My brother and I had dinner at new JINYA location in Reston Town Center the other night. For a cold and windy weather like this the Ramen was a perfect comfort. The inside design is modern, and the bar is spacious with lots of drink choices, we ordered lychee martini and a lemonade mocktail. The server was super helpful with questions and menu choices and was very nice guy. Our appetizer was the creamy shrimp tempura, very flavorful. And the spicy ramen definitely hit the spot. They are strictly following the safety precaution for Covid-19 - all staff wear masks; the tables are spaces 6ft apart. I would highly recommend JINYA 's NEW location if you are in the mood for a spicy, tasty bowl of ramen. read more

Saturday, we went to Jinya and the service was horrible our waiter Scott refused to speak to us. Every time he came to the table he would just look at both of us and not say a word. He did not introduce himself or anything. But we witnessed him speaking to all his other tables. He appeared to be annoyed by our presence. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. He would literally fill all the water at other tables and see our cups were empty. He would then proceed to walk past us. He was silent and awkward and he made us feel very uncomfortable. read more

We tried Jinya's NEW location at Reston Town Center and the experience was just as great. I ordered the classic spicy vegan Ramen, and my husband ordered his favorite spicy chicken ramen, and it was just as delicious and flavorful as always. The new location is beautiful with a HUGE bar and lots of drink choices we will have to try more of their menu in the future.  5/5 because Jinya has the best ramen in town and the recommended safety precaution for Covid-19 in place. read more

I'll start with the fact that I love Jinya. We usually visit their Fairfax location and have always loved it. Food wise, Reston was spot on with what we expected and was a 5/5. Service, however, was a 0/5. If this was our first experience with Jinya, this review would be lower and I probably wouldn't return. Apps were late, drinks were late, ramen was almost an hour to get. It was incredibly frustrating. The server acknowledged the ridiculousness of the service and the manager even came to apologize; however, we still paid full price for our meal. I understand the pandemic has put a strain on the restaurant industry, however, I watched countless take out orders go out in a timely fashion while we waited on our food at the table. Clearly they had some sort of flow working; it just wasn't in our favor. read more

My most recent Jinya experiences have not been quite as positive as in the past. During my most recent visit with a group of 3, we were surprised by the number (and level) of changes that had occurred. First and foremost, we noticed that prices had increased significantly. Ramens that used to start at $15 were now $17-18+, and any additional items you add to the ramen had increased as well. I noticed a strange note as well - that if you increase your spice level, you'd be charged $1. While $1 isn't a lot, it's a bit ridiculous to charge that for spice, when you can just as well simply add sriracha to your ramen yourself at no extra cost. Of our three ramens, two were disappointing. The broth in both the tonkotsu black and slurp up cilantro were lacking, compared to previous experiences. The pork in two of the ramens was a sliver - literally smaller than one slice of bacon. While the ramen itself was a let down, we really enjoyed our appetizers, but wasn't enough to salvage the meal. read more

Visiting Reston Town Center after a long time and was browsing Yelp to have dinner. Having visited JINYA before and being familiar with the menu, I decided to have some ramen here. When you enter, the hostesses are to your right. They were very nice and friendly. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. Ambiance was very cozy and casual. Started off with a Salmon Avocado as appetizer. It was really good and fresh. Had the spicy chicken spicy as my entree. The noodles were chewy and flavorful. The soup was very flavorful and not too dense. Our server was attentive and very friendly. Highly recommended and will make sure to visit during the winter. read more

It was my first time at a Ramen bar so I was inexperienced about the menu choices and also I am a light eater. I admit, I was intimidated. The waiter was helpful in trying to explain. The prices were reasonable and the wine was good. I found the food to be OK. Everyone around me seemed to be enjoying their meal. Gave this place a second try but it won't get a third. Our waitress, Angie, was great. The ramen was solid. I tried to order a beer that was on the draft menu but was told that the restaurant didn't carry it. Allegedly the menu (which was labeled "Reston") is for all the jinya locations so they don't have many of the beers listed. Doesn't make any sense. My wife ordered a Buskey cider, they didn't have it. Then she ordered a class of Prosecco and was told they were out. She ended up with a Paloma which neither of us thought was good. We had a splendid experience tonight at the Jinya bar. Chris, the Bar Manager, made us some phenomenal drinks to go with our ramen. The drinks were signature cocktails with that artisan flare that is rare these days. The customer service of all the servers was great, everyone was friendly, and the food was delicious. Update 10/22: The general manager (Rafael) was very prompt with reaching out in response to my review with the promise of "making it up" to me. I decided to dine in with a friend and let him know the reservation details. Service was great - our server was friendly and attentive and the food came out promptly. Food and drinks were good although I personally found the chicken karaage broth too salty. After connecting with Rafael, I came to Jinya expecting to be "taken good care of" and hoping to speak with Rafael again. Unfortunately he wasn't there but I was able to speak to manager on shift about my experience who was very friendly and accommodating. Added one star to my previous review to reflect the manager reaching out and the good service and accommodations of the staff during my visit. Overall a good experience but didn't live up to expectations I had after speaking with Rafael. --- Original review: 10/17 Scheduled an order through their website for pickup about an hour in advance but upon arrival, the order wasn't ready. Staff said they hadn't received it even though I had already been charged. Staff was friendly but had to wait another 30 minutes to get the food.
