The food was just as it has always been. Wonderful! It did worry us that we were the only diners there. 2 tables left as we came in. Very strange as the usual Owners were not there, no bottles in the large wine rack, the menu although the same dishes as years prior looked like it was typed on an old manual typewriter by someone who did not know how to indent when should have. It was very odd and when I asked the Server if it was owned by someone else he was not very forthcoming and just said he was the owner and nothing is changed. The wine you could order was red, white, rose, and beer. No description of the wines. Thank goodness the food was delicious but we knew something was off especially after reading recent reviews and speaking with a bartender in another establishment indicating they are often closed without warning??? Guess we will have to find another Italian place as I think they may be closed for good when we return (but we hope not).

I had heard good things about this restaurant and a friend purchased an expensive gift card for me. Went there today and found a large notice on their door and window that the restaurant had been seized by the State of New York for non payment of taxes. Now I have a useless, expensive, gift card. Needless to say I am not happy!

I really wanted to love this restaurant, but it fell short. Mind you my husband and I were up in Cooperstown for the weekend. While the restaurant was cute, and the wait staff was very nice, the food was lacking excitement. We ordered a baked artichoke appetizer that was canned artichoke heart in breading. While they were not terrible they were not great either as the artichoke hearts tasted like the brined in the can and lacked seasoning. We also ordered a antipasto to start which was essentially a salas topped with lots of things, including canned tuna which I felt was very out of place. We also kept asking the waiter for bread and when we finally did get it they said it was garlic bread but one bite in it was clear it was just bread with some garlic seasoning on the outside of it. The bread itself was unflavored and average. My husband got the veal Parmesan which looked and tasted pretty good, but his take away was that the entire dish was swimming in butter. I mean I love butter but I don't want a butter soup. I had a seafood pasta which was actually pretty good. The seafood was cooked great and the pasta was delicious. However towards the end of the dish I noticed my palate was out of sync because the dish was very salty. Keep in mind I was rather buzzed from pre dinner drinks and that usually makes me a salt fiend. All and all it was okay. I wouldn't go here again and I am surprised at the rave reviews we found everywhere. There are so many other places in town that I think would be better to go on a Saturday night.

One of the most enjoyable and flavorful meals my family and I have had in a very long time! We were in Cooperstown for the weekend. Were told by the innkeeper how amazing Nicoletta's is. She was right. We went there on a Saturday night. We were greeted and served by Isaiah. Isaiah was a sensational waiter! Great recommendations and amazing service! Our meals were sensational! I had the filet over fettuccini in a blue cheese white sauce. Amazing! Not overbearing with the blue cheese. My wife had spaghetti with the absolutely most amazing, flavorful bolognese sauce. Isaiah said it was just made that day and we could tell. Sooo fresh and tasty! My son had tortellini with sausage. It was wonderful as well! We cannot recommend this place enough!

My friend and I decided to do the Starfield Hiking Trail, and headed to Cooperstown afterward for dinner. We quickly searched using Yelp, and found Nicoletta's. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and the restaurant was clean with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. It should be noted that the prices were also excellent. We started with a Bruschetta which was fantastic. It has eggplant tapenade, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, and was topped with a toasted mozzarella cheese slice. It was absolutely fantastic! We were both blown away immediately. For our entrees, my friend had the chicken marsala, which he loved, and I had the lasagna. The lasagna was perfectly cooked, it had excellent sausage (which I rarely say) that was very well made, perfectly seasoned, and had no grizzle. Inside the lasagna was also perfectly cooked and delicious beef, and the ricotta cheese was so thick and creamy that I was in heaven. For dessert we shared a strawberry cheesecake which was also very yummy. It was creamy like a heavenly cloud, and my friend rolled his eyes when I said that out loud, but then agreed with me, LOL. We will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in Cooperstown.

Excellent service and fabulous food. After a day of golfing, this place hit the spot. Our server was super sweet and attentive. We started off our meal with the Artichoke special appetizer. It was nicely prepared. We also shared a Cesar salad. It was good. For our entree's my hubs had the special which was a braised beef ravioli with a spicy cream garlic sauce. He loved it. I had the chicken Marsala which was also prepared well. The bread that comes with the meals is also delicious. Didn't have dessert but we did enjoy some wine!

