I've been twice now: first with Blake and most recently with Leks, and both experiences were excellent. Even though their website emphasizes neck and shoulders, both therapists were very comfortable working on my lower body as well when I told them that I'm a runner who needs it all (and yes, they still addressed neck and shoulders thoroughly). Blake's session leaned more toward deep tissue, which was exactly what I needed at the time. It was intense, but not TOO intense. He even did some whole-body assisted stretches at the end which was a nice cherry on top. Leks took a different approach and didn't seem to want to hurt me with deep pressure, but these knots are hearty! Even though I told him he could use more pressure, his work felt more like gentler myofascial release. I did tell him that I have a race this weekend and don't want to be sore, so maybe that's why he took it a bit easier on me. Still, he targeted all of my trouble spots and I walked out feeling like a new woman. (I still need someone to dig into my right trap a bit more, but I have another voucher already purchased so I'll be back!) Both therapists clearly know what they're doing, listen well, and adapt their work to what your body actually needs in that moment. If it weren't so far from my Santa Monica home, I'd absolutely be a regular. But they're open late, so I can wait til traffic dies down on weekdays and then the drive isn't too bad. Highly recommend, especially if you're an active person who needs thoughtful, skilled bodywork rather than a cookie-cutter massage.

My daily life is extremely packed, and for a long time I was living with constant, full-body fatigue--just pushing through it. One day, someone I know recommended Sangjin and told me I should try a session with him. Honestly, I've had many massages before, so even with the recommendation, I didn't have huge expectations. But I'm not exaggerating--within the first five minutes of the session, I could already tell through his touch that he's a true professional. This wasn't the kind of "massage" where someone just rubs lotion or oil all over your body. I'm not a massage expert, so it's hard to describe his work in technical terms, but the best way I can explain it is this: it felt like receiving something that's deeply good for you--like a bitter medicine and a sweet candy at the same time. There were moments that were intense (in a good way), but it always felt purposeful and effective. He doesn't even use lotion or oil, but by the end of the session, my whole body felt so relaxed and heavy--in the best way--that I honestly didn't want to move. I felt like I completely melted. After the session, he recommended that I get 1-2 hours of sleep, so I did. And when I woke up, I understood exactly why he suggested it. I slept deeper than I had in a long time, and when I woke up, I could truly feel that my body had recovered while I was sleeping. He also told me, "You may feel a little sore in your back for a few days after the massage, but don't worry--this is a natural and positive response, and it will fade within a few days." And exactly as he said, that's exactly what happened. At this point, I think I'm honestly addicted (in the best way). Now when I feel tired, it's not medicine, not a specific food, not the hospital, not even a spa that I think about--I just want a session with Sangjin and a deep nap afterward.
