I really liked their unique options that were just minor twists on classics. There are fun snacks you can buy by the pound in the front, cakes and prepped foods near the register, chips and candies, some classic desserts like mung bean soup in the fridge area and so much more. The lady at the register was very friendly. Happy to have discovered this bakery!

Tea egg

After eating a meal close to here and taking a walk down the street, this bakery presented itself and had a pineapple bolo bao with pork floss on it on the shelf. I mean, who isn't going to pick that up to try it? In the fridge was a coconut milk drink that captured my attention. Their staff said it had very little sugar, so it made it a pick up for me. Then the person I went with suggested we get the tea eggs too. I thought the pineapple bun with pork floss tasted good. It had everything you went expect from a pineapple bun, with the addition of the pork floss. Then the coconut milk drink made me question whether that drink is actually better than boba (it just might be). Plus, I think trying the tea egg for the first time was definitely a highlight, because I tried a century egg the same day from elsewhere and the tea egg is just so much better in my personal opinion. I really enjoyed the tea egg and I'm kind of craving more of them! Anyway, the service here is nice and attentive. The ambiance is that of a nice bakery where you pick up things on the shelves that are prepackaged and then go on your merry way. Definitely worth a visit!

Chocolate Mousse Cake $5.75

We've driven by Momo Bakery so many times, but I've never stopped in. My wife and son have gone a few times. We were walking down Garvey after a big lunch, and you always end up eating more when you're with my wife! My wife ordered the Chocolate Mousse Cake ($5.75), and I tried a bite; it was very creamy and pretty good. I'd definitely get it again! The service was very good; everyone was smiley and friendly. I'd love to come back and try other cakes and breads.

Sanitation issues the worker was caught, blowing his nose, took my order and was about to make his drink without washing hands. He was clinically ill, and I had to ask him to wash his hands. I almost wanted a refund, but that in itself was just horrendous.

ordered white jasmine tea, i wanted to order with guy but he said, you do kiosk machine yourself. I put less ice and 75% sugar. sugar worked for me but he still put like 15 ice chips even though it was a California cold afternoon .

Tiramisu with fruit

Ambiance: Cozy hole in the wall bakery bustling with a lot of variety of breads (they even sell cake shavings and bread crust which is pretty cool) Service: I called in advance to reserve an 8 inch cake. The lady only spoke mandarin but was patient with me as I spoke to the best of my ability. I was asked if I wanted to add fruit (no extra charge) and was told the total price. They linked the order with my phone number. The cake was ready at the time I had said I will arrive (call was made a couple of days in advance). Food: Unlike many Asian bakeries, I was pleasantly surprised that this tiramisu leaned more to the traditional tiramisu using marscapone instead of just whipped cream and lady fingers instead of just sponge cake. There was a single ring of soaked lady finger and it was covered with a generous amount of whipped marscapone and heavy cream. I was thoroughly impressed. Overall, great 8 inch tiramisu for $40

Got a milk pudding, coconut bun, hot dog bun, vanilla cake, and strawberry ice cream. All were made fresh and delicious. Service is great. Place is nice with a boba shop inside. Parking is shared with a lot of places like ABC Cafe, etc. Great for breakfast and snacks.

Strawberry cake - 8 inch

Tried this bakery for the first time and ordered a birthday cake; we all absolutely loved it. We chose the strawberry flavor and it was moist, light, perfectly eggy, and truly delicious. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into their cakes. This Taiwanese bakery has definitely earned a spot as my go-to for future birthday celebrations.

Vanilla taro custard cream cake

My picky mother loved the taro custard cream cake. It wasn't artificially over-sweetened. Nice sweet mild levels. Soft cake. Nice sweet fruit on top. I also like their blueberry cheese tart.

MOMO BAKERY is part of a large center with multiple good eateries. The center has a large free parking lot with plenty of available spots. The set up is like a regular Asian bakery - grab a tray and use the tongs to pick your pastry from the display case, walk up to the cashier and pay for your stuff. They have some not-so-common baked goods like moon cakes in a wide variety of flavors. They also have macaron ice cream sandwiches and SESAME ICE CREAM.

I was visiting a friend of mine and he suggested that we check out this Taiwanese-style Bakery. They sell a variety of baked items, pastries, and cakes. They do carry most of the popular Taiwanese pastries as well as the not-so-common ones. I did love the Taro Buns and Pineapple and Red Beans buns. The service staff are friendly. Clean atmosphere. You can get tea, coffee and smoothies inside as well. Parking is not a problem, but it's shared with other businesses in the outdoor strip mall.

