They rang me to let me know it was ready. In the cake front, it was a 3 layer white cake, with 2 layers of taro between them. As per usual, it wasn't too sweet. Just a hint of sugar overall, and very enjoyable. The taro layers were DENSE. It's like they boiled the root, peeled it, and put it in a blender with a bit of sugar. That thick, rich paste was slathered in between the layers. The flavor was intense. I was looking for something a bit lighter, but this wasn't a bad offering by any means. read more

Walk in you can see all the pastries individually wrapped and you pick them on to your tray. My favorite is the scallion pork floss. Wished they added more pork floss in the middle. This little bakery is filled with different kinds of pastry and sandwiches. They had all the types of pastries I typically get when I'm at my parent's place in Arcadia. Although the pastry was not made as well as those bakeries I typically go to, I still enjoyed them. Best part is that this bakery shop is adjoined with a boba shop. When you walk in, the shop is deep and the boba shop is towards the back. They also serve food as well! Some pastries I purchased: I was lucky to get street parking right in front of the shop. If you can't snag a spot at the curb, there is also a small parking lot at the front of the block, or around back. When you turn onto Garfield, make another right into the parking lot. Love this little bakery shop and would definitely be coming back for all my pastry needs. They also sell some really cute cakes! read more

I really liked their unique options that were just minor twists on classics. There are fun snacks you can buy by the pound in the front, cakes and prepped foods near the register, chips and candies, some classic desserts like mung bean soup in the fridge area and so much more. After eating a meal close to here and taking a walk down the street, this bakery presented itself and had a pineapple bolo bao with pork floss on it on the shelf. I mean, who isn't going to pick that up to try it? In the fridge was a coconut milk drink that captured my attention. Their staff said it had very little sugar, so it made it a pick up for me. Then the person I went with suggested we get the tea eggs too. I thought the pineapple bun with pork floss tasted good. It had everything you went expect from a pineapple bun, with the addition of the pork floss. Then the coconut milk drink made me question whether that drink is actually better than boba (it just might be). Plus, I think trying the tea egg for the first time was definitely a highlight, because I tried a century egg the same day from elsewhere and the tea egg is just so much better in my personal opinion. I really enjoyed the tea egg and I'm kind of craving more of them! Anyway, the service here is nice and attentive. The ambiance is that of a nice bakery where you pick up things on the shelves that are prepackaged and then go on your merry way. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We've driven by Momo Bakery so many times, but I've never stopped in. My wife and son have gone a few times. We were walking down Garvey after a big lunch, and you always end up eating more when you're with my wife! I was visiting a friend of mine and he suggested that we check out this Taiwanese-style Bakery. They sell a variety of baked items, pastries, and cakes. They do carry most of the popular Taiwanese pastries as well as the not-so-common ones. I did love the Taro Buns and Pineapple and Red Beans buns. The service staff are friendly. Clean atmosphere. You can get tea, coffee and smoothies inside as well. Parking is not a problem, but it's shared with other businesses in the outdoor strip mall. read more

Stop by after I had been to 8 Chinese Bakeries looking for custard tarts or birthday cakes, and since here didn't have any of those left, I just went for their cookies and the other pastries the store carries, and I love every item I got, too bad they don't give a receipt because I can't recall the names of all the goodies I had with me, definitely I will recommend it and will come back. Inside is very nice how all their products are display, some of them don't have the prices on the shelves neither on the actual product, so when one arrives at the counter you only see the girl adding on the screen, but they don't have a device that shows you how much it is charge for the item or the name of the pastry, so the total is absolutely a surprise, which I don't mind, and it isn't cheap either. Overall is good, clean, something I expected, because here I can apply the saying " you get what you paid". read more

08/30/2023 Just finished getting some nice bread and buns. They have an offer if you buy 8 items you get one for free. That's a sneaky way of making you buy more than you need. I got 6 items so I'm not falling for that. The items are all freshly made soft yummy and delicious definitely try them out. My favorite is the dried pork bun with mayonnaise in the center. They have other items like loaves of different breads, cookies, slices of cake and whole cakes. There's lots of parking in the lot behind this bakery. But be warned this is Monterey Park so not the most skillful drivers here. Almost got T-Boned by this A$$hat that darted out of a parking space. read more

Solid 3.5 Discovered this Bakery while out to lunch in Monterey Park. It's a cute spot, if you are more familiar with 85c Café its quite the same. Except, the prices are a bit high no one was in the store except myself which makes me question; how fresh the breads are. The ice cream looked definitely old; peep the pic. Was walking by and decided to stop in. The shop itself is cute. Has a good variety of items, there's a lot to choose from. Staff was kind as well. The only thing is - the bun wasn't good... :/ my husband got a coconut cream bun. He was so excited because it looked like a thick layer of cream in the middle. The bread part itself could've been softer...it was kind of dry as well. And we felt almost scammed by the look of the cream lol. As you can see in the photo the bun looks super tall and before you bite into it - the sides are covered in cream...but that's just it...there was only a super thin deceiving layer of cream on the sides and none in the middle. We were dining nearby when we happened across this bakery. We frequent bakeries all across California and if I'm ever in the area I will be sure to return. We purchased baked goods and they made sure I got the freshest batch of goods which I really appreciated. There was one worker at the fresh drinks section and he was very kind and patient with our large order. It was but 4 get one free so we were excited to take advantage of that. Food rating = 2 stars. I bought the mango mousse cake and the strawberry mousse cake. Both were icy/crunchy like they were half frozen. They didn't taste bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting nor wanting. Service = 3.5/4 stars. I generally don't speak the language that the employees speak so there is usually a language barrier when I go to Asian bakeries. Decent bakery on Garfield in MPK. Momo Bakery sells kids friendly foods such as the hotdog buns, buns with ham and cheese and other small size items that our kid eats. There is also a large collective amount of all sorts of bakery items. They have a frozen section with mainly Taiwanese items too. Decent spot. read more

My wife picked up a box of EGG TARTS for me for my birthday. Per her, these are Taiwanese style egg tarts. I am more accustomed to eating Portuguese egg tarts. These do not have much of the flame scorch marks on top. It is barely present. The crust is not light and flaky like Portuguese egg tarts. It is light in color and not overly enticing by looks or taste. It has light sweetness and the filling has that creme brulee texture and taste without the medium plus sweetness. As a result, I heated this up in the air fryer to improve the crust and taste. It did help but it looks like I am hung up on Portuguese egg tarts. RATING = B+ read more

I was here in town visiting a friend, and came to the bakery because it smelled nice and looked so good. I came in 15min before closing, and I had already checked out 5min before closing and tried to go out the front door from where I had come in. But it was locked. A girl came up and I thought she was going to help open the door for me, but she rudely told me to go out from the back. What?! You want me to go out from the back, walk ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BUILDING to get to where I need to go? (Mama Lu's a few doors down with access only from front). I asked her if she could just open it and she said no she can't because they're closed. NO GIRL ur not closed, it's 3min to close, and I see a sign that says that doors must remain unlocked if there are still customers inside. It's a safety thing too. So she really walked all the way to me, not to help, but to take her time to tell me that she won't open the door. And the rest of the girls were just sitting playing on their phones behind the register, not even cleaning or sweeping or anything. The bread was so appealing but after being treated like that, it left a bad taste in my mouth so I didn't bother eating it and gave it away to a homeless person who'd enjoy it more than I would. Horrible service! Looks like they got bad reviews on service and never bothered to fix it. Good product but bad service will not help your business grow. read more
