Dropped by this humble looking coffee shop without any expectations. It's tucked in a supermarket shopping plaza so I meandered in more out of convenience. The meals are what set this place apart. In having both a wrap and a breakfast sandwich on separate occasions, I give the food two enthusiastic thumbs up. The coffee is standard for a coffee shop. Good beans and properly brewed. Service is friendly and the workers are attentive. Only thing that might go against it is the price. Had a little sticker shock when paying over $9 for a wrap and then $7.50 for a sandwich with coffee the next day. But hey, you get what you pay for. Overall, I highly recommend this coffee shop as it is a welcome alternative to the fast food chains in the area. read more

So, I'm a "new" local and I thought I'd be slick and try this place as opposed to driving into Cooperstown and fighting the baseball tourist traffic at Stagecoach coffee. Lesson learned. It's small and was "busy" given its size. I ordered a large white chocolate mocha to go. The price was fair ($4); however, the girl making it advised she doesn't normally make them and then as she got started I was advised they were out of white chocolate syrup. Great. (Sarcasm) They have a very small array of other options (of which, none was appealing to me). So since I already paid and she already started the machine, I agreed to go with the "normal chocolate used for mochas" as the girl advised. As I suspected, it was bitter and required the addition of sugar. I also had to explain to her how to spray whipped cream (ya know, hold it down)....she had it sideways and made a mess (of herself, the surroundings, and the drink)....while this was a tad amusing, it was unacceptable for someone acting as a barista. So, for future reference, I shall mosey further north up 28 and on to fight the tourists at Stagecoach coffee. Perhaps I'll attempt this place again in the future, perhaps not. read more

Skipped on the continental breakfast next door at the Best Western to give this place a shot and it was WELL WORTH IT. I ordered a B.E.C. with egg whites on a roll. I expected a regular flat elegy white sandwich slapped into a poppy seed roll. However, I got this fulfilling, fluffy egg whites, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a delicious fresh soft roll. It was delicious. I definitely recommend skipping on the mediocre free breakfast, if you're staying in the Best Western, and paying a little more for a real wholesome breakfast/coffee spot. read more

I should give this 1 star because based on the other reviewers had only reviewed this place and no where else. It's nothing to look at. The people who own or work here seem less than thrilled about life. The menu is short - I ordered the "homemade" chicken salad - it was served WARM with some sort of flavored dressing - not mayo. Excellent coffee! Ordered omelettes, toast, and coffees. The omelettes were very large, light and fluffy. Very different from omelettes we usually eat. I had the western and enjoyed it my husband had the veggie and didn't finish it - which is very unusual. He felt it needed more cheese, and thought it was weird - not like an omelette at all. The Jive Cafe is a terrific spot. The different coffee and tea beverages available are incredible. They make a delicious iced mocha latte. The food menu is small but ample. Breakfast and lunch are available. Jimmy, the owner, is terrific and interacts with his customers as much as possible. The room is quite small and seating is limited but he does make it his priority to be sure that customers are comfortable and enjoy what they are eating and drinking. Food was decent. It's very pricey. Four orders of pancakes, meat and cheese omelet, and five drinks it was 50$. Back home I would normally spend half of that for better food. I guess if your a fan of the cafe experience and don't mind spending the extra money this place might be for you. Next time i would rather go to McDonald's right next door. read more

We stopped here solely on the reviews and we were NOT disappointed! We're visiting from out of state and were looking for a quick and easy place to have breakfast but this exceeded all expectations. Friendly waitstaff, excellent service, and the food was delicious. The Jive egg sandwich on the local made roll was to die for, and the meat and cheese omelet was absolutely perfect. My husband and I ate here. It's a small place in a small strip mall. Looks like no big deal from the outside. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. I had the Cobb salad (no bacon since I'm a vegetarian) with balsamic dressing instead of honey mustard. It was excellent. Really delicious and a very large mound of salad. My husband got the grilled cheese, comes with tomato inside. He said it was really good, emphasizing 'really.' We've checked out their breakfast menu, served all day, and will be here tomorrow instead of eating the free breakfast at our hotel. We highly recommend this restaurant! read more
