategy to reduce my symptoms. Acupuncture with Dr. Chen is incredible (he has a gift!) and my massages with Dr. Xiao are great. I bought the Chinese pillow they recommended and my neck pain reduced dramatically. I really hope this review doesn't get filtered. For those who may be weighing the negative review in their decision to see Dr. Li, I recommend you hit the filtered reviews button at the bottom of the page to see some other great comments that for some reason are being filtered out. The negative review really shocks me. I've been a patient for many years - I think it's going on 15. I'm one of those with (unfortunately) multiple medical challenges always going on. Dr. Li is fabulous at honing in on and tackling each one with multiple modalities until they are a non-issue. She's helped me overcome some serious medical issues that don't even show up on blood tests any more and haven't for years. I moved out of state for a while and during that time, she even offered to consult with me over the phone. My experience has been that she cares deeply for her patients, spends significantly more time understanding the whole person and making the best medical choices for the individual than any doctor I've ever seen. There are serious constraints being put on doctors today by the insurance system. When most doctors are dismissing you after 15 minutes, Dr. Li and Dr. Chen give generously of their time and do whatever they can to provide the best medical care possible. They are a true east meets west practice - Dr. Li is an M.D., O.M.D. and L.A.c. Who has those credentials?! When I moved out of state, I tried to find someone comparable and I never could. Honestly, it's the best combination I've ever come across. When western medicine doesn't have an answer for what ails you, eastern likely does. Dr. Li expertly knows which applies best to your treatment. I love knowing I'm going to get the best of both worlds. Like other reviewers, I've recommended Dr. Li to many friends and have always heard positive reviews and big thank you's for the introduction. I have known Dr Li for over 16 years. I have worked with her professionally and as her patient. Dr Li, is by far, the most thoughtful, knowledgeable doctor in her field I know. Came to establish Dr. Li as my PCP with respect to her education as MD and in Eastern Medicine. She billed me for eczema, second trimester unspecified pregnancy related conditions, and hypothyroidism. I did not receive treatment nor did I take the time to meet her in person to be billed for something that was merely mentioned. I haven't had active eczema in years. I have a midwife. I don't need prenatal care. I shared a feeling that my thyroid may be under active. I have never been formally diagnosed. My insurance will not cover this incorrect bill. I clearly said I would follow whatever protocol needed to be established as a patient. Not for you to pick and chose what you want to bill me for. Her demeanor is masculine and interrogative. This visit was a waste of time. And your credentials are all hype. Don't fall for the facade. I'm waiting for this matter to be corrected before I update. Very distasteful billing practices. read more

I would never recommend Dr Li. If I could, I would have given 0 star! First, she made me wait at the lobby for about an hour. Next when I went to the exam room, she did not do any kind of examination. And every 5 minutes, she left the room to come back 10 minutes later. She did it at least 3 times. It was my first visit to this office and she had no clue about my medical history. She didn't even bother to find out. She just asked me about the current medication I am taking and prescribed the exact same thing without any kind of examination herself. Plus, she didn't give me any prescription in paper, because she wanted me to go to certain pharmacy of her choice (not the one that I usually go) I told her that I prefer to go to my pharmacy of choice, but she totally ignored my request. I am sure she gets some commission from that local Pharmacy. Plus, her assistant was too lazy to call my insurance to find out the copay, so she made me pay $125, and told me she would give me credit!!!! Of course, I would never ever go back to this snobbish doctor and her lousy office staff! She might be only good for Acupuncture, but she has no real medical skill. Don't waste your time! read more

I had an initial consult with Dr. Li on 11/27/18. She told me about her credentials and seemed highly educated and experienced, so initially I trusted her. Overall, I am healthy but want acupuncture treatments for plantar fasciitis in my left foot, and generally for relaxation and maintaining good health. Under my insurance there are three categories she can charge: low, medium and high complexity Although I am not in extreme pain, Dr. Li charged my insurance $200 for an initial consult which is the most she can charge. Her staff also overcharged me for the deductible. Do not use this doctor. Although she seems highly competent, she is greedy and only seems to care about the money. read more