My Father's Day gift this year was a trip up to Cooperstown, NY...Home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Doubleday Field, and two of the greatest plates of Italian food I've ever tasted. Wait...WHAT?!? Yeah, I said it! Cooperstown is in the middle of East-Bumble nowhere and Wifey and I just had two of the greatest Italian meals of our lives. Again, YES, in Cooperstown, NY at Nicoletta's. We finished at The Hall for the day and thankfully called for a reservation. When we arrived we waited a bit, by choice, for the table by the front window. Once we were seated our waitress was over after a couple minutes (the place had by this time gotten really busy...why people would come here with large groups without a reservation is beyond my comprehension) and she told us about the specials for the night. After checking out the menu we decided on a cold bruschetta with garlic smeared crostini, buffalo mozzarella and shaved prosciutto as an appetizer (one of the specials) and a bottle of 2014 Stag's Leap cabernet sauvignon-a bit overpriced, but an excellent wine. Wifey ordered the Chicken Marsala over Cappellini with spinach and sundried tomatoes and basil (OMFG!). I decided to have the Frutti Di-Mare over Cappellini with shrimp, mussels, clams, and scallops and made with an amazing homemade chunky red sauce. Wifey's Chicken Marsala was simply ridiculous- I mean jaw dropping, taste bud molesting, mouth watering good. To quote Wifey "Holy Shitsticks that's good Marsala!" It was so good that there was NOTHING left on the dish. We basically cleaned her dish with the garlic bread (which was more of a small loaf, maybe 5-6 inches long and brushed with garlic butter and salt). As for my meal...if I had an old Italian grandma making me homemade sauce on a Sunday I imagine it would have been the exact sauce I had tonight. I loved that this meal included just the right amount of pasta...not a giant serving, but just enough to slow me to finish the meal and not feel like Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. While the seafood and pasta was great, it was the freshness of the sauce that made this meal. As I said, this place got packed and while our waitress was great she was a bit overwhelmed as she had a HUGE party in the back plus a bunch of tables up front where we were. After our meal we ordered coffee and she kind of forgot about us for a while before coming back to take our dessert order. Wifey ordered the cannoli and I wanted tiramisu but by the time she came back they were out (we shared the cannoli)...however, she covered our dessert and coffee because of the wait. It's time to get off our North Jersey Snob-Wagons and realize that good Italian CAN be had outside a 40 mile radius of Essex County...because this small place in Cooperstown was a grand slam!! (See what I did there???). This place may have destroyed our ability to enjoy these meals anywhere else ever again. And that's not an exaggeration, it was THAT good. What a day!

We came here on the tip of the inn we stayed at while in Cooperstown. There are a bunch of cute cafes on Main St in Cooperstown and this is one of them. They seem to really love Italian food there! It's a quiet place but not low lit. Good for families and couples alike. I had the lobster ravioli and husbo has the chicken Alfredo. Both were very good. I guess since we are from the city, we were amazed that the food was so plentiful and so reasonably priced! And it was my husbands birthday, and we had a complimentary dessert. The flourless chocolate cake which was amaze balls. It was a little dead but it was also off-season. This place was all right. I could see myself eating there again! (Only open for dinner, after 4pm)

The restaurant had an inviting interior and good jazz background music. The food portions were quite large and came out quickly. The Italian bread was fresh, warm and very tasty. There were many shrimp in the Scampi along with fresh asparagus, broccoli, spinach, capers and garlic. The chicken was cooked perfectly and tender. The sauce was delicious. The owner was very pleasant and nice to deal with. read more

I had the lobster ravioli and it was incredible. The food did take a while to come out, although it was well worth the wait. Super hot and fresh! The staff was very kind and the restaurant overall had a nice charm inside. It's a great option to have authentic Italian food in Cooperstown! read more

Yes best restaurant in the area- better by far for food, service than even Hawkeye. Ambience okay, but not Otesaga. Six of us had osso bucco, frutti di mare, eggplant, bolognese, Caesar salad with chicken- raves all around. I had the osso bucco- LARGE portion- wonderfully prepared- don't miss the sardines appetizer! Inspired. Wine list okay- a bit short on Italian wines- We were all too stuffed for dessert- A fine place. read more

Dinner was excellent. Started with a clam appetizer that was a special. Extra bread was offered to sop up all the sauce. Dinner guest enjoyed chicken parm with a side of pasta. Nicely cooked and a generous portion. I chose a side of meatballs and a very generous house salad. Meatballs and their sauce were delicious. Quiet evening...excellent service...will return! read more

