They also have boba teas and my favorite--bubble waffles. The last time I was here, after purchasing a few items, I asked for a cup of water. The staff member said there would be a $0.50 charge for the cup. I hesitated because I didn't expect to have to pay for it, but in the end, he gave me one for free. That was very nice of him. We decided to check out this bakery while walking the mall. They had their $1 Portuguese egg tarts special. I highly recommend getting a few. The crust was flaky but chewy and didn't crumble. The egg custard filling was creamy and lightly sweetened. I only got one and regret not getting more. Service was easy as they handed you them in a container and then you paid at the counter. I usually drink their milk teas and my aunt buys them from the Sunmerry at temple city, but I usually get baked goods from this one especially if there's a sale. They are located in the corner of the malls middle section, it's open wide so not much walls surrounding you and they display the baked goods so well that sometimes I feel like I have to get something. I had a loyalty punch card with a free drink and luckily enough we were at the mall. It was close to closing time so they already shut off the coffee machines but the staff said they can make any other drinks for me. I ordered the iced matcha latte with boba and half sweet. The staff was very friendly and was patient with me trying to decide what to order. Luckily there wasn't a line so I was able to ask questions and make a decision. I got my drink just waiting a few minutes and the boba was still warm. Mixing it up, I took a sip and I could really taste the matcha. It was actually pretty sweet despite ordering it half sweet and the boba was super chewy, soft, and sweet. What a pleasantly appeasing bakery this is. There's samples of marshmallow crackers by the left side of the entrance. They were the leftover of Valentine's Day goodies but they tasted good that we got a few of them. I wish they sell them in bulk instead of individually packaged though. There's a good selection of pastries, bread, cakes and other dessert items in here. Everything looked so yummy! I also ordered the jasmine green tea with salted cheese which I enjoyed. One thing that I didn't like is the fact that not all of the bread or pastries were wrapped. The staff had to put each one of them into bags when we pay for them. The older lady is very friendly and helpful. The younger staff should learn from her to be friendlier. At least greet your customers. Some customers dont even know where the line start. Resulting in cutting lines. I was not in a rush, i don't mind. But the people behind me got upset because I let some people cut me. I felt a little underwhelmed by this spot but in fairness I came later in the afternoon when there were slim pickings for desserts and pastries. While initially I'd rate this spot more a 3.5 I will bump them up because their cashier was super super nice and I did have one really tasty pastry from them. Located in the Santa Anita mall it's a little hard to get to. I wouldn't come to the mall for this spot alone but if you are around then check them out. Primarily there are bakery goods, cakes and such and a good menu for drinks. I probably would be able to rate this spot higher if I had tried one of their drinks but I already had a drink from another spot so I had to skip. Their drink menu looks fabulous so I'd come back to try one of their summer specials. For dessert I got a regular custard pastry and two mochi donuts - one churro flavor and one matcha. They were a good price, two for a special. However, the mochi were a bit "meh" for me. More chewy than I expected or would like. The Matcha flavor was too subtle for me but I did like the sugary churro flavor. Their classic custard bread pastry though was super good! That was a 5/5 while the mochi was like a 3/5. I wish I had tried the black sesame flavor bread my friends got. It looked good, for next time. The cashier working here was very nice. I appreciated his good attitude and helpful approach. Like at all. You can call them over ten times and they won't answer. You can't even leave a voicemail, so if you need to change the pickup date for something like I did, you're kind of screwed. I messaged Sunmerry Bakery on Instagram and a really kind representative reached out to the Arcadia Bakery on my behalf, so I got lucky and that's the only reason they aren't getting 3 stars. This Sunmerry Bakery Café location can be found at the Arcadia Mall (or now called the Shops at Santa Anita), on the second floor, two doors down from the Gap. Although I have passed this location numerous of times during my shopping trips, I have never actually purchased from them and usually visit the Sunmerry Bakery location in Temple City. But that changed when I finally made a purchase on Monday evening. What prompt me to make a purchase was their sign that had buy 2 get 1 free day old bread. Honestly day old bread does not bother me. I usually eat baked items that I purchase from a bakery a day or two (or even more) later and not always on the same day. I ended up purchasing a bolo bun, brioche bread and a matcha croissant. The total cost me $7.20 after the special discount. My mom enjoyed both the bolo bun and brioche over the last 2 days and I thought the matcha croissant was very good. It was still flakey and has that softness that you know of with croissants. There was also another deal going on in the store that if you purchase any 5 baked items (baked fresh), you can get 1 item for free. This is a nice and convenient location but because I am not able to get credit for my purchases with my loyalty account (when you earn enough points, you can get a small dollar amount off your purchase. I have purchased a lot from Sunmerry over the years and have benefited from this program), I most likely won't be shopping at this location too often. But it is nice to be able to grab a snack though and feel they have quite a good selection of their usual breads in this location. Please note that if you have a loyalty account with Sunmerry, this location at the mall does not accept it and so you are not able to collect points for your purchases like you are at the location in Temple City, Rowland Heights, etc. read more

I feel like the product here is good. They can really clean and tighten up operations though. SERVICE Service is good for the most part but they aren't too organized when it comes to drink delivery. Drinks are made and then placed on the counter for pick up. Sometimes numbers are called. Sometimes only the drink name is called. Sometimes numbers are checked, sometimes they aren't. My order number was never called and someone who ordered after me ended up taking my drinks. I saw this happen to several others. They have a special price on weekends for their egg tarts and the brown sugar boba egg tarts! I got 2 of these for $2.87!! The egg tarts were warm and has the perfect sweetness. was looking for a slice of cake while at the mall. sunmerry was the only option with something a kid would like. the bread option is really lacking. there were a couple cake slice options but they were all either missing labels or mislabeled. i requested a cake without a label but it looked to be a white cake with mango slices. the worker seemed to not even know what I was talking about, I had to point it out to him. he proceeded to grab the cake slice with his BARE HANDS. Tried this place for the first time a few days ago when we spent our day playing Pokémon Go for an event! Been wanting to try this place since we've been to this mall multiple times now but we just always have something else going on or we're already too full. It's similar to 85 Bakery where you just fill your tray with goods. They had a really nice drink selection and I was glad they had an iced latte that you can even add boba too! I went for the Hawaiian iced latte with boba and it was perfect. Drink was perfectly sweetened with the right amount of cream and coffee flavor. Their boba was a huge plus! I love boba so much and they had a really good chewiness so I approve! Cups also have the rounded bottoms which are super cute. We also got a strawberry custard cake thing which was so cold that it was like a vanilla ice cream! Super delicious. Only issue is the little wrapping paper it comes in. I have heard raving compliments about any Sunmerry Bakery for a long time but never actually got to try any branch till today on Thursday, Oct/26/23. I finally decided to give them a shot today because I didn't get to bring my home lunch. Any ways, so this Taiwanese Bakery makes great pastries that are fresh. I tried their BBQ Bolo Bun (it's directly translated from Mandarin from the second word) right in my car. I actually ate the whole bun in the car ride from 'The Shops at Santa Anita,' Arcadia, CA. to Hastings Ranch, Pasadena, CA. I was gonna save half for my first break but that didn't happen. So, I also bought some pastries to share with a former coworker who has always been super helpful to me. Service was topnotch and efficient!!!! I was in and out of my first visit there within 20min, and I got to work on time. Also, the second visit within one day, I was in and out of it within 30 minutes and had told to browse around the mall. The only minor issue I had was with their Grapefruit Green Tea: that drink didn't work for me. But I'll still visit for other types of buns.