I would not recommend this doctor if you are in for any exams other than the acupuncture. I have never tried their acupuncture but for sure the physical exam is definitely not helpful. The service was bad too, I have an appointment at 3, they made me wait in the lobby for an hour(what is the propose for an appointment if I have to wait for so long) and then finally the lady tested my blood pressure and asked some of the medical basic questions, and ask me to wait at the lobby again, I have waited for another half an hour, finally, she ask me to go in to a room and wait for dr jing, I have waited for another 10-15 minutes, dr jing finally came in, introduce herself Nd walked out, I waited for another 15 min, finally she sat down in front of her laptop and start typing. All she did Is ask me the basic questions and that's is it for the appt. ended in 20 min. I have wasted my time for almost 2 hours just for nothing . Seriously!!! Find another DR if you can. DO NOT go to this office! My wife had a headache and she wanted to see a doctor. Because we had Kaiser before, we had to look for a new family doctor. I checked the doctors in Irvine area and made many phone calls. This doctor is the only one that you do not wait a few weeks for new patient and they have many opens... I accompanied my wife to see the doctor. She asked a few questions, then she started to ask my wife to make appts for annual check-up, which has nothing to do with our visit. She also prescribed blood-test, which requires the patient to go to lab themselves. She asked the receptionist to make a appt for the next visit for blood test results and said you do not need to come back if nothing shows up in the test results. We think this is good. However, when the results came out, we called and asked about the test results. The receptionist said I do not know and told us that we must go to see the doctor otherwise they will charge us $75 for missing appt. This is ridiculous. The doctor is so greedy, she cares more about making money than the patient. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Li and Dr. Chen for 14 years.  They have a holistic approach towards health issues and able to see the problem and how it is interrelated to other parts of the body, mind, lifestyle, and stress of the patient's life at that particular juncture.  They are like detectives able to pin point causes of the problem rather than just treating symptoms.  They prefer to take a non-invasive approach and works with your body's own immune system to enhance your health. I have been going to Dr Jing Li for Approx 1 year and I have nothing but positive things to say. She is one of a kind and very well rounded. You will not find another dr like her. She is very knowledgable about nutrition, Accupunture, western medicine, and eastern medicine. She is very detailed when it comes to lab-work. Our family has recently decided to (affectionately) call Dr. Li, "Dr. Sherlock". She's the only doctor who, on several occasions, uncovered and successfully dealt with the root cause of a number of health issues for both my daughter and myself, some of which were quite serious. Dr. Li is knowledgeable, kind and compassionate, but also tenacious and relentless in finding the reason for the health issue and treating it, not masking it. This review is way overdue but better late than never.. Dr Li is the best physician I have come across, she is genuinely caring and thorough and with her training in both western and Chinese medicine, she can offer you the best of both worlds. She will prescribe you medication if needed or you might just get acupuncture and some supplements, it all depends where you're at. 7 years ago I was suffering from a lot of symptoms such as join pains, fatigue, lowered immune system, etc.. and at that time I didn't know they were all related, and with her help we were able to peel the onion as she first put it, uncover my food allergies and my path to healing my hormones and my body started. You just need to have patience with the process, if it took you many years to get sick, it will most likely take a while to get better. At age 52 I should not do kickboxing!! LOL! After last session, I hurt my back so bad that could not get out of the bed or turn around in bed (Fine when I am standing). So I went for 1 session of back pain treatment at this office and over 90% of my pain is gone. Very clean office, lots of parking, friendly receptionist and the treatment worked so well! Today is Jan 18 2018. 1pm. The receptionist in the front desk is so rude. So mean. I don't know what's her name. But she has very bad attitude,if possible. I want grade zero star. Our appointment is 1pm. Wait until now 1:50. And when we have been waiting here at about 12:40. My friend just tried to go ask her if she can have some water. But just as soon as she said " excuse me" and the receptionist told her "the doctor is still with another patient，you will be the next one,I will let you know when it is you" she said that with a poker face with a very impatient expression. And my friend just said" ok". she even didn't listen what we will ask for. She is not professional to help patients, I think just because we asked how long we have to wait one time. Dr. Li has been the best primary doctor I've been treated by! I always gotten amazing care from her. She is so sincere and treated me with a whole person approach. I love how she takes into account eastern and western medicine too. I started seeing Dr. Chen as well for acupuncture and someone else there for physical therapy which really helped with my chronic back pain I experienced for over a decade. I really started practicing self-care since going there, and learned so much from everyone in terms of how to take care of myself better. Also, Dr. Li was very kind by continuously giving me discounted rates so I could regularly receive the acupuncture and physical therapy treatment that I needed to progress my health. I hope this is not filtered. I am stunned at the one negative review and hope that the positive reviews will be considered and outweigh the one negative one. I have been a patient of Dr. Li for more than 10 years. She has saved my life twice by identifying issues that were missed by specialist. One was a heart issue and one was cancer. Because of her detailed attention to even the most minor changes in my vital signs she detected a serious mitral valve problem that required open heart surgery, and discovered ovarian cancer while it was still in stage one. In addition to critical issues, Dr. Li emphasizes on-going attention to overall health and encourages a healthy life style. She has shown extreme patience with me in trying to deal with an on-going weight problem and has never criticized me for being unable to conquer my demons in regard to weight. Her office staff is delightful, helpful, and efficient. Her partner, Dr. Chen, is caring and supportive. In addition to Western medicine, Dr. Li's office offers acupuncture. The treatments for my back pain have kept me walking without drugs for much longer than the orthopedic doctors predicted. So pretty much like most negative reviews this is mostly about their horrible service. I recently moved to the area and I was looking for a new physician. I like Dr. Li because of the reviews mentioning she uses both eastern and western medicine. So I called her office and made an appointment and I gave them my insurance information to make sure they accept my insurance and her name is also on my Insurance's accepted practitioners. So when I went there I gave them my insurance card and after I filled all the documents and right before my visit they were like oh by the way we don't accept your insurance and I asked then why did you say you accept it when I called and they told me they accept multiplan (the type of insurance I have) but not yours???? I asked why is that and they had no answer and they just kept saying they accept multiplan but not mine. And then they told me I could pay everything in full and then go ask my insurance to be reimbursed. They had several opportunities to tell me they don't accept my insurance but they didn't until the very last minute. So disappointed! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Li and Dr. Chen's office for the past two years. After two years of endless visits to dermatologists for an inflammatory skin condition with no results, I decided to try an integrative/natural approach to my condition. Dr. Li was recommended by my internist. My treatment with Dr. Li and Dr. Chen has consisted of a combination of natural supplements and regular acupuncture with Dr. Chen whose gentle and calm manner helped me to calm down each week and relax. Since receiving treatment, my skin condition has, thankfully, healed, and I have been able to resume many of the activities that I used to enjoy. Previous to treatment with Dr. Li and Dr. Chen, my skin condition had prevented me from being outside and exposed to heat and sun. As a result, I was unable to enjoy many of the outdoor activities that were an integral part of my life. Now, I am able to enjoy activities with my family without fear that my skin will become inflamed and irritated. I can again enjoy playing tennis with my son, running a couple of days a week, using my elliptical and enjoying time outside with friends.