08/30/2023 Just finished getting some nice bread and buns. They have an offer if you buy 8 items you get one for free. That's a sneaky way of making you buy more than you need. I got 6 items so I'm not falling for that. The items are all freshly made soft yummy and delicious definitely try them out. My favorite is the dried pork bun with mayonnaise in the center. They have other items like loaves of different breads, cookies, slices of cake and whole cakes. There's lots of parking in the lot behind this bakery. But be warned this is Monterey Park so not the most skillful drivers here. Almost got T-Boned by this A$$hat that darted out of a parking space.

This is one of the few places where I can good cakes for special occasions. A good size cake is now $40! They also sell ice cream, bread, frozen dumplings, and other things. The coconut drink is one of my favorites. It's a small store, but there are a few seating available in the front and back.

The hours are a bit limited, but I managed to make it in time to grab some pre-made baked goods to go. I got a bag of coconut macaroons, bag of several chocolate chip cookies, 2 red velvet cookies, a baked dog cookie biscuit, and a cute Keroppi sugar cookie. Most of these ended up being gifts, but I did enjoy one of the red velvet cookies and for an already sweet flavor profile with white chocolate chips in it, I was already fearing the worse, but went perfect with a glass of milk. The edges were nicely crisped by the baking too. Delicious. Love that they had a stock of cute, pre-decorated cookies available as well (some Sanrio characters, animals, etc.) They also list all the ingredients used in each of the baked goods that they have prepackaged, which is nice. It's also a cafe where you can order drinks, as well as a place you can order cakes custom order or what they have behind the glass already. There's both seating inside and outside.

There's a small parking lot in the back, but spaces can be hard to find and I ended up having to park on the street the first time I went. (FYI - they are going to open a Goomo tea shop on the corner in the same space!) D'ange has so many fun flavors of buns. I really liked the taro with mochi one. The only thing about the buns is that the fillings tend to be only on one side of the bun, so there are been times as I'm biting into the bun, I'm not getting any filling until the last couple bites. They even sell cookies and all different flavors of toast that would make some yummy brick toast desserts! And if you need a whole cake, they have them in the case ready to go too! The buns I got were great, as were the Portuguese egg tarts. They even sold Chinese tamales at my last visit, so I picked one up too. I don't know many places that sell these, and I used to eat them all the time when my grandma made them years ago, but now that no one in my family knows how to make them, it's a special treat if I can find it. They have ones with meat (with or without peanuts), and some with just the mung bean. They must be really know for this because 2 other parties ahead of me were buying tons of the tamales!

The owner (I presume) handed us a prepackaged brown bag the moment we got there. It wasn't busy at all so the whole transaction was under 5 minutes. It's a mom & pop Asian bakery that's spacious and warm. Our surprise bag contained 7 mini breads: black sesame mochi, red sesame mochi, taro bun with filling, hot dog cheese bread, buo luo bao, ham + cheese bun, and another bread I couldn't quite identify. This is $21 value for $6.99 is what we paid. After heating them up, they tasted almost like fresh so we can't complain. However, I would say these days $3 would get you bigger buns at other similar bakeries, but their fillings were very generous, so it's hard to say. Parking has spots designated to the bakery so look out for the signs.

Its a small shop on Main in Alhambra and there's a lot in the back as well as street parking. It's a brightly lit, pick up and go type place though there are a couple tables out front. The baked goods look really cute and enticing and I ended up going for a mystery box since I wasn't after a specific cake and the mystery aspect seemed appealing. I also got 6 egg tarts, which were a great price at $1 each. The baked goods/sweets looked better than they tasted flr me. The egg tarts had a texture that was a bit off putting for myself, it was more of a steamed egg texture than a silky custardy filling. Flavorwise, they were ok though. The mystery box was fun and I got an apple cake, peach cake, and a panda cake. Now the mystery box is day old cakes so keeping that in mind, they are like cream based "cakes" and are essentially cream covered gels/jellies of some sort. The flavor and textures were good, very light cream with strong fruit flavors (the panda was also a peach flavor, I think). As a set of the mystery box price, I think the cakes are fun to try but I wouldn't, personally, pay those prices for essentially shaped cream. I'm glad I tried a new spot but ultimately don't think it was super impressive and found most of their desserts and baked items to be average, or a little less so as for the egg tarts.
