The problem I have with Jinya Ramen is that their ramen broth always comes out lukewarm. After going there several times, the last time I went I explicitly told the server to mention it to the kitchen that I want the broth to be boiling hot when it gets served. But when the ramen came to us it was again, lukewarm. I told the server about it. First she kept asking where I was from originally, and then she said that the broth is that way because it is an American thing. I've lived in America for 15 years and just learnt that lukewarm ramen broth is an American thing... needless to say i have reservations in coming here again. read more

Ordered the spicy creamy vegan ramen--real nice vegetable broth with lots of garlic and onion flavors. A very nice Ramen Bar in the Murray area and you will love their food. I got seated in a matter of a few minutes with the restaurant buzzing at around 6.30 pm. The waitress was very friendly and gave quick recommendations from the menu. I had read a lot about Cha Cha Cha but it was not featured on the menu. The waitress said that they still serve it and it would be perfect if I was really hungry. Boy, I was! I started with the quinoa salad which was great. The Cha Cha Cha bowl arrived quick and I added their red chilli sauce to spice up the ramen bowl a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed the bowl and the waitress checked in to see if I needed more noodles. I've been to Jinya many, many times over the years. And this was the first time I've been disappointed. I invited my cousin to dinner last night and it was her first time there. She was so excited because I had been raving about how good the ramen was to her all week. When I got there I was seated immediately which was cool! It's usually so packed that there's a bit of a wait especially for a Friday night. The place looked busy and lively, which is always a good sign and always is. I am rating this experience a 3 because of a couple of reasons. I arrived to the restaurant first and was seated right away. My server greeted me and provided waters and I mentioned to her that I would order appetizers while I wait. But she never came back after dropping off water. I waved, thinking she saw me, but she kept walking on by. It wasn't until my cousin arriving that she came back. This was close to 10 minutes. I was disappointed because we could've gotten appetizers ordered and on their way by the time my cousin arrived but she didn't see me. When it was time to order food, I was bummed to find out that a *new* menu item never made it to this location- the corn tempura. No lie I would have loved to see and taste that. But the server said it came out over 6 months ago and never had it stock. Bummer! We ordered some apps and our entrees. And the apps were great! Nice hot & fresh! It was the entrees that were a disappointment!! I ordered the Spicy Umami Miso and my cousin did the Chicken ramen. And um- we were really sad and hella disappointed! The temperature of our ramen was not even steaming! It was luke warm! Like what the heck?! We didn't notice until we added in all of our add ons, and seasoning. A few bites in and yup, not hot and steamy as it should be but rather just warm. Because we were already a couple of bites in and all the mix ins were in, we didn't notify the server. We felt it would be too much trouble to remake and order a new, and waste food. We felt a review is better than food waste. Sorry, Jinya but this visit was a disappointment. Okay, Jinya has redeemed itself for me. Full disclosure, I Doordashed this food at work. Twice. It was so good. And I had had a bad experience before, and I gave it another go and I'm so glad I did. The tonkatsu black just cannot be beat. And I gotta say this about their delivery: it is amazing. I don't think I've ever seen so much care poured into delivering food. They have the noodles and the broth separated so they don't get soggy. There's a little QR code that gives you instructions on how to best reheat your ramen so it's maximum delicious. And it was maximum delicious. I can't recommend enough. I'm glad I gave this place another chance, and I gotta say, no place is better for delivery. read more

We went here on Thursday night and were able to get on a shared table with our party of 3. The place is tiny so they pack people together and that kind of ruins the mood a little bit. I absolutely love JINYA! I'd say it's the best ramen restaurant in Utah. They have various ramen options, and even allow you to make your own! This cute ramen restaurant is quite small, and therefore there has always been a wait whenever I've been here! However, the broth for this ramen is very rich and well seasoned, and the pork slices are very tender. Amazing Spicy Creamy VEGAN Ramen !! It was honestly better than a lot of the pork/meat based ramen broths that I have had before at other restaurant. The bowl was hearty and well balanced with the ratio of broth, noodles, and veggie toppings. Knocking 1 star off because overall, I feel like their broths are on the salty side, but the flavor profile is on point. I also really enjoy the appetizers, rice bowls, and Japanese beer selection. Service is spectacular but the food is just ok. After reading such positive reviews of this place, I was expecting a mind blowing foodie experience, but it fell a little short for me. I ordered the slurp up cilantro ramen combo which included crispy chicken and a side salad. The crispy chicken was fried chicken and it was bland. Lemon was provided, but it didn't come with any sauce. I realized there were sauces at the end of the table when I had 1 piece of chicken left. The ramen broth was also too bland. You can add extra ingredients for an additional fee, but garlic is free. The noodles itself tasted great, but I wanted flavor. The side salad was a bit disappointing. Bunch of greens and no dressing for flavor. I think it was a spoonful of garlic that was in the bowl, but I'm not sure. It's really small here and they don't take reservations. It started to die down around 8pm on a Wednesday night. Parking is also limited so plan on carpooling or getting early to get yourself on the waitlist during peak hours. read more

