First off let me say my family is very particular about their Chinese or Asian food. The dining area is nothing fancy but very clean with friendly staff. The food is some of the best we have ever had. Everything was made fresh to order and was piping hot when it came to the table. There is not a buffet but when you serve the quality of food they do here you wont need it. The lunch specials were very reasonable at 6 or 7 dollars. None of us could hardly finish our plates due to generous servings we had. The soups were on point and the eggeolls and homemade sweet and sour sauce were awesome. I've been here twice now and both times thoroughly enjoyed it. This would be a great place to bring a date or come with the gal pals. Those who enjoy curry have lots of menu items to choose from and those who don't will too. The portions are large and the flavors are wonderful. Service was perfect. I walked in with an open mind. I am very picky about my Chinese food and have only found a few places I would say have good food. This is now one of them. Started with egg roll and soup finished with pepper beef. I ate my fill and still had some to take home. Definitely get your money's worth here. The cinched for me was the hubby who only tolerates Chinese food for me actually loved his meal and said he would be happy to come back here. Score! 2.5 Stars I'm too far away to check in but not to leave a review. ... So in our drive, the boy GOTGS wanted Whataburger, but baby Groot and her allergies didn't have much of a selection there so I YELPED Chinese and Jin's Asian Cafe came up....right across the street. I read a coupled of the reviews and they seemed decent. I called them up and ordered a Chicken fried rice and egg drop soup to go. They said 15 min. I left the boys to their burgers and drove across the street to Jin's 20 min later. I walked in and the place had a decent crowd most of them regulars I assumed. I paid $10.78. Then Jin realized that my food was not ready, they had forgot to put it in. So I waited another 20min. Baby Groot got grumpy. Jin did give me a 2 piece order of a sweet cream cheese and green onion wonton (?) And she said she was really sorry. I left, went back to whataburger to join the gang. Chicken fried rice: 2 Stars. I would give a standard 3 stars if there were vegetables more than a sprinkle of green onion and some strands egg....the rice was a nice consistency, but I felt the flavor was lacking. I think it had really good potential though, so maybe going earlier in the day when they are not busy, or the chef tired, or maybe a little veg (choy, mixed veg, carrots, peas, ?) to at least jazz up the color/look, would go a long way. Egg Drop Soup: 2.5 the baby seems to like it enough. However I question the ingredients in that the soup color was sorry bright yellow. .. this isn't the yellow color from eggs or turmeric, so I'm wondering what they use? Sweet cream cheese with green onion wontons...no clue if that was appetizer or dessert. Tasted like cheese cake. Interesting, 3 Stars. All in all, I would not rate this best Asian restaurant. I would order take out again if I was starving or had limited options...but would know to set my expectations better. Jin seems really nice though! This has become my go to stop place when heading out of houston to Austin. Very good. Love the salt and pepper shrimp. The only menu item that has disappointing was the honey shrimp. I wasn't expecting a honey dipping sauce to go the fried shrimp. The shrimp was still good though. read more

We recently moved to Sealy and I can honestly say this food is great!! We have ordered something different every time and is always hot, and very good. My husband never orders anything but Kung poa chicken but here he has stepped outside the box and ordered other stuff and loved it.. also they do have lunch specials that include soup and egg roll. . Great service and great food! We love and get the same dishes just about every time. General Tso's with fried rice, one spicy and one not spicy. If you mix them together it makes the perfect amount of spice if you're like us and can't handle the "full" heat but want a little "zing". It's made from all white chicken, which is great because I don't care for dark meat chicken. We also order at least eight vegetarian egg rolls. They're a little smaller and so delicious! We always have enough for dinner for four that night and lunches for all four of us the next day. Prices are consistent with other Chinese and Asian restaurants. On a side note: their egg drop soup looks like it's made from yard eggs because of the coloring and flavor, which are common in this area. I mention this because another reviewer questioned if it was made from real eggs because of the color. Yard eggs are definitely that bright yellow! And they taste so much better than store eggs. I wish I'd tried this place earlier, but was scared off by the dismal exterior. The interior is very clean and the hostess is an adorable child (or maybe she's just helping out over the summer). Service is quick and courteous. As for the food, so far I've only tried a few of the vegetarian and shrimp dishes on the menu of lunch specials, all of which are very inexpensive. Each lunch special comes with your choice of soup, an egg roll, and brown or white rice for around $6-$8. Despite the low price point, the shrimp is large and perfectly cooked. Everything I've had was fresh and well-prepared, if a little sweet for my taste (an issue I often have with strip mall Chinese food). My dining companion likes the Sesame Chicken. Extra points for the brown rice and vegetarian hot and sour soup options. read more

Driving thru Sealy, my husband and I decided to stop at Jin's. I personally was not looking forward to eating at a Chinese restaurant that I didn't know. We ordered the fresh spring rolls for our appetizer. They were truly the best we have had. We both ordered Pad Thai for our entrees. He got the combination with beef, chicken and shrimp. I ordered the chicken. They were very good!!! Very fresh and high quality ingredients were used-you can just tell. Also the staff was very friendly and on top of things. We moved to Eagle Lake from Sugar Land and have surely missed good Thai and Chinese food. Usually have to drive almost an hour to get a decent meal. Ran across Jin's in Sealy.....wonderful place. There is a Chinese buffet in Sealy and one in Columbus that we shall never visit again. Buffets rarely offer exceptional food. Jin's was as good as any top rated place in Houston/Sugar Land. Beyond the food, the young man and the young woman that waited on us were gracious, attentive and quick. Very surprisingly pleased with our entire dinner. Huge portions, btw. read more

The Pad Thai was awesome! I got it with beef and it was cooked perfectly. Could be a little sweeter than some may like but I loved it. It's also a pretty big portion. If you get cold easily, bring a sweater to wear inside! The service wasn't out of ordinary great but it was good and the food came quick. read more

Not impressed. When I called to place my order, the young girl would not even let me finish the item when she started repeating it. I tried to order 3 items from the menu online. Just had lunch here - place was packed! Service was pleasant and speedy. We all had lunch specials - soups were flavorful, egg rolls crispy and main dishes hot and flavorful. I had the Thai curry (spicy heat that wasn't immediate, others had amazing chicken (must have been good as none left in plate) and a beef and vegetables which looked well proportioned. Having heard good things about Jin's Asian Cafe, we decided to try then for dinner on our only night in Sealy. While their menu is a bit different from the menu we found on TripAdvisor, most of the selection is the same (the major difference being they no longer serve beer and wine). We both tried the Thai basil dishes (one with tofu, one with fish, both with added vegetables), as well as the vegetable egg rolls. The food was very good and the waitress was polite and attentive. It's hard to find good Asian food (especially Thai) out this way. We travel from East Bernard to eat here and have visited about 3-4 times. We love this place! The Lamb Cumin is so good and the Basil Fried Rice is fabulous (though I prefer a bit more basil). Portions are large and staff is attentive. Prices are not too high. Dining room decor is nice as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will come back often. I hope this place sticks around...go try it! read more