We chose this restaurant based on reviews, and we weren't disappointed. In a tourist town like Cooperstown, the restaurant choice can be a bit dicey. But we were very happy with our dinner at Nicolettas. The food was excellent, the service was courteous, and the prices were extremely reasonable. My wife and I started sharing the house-made sausage and roasted pepper appetizer. The sausage was grilled and juicy, the presentation was nice, and the serving size very ample for the two of us to share. For the entree, we both selected from the day's specials. I ordered the scallop and shrimp over angel hair pasta, and my wife ordered the stuffed manicotti. My dish was perfectly prepared. There were 5 or 6 large scallops on the plate, each grilled to perfection; tender and sweet. The shrimp; well they're shrimp and were fine. The sauce was a balanced blend of olive oil, capers, sun-dried tomato and diced shallots. Everything came together wonderfully. The portion size was generous. My wife's baked manicotti was everything you would expect from that comfort dish. My wife loved it. We finished the meal by sharing a slice of excellent cheesecake along with a couple of cups of coffee. We had two glasses of very nice reds with our meal. The tab came in for a total of an extremely reasonable $98. We'll remember this restaurant on our next trip. Highly reccomended. read more

Nicolettas was recommended by the B&B we were staying at. Caught an early dinner after spending the day at the Baseball Hall of Fame. The food was delicious! We enjoyed the special salad of the day - Pear with Gorgonzola and mixed greens. Candied walnuts and house made red wine vinegar dressing finished it off nicely. We both enjoyed our entrees - shrimp scampi and chicken marsala. Very flavorful and large portions. Their wine by the glass section, though relatively small had a very nice Montepulciano that paired nicely with the chicken. We finished with an excellent Tiramisu. Our waiter, Jack, was attentive and helpful and the pace of the meal was just right. Food came when we were ready for the next course. An excellent meal. read more

It was out first time in Cooperstown. My husband and I dined at Nicholetta's for our 10th year wedding anniversary. For appetizers, we ordered a strawberry and feta salad and sautéed calamari in marina sauce (sauce amazing). For entree's, we had grilled pork loin over penne vodka and the Veal Marsala. Each dish surpassed our expectations. The ingredients are so fresh, you can taste every herb and spice. Our taste buds had a party! For dessert, we shared the cannoli and it was SOO GOOD. Came here for romantic dinner during our stay in Cooperstown. It was recommended by some locals we met at the Doubleday Cafe. It has a great atmosphere in the historic building. Food was excellent and so was the service. It was a great romantic dinner after a long day at the Hall of Fame. read more

To this day, over a month after dining here, I'm still being harassed online by people connected to this restaurant. All because they do not understand customer service and think being rude is ok. Anyone involved with this restaurant can eat shit for all I care; would be better than a night here! Why would anyone chose to eat somewhere that goes out of its way to harass customers -- obviously they are mental. I paid my bill. Stop harassing me! read more

We had a terrific dinner at Nicoletta's. We went for dinner one night on our trip to Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, and everything about the experience was phenomenal. The food, including the appetizers, entrees, and dessert, was delicious, and our server, Caitlin, was incredibly kind, attentive, efficient, and professional despite being the only server working during the dinner rush. I ordered the tortellini with sausage, with the fried calamari as an appetizer and a chocolate chip cannoli for dessert, and each item was delicious. Been to Cooperstown MANY times, but this my first time at Nicolettas. I'll definitely be back again. My wife and I had a fabulous meal. Started with delicious bread and dipping oil. Got an order of Tortellini with Sausage Peppers Spinach for take out. Big disappointment! The marinara sauce was soooo typical American bottle sauce. If that was created in their kitchen they need to throw out that recipe and acquire some authentic recipes. With so much culinary information at our fingertips there is no reason to serve that. read more

Came here for dinner when we were in Cooperstown and everything was awesome! You can't go wrong with any of their pasta dishes- I had the tortellini with pesto which was delicious. My bf ordered one of the seafood dishes and was equally impressed. I'm pretty sure we both cleaned our plates up! So much Indian food outside major metropolitan centers in the US is either terribly underflavored, in a sad attempt to level down to provincial palates, or by contrast overspiced, in the equally ridiculous assumption that you convey authenticity via sheer capsicum, that one approaches a place like this warily. And yet what you have here is delicately-calibrated sauces, food in which you can actually taste individual seasonings and savor their interactions, the way it's supposed to be! Samosas are fresh, crunchy crispy crust rather than the doughy glop for which we so frequently settle, and rice is perfectly fluffy. Lunch servings are just the right size - not the gargantuan american portions that let you know how dubious is the quality of the meat (margins can only be maintained on those stupid portion sizes by sacrificing quality). I won't say this place would get 5 stars in London or Chicago but it's well worth your time if you're in Cooperstown instead.

Lots of vegetarian options and mix of lots of curries, tandoori, and other things. Price point was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Make a reservation-it was packed in the off season.

We came the week of thanksgiving and it was dead. In fact they were the only place open on that Monday night. Services was excellent and very attentive. Food was very good and prices were great at 15-20 dollars. We are used to much higher prices in Boston. read more
