Jinya is a go to for a tasty bowl of ramen! I usually go to a different location, but stopped in here. The service was good, as our waitress was super friendly and quick. I made a few adjustments to mine, and she was great at making sure it came out right! Everyone loved their food. I usually opt for the flying vegan and it never disappoints. You get a pretty generous bowl of ramen, and I love all the different toppings you can add. My only negative to this location is the size. It is pretty small in there. The tables are also not individual, they are long and you end up sitting next to others. So just know if you go and it's busy, you could have a wait and you will be sitting close to other people. read more

This place is great if you are TWO people. Tiny tiny seating area, if you're overweight like I am do not go here, you will take up half the dinning room. I'm loving the vibe here so far. It seems like a pretty popular place. Its a Wednesday night and they have a pretty long wait. Its a cute small edifice, and inside it feels like an authentic restaurant in Japan. It is a pretty tight space but I guess it really just depends on the individual if you care or not. The Pork Bun was okay compared to others I have had. I wouldn't get it again from here. The Fried Chicken was excellent, and the Ramen was great. I was disappointed that the ramen didn't have an egg by default. I love the Jinya Sugarhouse location but decided to try the Murray one on a Sunday. One of the rare restaurants open Sundays so it was very busy. Indoors was full and we had a long wait but asked to be seated outdoors which worked out well. The ramen is good. Also love the kid meals that include ramen, rice bowl, French fries and lollipop. We tried a couple desserts which were tasty but I probably wouldn't order again. Fewer stars because I think pricing has gone up and our bill for a family of five was crazy expensive which was a surprise. The food is solid but expect dinner prices for lunch menu. read more

Really enjoyed it! We got the Tonkotsu Spicy and Tonkotsu Black and loved it. The seasoned eggs were great, and the pork was imbeccable. Didn't quite hit 5 stars for me, I finished my water fairly quickly and never got a refill. The kitchen is open, so when they handed the ramen out to our server and we see her look at the bowl and say "that looks weird" to the chef before bringing it to us, it made us kinda nervous. It doesn't matter what time of day or what day of the week, this place is always packed! And there's a reason: their ramen was amazing! Be prepared to wait, because it will take at least 30-40 minutes to get a table. We stopped by at 2pm on a Saturday thinking we could quickly get a table, but boy were we wrong! We put our name on the waitlist and patiently waited 35 minutes for our table. Don't be distraught by the long wait, it's worth it! We got the Chef's Special: Karaage Chicken Ramen with a side of bamboo shoots and the Jinya Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with a side of bamboo shoots. Both were delicious in their own ways. The broths were incredible! As for the noodles, I recommend requesting the fat ramen if your order traditionally comes with the thin noodles. Both tasted great, but the fat noodles have a texture that is slightly chewier. The Karaage chicken was so bold and flavorful, and it tasted great with the ramen! I could see why this was the chef's special. One thing I would do differently is put the chicken on the side, because if you don't eat them fast enough, they will get a bit soggy. Craving some ramen and found this place on Yelp. It's small inside, but we were able to Grab a seat at the bar on a Friday night without a wait. It's a very busy restaurant and takeout orders were flying out the door. I wasn't really sure what to order so I went with the Tonkotsu black Ramen. My spouse had the Jinya 2020 version. Both were absolutely delicious. I did prefer the broth on the 2020 version. I don't know what the difference was but it had a richer taste. We ordered the crispy rice with spicy tuna appetizer. The crispy rice was melt in your mouth good, and this is something I would order again. This is definitely a place I will eat at again or get takeout from. I can see why they are so busy- they are very good. The parking is a little bit difficult. I would probably suggest avoiding the parking lot near the restaurant and usethe lot that was behind the restaurant. Friendly staff great service, this place is a definite yes. read more

She also made a great recommendation about which option would reheat best at home - yes, I did get another meal for later- which says a lot. Masks are required and they still have the same policy of not seating you until your entire party has arrived... even if the restaurant isn't busy, but whatevs. The menu that came up on the QR code brings up the Sugarhouse location, so you won't have the same drink options unfortunately. They are limited to only a select few options of bottled beers and don't serve pitchers. I got a Jinya bun like usual, but was kinda bummed that the pork belly was half the size as it's been in the past. This time the broth was almost pasty and the noodles, unlike the last time were not fresh and indeed, were clumped and stuck together in part. The tonkatsu was good but the blackened selection again lacked flavor. My wife had the vegetarian ramen which was too large for her to finish. So I helped her out and ate the rest of it. That ramen selection had nice firm noodles that were cooked just right. And the veggie flavor was great, with little crispy onion pieces adding to the texture. I'd have stuck with a rating of four stars if my blackened ramen hadn't been so disappointing... again. One last thing, I ordered tea but when it was served it was a bit tepid. Hot tea means hot! The service was friendly and very welcoming. Jo was exceptional. We ordered Ebi-Katsu bun, Tonokotsu Original, Jinya Tonkotsu Black, and Miso Garlic Tan Tan. I ordered a side of fresh garlic, which comes in a container loaded with whole garlic cloves AND a garlic press! Very imPRESSive indeed. I had never had ramen until I visited this place with a friend. I got chicken ramen just to be safe as a first timer, and my friend got the black. The place is pretty crowded and a little tight for space, so if you've got any sensitivity to that kind of thing, head's up. I didn't feel claustrophobic, but certainly couldn't stretch out lest the foot of my chair trip a server. I had a bite of my friend's Jinya bun. It was different but really yummy.
