They did a nice job decorating the place and you definitely feel as if you're in Japan somewhere. 4. Food - This is where this place shines compare to all the ramen places in Houston. They have the option of low sodium broth. I took one sip, and it felt like home cooked Ramen. I'm not talking about instant ramen that you buy from the store, but the ramen made from scratch. I often go to ramen places in Houston and I dread going because I know how salty they taste. There are 2 other locations I have in mind in Houston that are also my favorites. But I would say this is not bad compared to the bowl of ramen I had in Narita, Japan. If you're wondering what I've ordered, it was the CHICKEN RICH RAMEN and make sure to request for low sodium. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area is well kept, clean, and the busboy is on top of things. The restroom is questionable. The personal restroom doors are hard to close and lock. Other than that, it was pretty lackluster: the soft-boiled egg was hard and one of the grossest eggs I've had, and the chashu was cold. We also ordered some chicken karaage, but that never showed, and our waiter was too busy to stop by so I could tell him. I didn't read the article fully beforehand so I didn't try the recommended spicy beef or black garlic paitan, but I was surprised to see a tom yum soup and had to get it. I sampled my friend's pork paitan and found the pork to be very tender. My chicken tom yum soup was very good with a rich umami shrimp-tomato-spice flavor. There was a good portion of noodles. It's a bit far of a drive but I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area! I'd rate it in my top 5 ramen in Houston, though it is far from the rest and definitely the best in its area.

So lucky that thru a friend I get to go on their soft opening night. Am I IMPRESSED! It's a group of us foodies and we ordered almost everything on their menu, NOTHING failed me at all. They play pretty exciting music trendy enough to match the décor of the restaurant. I was in love with the interior design, its hip, upscale and trendy. The layout of the place makes it look pretty spacious. Once I went in I was excited about getting my food. Fried pot stickers have the most thin skin, big meatball inside, very soft. And when you take the first bite, there's juicy coming out, almost like Chinese Xiao longbao. its so hard to do for such a thin skin. Shrimp toast is something I first had in Houston area. The only other place I ever tried was in china. And Jinya's are amazing. Its very toasty when they bring it. The toast is soft yet crispy, the sauce on the side makes the toast even better. We had two orders. LOL. Pork belly buns are amazing. The buns are sweet and the pork belly is soft and juicy, perfect together, but not to much fat makes you feel overwhelmed. Unlike other place their Taco teriyaki balls are pretty soft, not too chewy, even though I like them bit more chewy, but the softness has its own flavor. I can eat it without the sauce on the bottom, that's who flavorful the balls are. I like my ramen have more texture so I asked for advise, cant remember which one they brought me, but I just love love love the chewy texture in it. Bravo. Soup are very flavorful, super rich, must took them a long time to brew to this level. My waiter was so handsome and super attentive, I think he refilled my friend's coke 5 times the entire time we were there. Food came in very fast one after another, we almost had no down time. Maybe that's why by the time we were done, we all feel supper blowded. But its GOOD blowded. LOL. Worth the 2 lb I put on myself. We absolutely had nothing to complain about. Tried this place for the very first time a couple of months ago after looking at all the positive reviews, and I must say, this place not only filled my tummy, but also filled my heart. One of the best ramens I've had in a very long time! I had the spicy chicken ramen and it was perfectly cooked. The broth was yum, the chicken was soft and the flavors were rich. The restaurant has a cool vibe. The service was quick and the food was fresh. There's plenty of parking space around and our waiter was kind and knowledgeable. I want to try the chef special and this is what and how they package 21$ ramen . And wish you good luck . I mean there have to be a better and smarter way to package this for takeout? Maybe put the noodle in the similar packaging as the soup? I don't know so many other option to show you care. Go to show out of all ramen place in Katy to eat it JINYA is still last on that list. Not sure what all the buzz is about this place, but we went there on a Monday night. Wasn't very crowded at all. Servers had a grungy look to them which was fine b/c they were all pretty nice. The ramen itself was nothing to write home about. Got the miso and it tasted fine, but just nothing special in my opinion. Noodles were thick and broth was okay. If I am in the area and craving ramen, I would come back, otherwise there area probably better ramen places in and around town. But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. read more

I felt the need to make an account just to leave a review about our good experience today (: I've gone to jinya multiple times due to it being a good consistent ramen spot and brought my friend to try it for their first time. Our server was able to thoroughly explain the menu with them and he was also very attentive (quick refills, checking on us multiple times) throughout our time here.