I called in my order, the lady who answered was so quick and made it easy even though I modded my order a bit. Even as soon as I walked in to pick it up they were already walking towards me with the bag. I got the Tonkatsu Black option and it was EXCELLENT! The broth was nice and smooth, seaweed wasn't over powering, and the egg/noodles were cooked to perfection. I'm very big on broth and I think this might be one of the best places I've been so far. Today my daughter, wife and I had lunch at the Jinya Ramen Bar in Murray, Utah. My Daughter ordered the Tonkotsu Black and I ordered the Tangy Shrimp Cilantro. Both of the broths were Too Oily! My daughter commented that she has dined at Jinya's several times and this is the first time the broth was so oily. For my wife and I who are visiting from CA, it was our first time to dine at Jinya's and for me the last. On the way home at the airport after having our lunch at Jinya's, I had a excruciating stomach ache! I felt like my stomach was going to explode. Along with feeling nauseous, the stomach cramps felt nearly intolerable. Perhaps the broth was so oily because it was the sediments at the bottom of the soup both my daughter and I were served. My wife ordered the chicken ramen. She enjoyed it. No problem. In the future, for your loyal customers, like my daughter, and for my wife and I new customers, please avoid serving oily broth with your ramen. TBH it was not the best ramen I've had and nothing comparable to CA, but for UT standards I will say it is probably as good as you'll get. We arrived on a Sat night and the place was PACKED, we waited about 30-40 minutes for our table. Their customer service is what makes them stand out. We got seated at this long table where we had to share seats with others and didn't have room to put our backpacks so they were nice enough to hide them in the front for us w/ the cashier. Although it's packed, they work fast and food doesn't take long to arrive. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, but is still pretty small. We got the pork gyoza as an appetizer and Jinya tokotsu black ramen. Pork gyoza - I wasn't expecting much for these, but they turned out really good. There is a crisp bottom to the wonton, but the inside is juicy. Jinya tonkotsu black ramen - The ramen itself gets 3 stars...If you ever go to Orange county CA, do yourself a favor and stop by Huntington Ramen. Their version of tonkotsu black ramen beats Jinya's by 100x. We both felt Jinya's ramen lacked the strong black garlic oil flavor. The broth wasn't fatty enough and the ramen not very al dente, the noodles they used were on the thin side. The soft-boiled egg was weird too, the yolk part tasted a bit bitter/old, instead of a nice creamy rich yolk. The portion size of the ramen bowl was good and filled us up. read more

Absolutely loved this place! We tried Pork Gyoza, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, and Spicy Umami Miso Ramen. Gyoza was juicy was delicuous. Their hot sauce is a perfect combination to the Gyozas. Ramen broth was thick, tasty and meat was succulent and just melted in my mouth. Noodles were perfectly cooked soft per my request. The ramen bowl is well put together for a wholesome meal. Stopped in for late lunch/early dinner on a Sunday. Place is very small and was packed. They offered the open space at the bar where they seated us immediately, which was perfect. Waitress was top notch bringing drinks quickly and took our order. Pork Gyoza (pot stickers) were fresh, hot and tasty! We ate them so fast I forgot to take a picture!! Hubs ordered Shrimp Wonton Noodles and I had the small Pork Charsa with quinoa and beans. For light eaters like myself the small size was perfect. My hubs rarely passes on desert so we shared the Panna Cotta. It was all excellent. The energy is very good in this little restaurant. Everyone so nice. My only complaint is the warm temperature and poor air flow in the restaurant. It was, although, 100 degrees outside so likely air conditioning could not keep up.
