After hearing & reading great reviews we had hoped to have just an awesome experience and it didn't disappoint! We went on a Saturday night around 7:45pm and didn't have much of a wait, definitely recommend going a bit later if you can, as I can understand how it would get packed earlier. Our server was very attentive with great recommendations, he was an ultimate pleasure. Although we had a few hiccups we definitely can't wait to go back! We started with the jj Sticks/mozzarella sticks as we had seen photos of the epic cheese pull and sadly, it was a total miss. They were just logs of firm warm cheese with zero cheese pull, not sure if they sat for a while but missed the mark. We literally cut them with a fork/knife to eat. The garlic parm and buffalo/bbq wings, both super hot and crispy, totally delicious, we preferred the buffalo/bbq as they were fully sauced and coated vs the garlic parm wings (still tasty). Only thing missing would be wet nap wipes for everyone's saucy fingers and cheeks as I was a hot saucy mess, the homemade blue cheese was perfectly chunky! Our son enjoyed his hot dog and the arcade but raved about the Mac-n-cheese which is quite the compliment coming from this kiddo! They had a great beer selection but the online menu wasn't quite updated on the draw menu and required our server to go back & forth a bit, ultimately we were able to get a few local great beers on draft that went perfectly with the wings. We had a hard time deciding on which burger to order and went with the Biggest French Onion, it was everything you could want in a burger. Perfectly cooked, cheesy, juice dripping down your wrist with a perfect pairing of coleslaw! We absolutely love homemade fries (kind of our thing, like if we're going to get fries, we only order homemade ones) but unfortunately this batch was almost cold/room temperature, underwhelming, not hot and crispy as we were hoping to match the quality of the wings and burger, something was off. It was disappointing enough that we contemplated sending back but our server wasn't out on the floor for a while nor could we get the attention of any other staff. Hoping next time for a fresher batch as they did look fabulous on our neighbors table! I was excited to try this place after hearing the owner had other successful restaurants, and expected at least a decent burger. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. Two stars for the staff alone -- they were attentive, friendly, and hardworking, especially the young woman who previously worked at Cover Two and was clearly helping train the newer staff. The atmosphere is nice for a sports bar, and you can actually hear yourself talk, which is refreshing. That said, the dining area is extremely tight and could have been planned better. The fake doors and oversized condiment shelving take up valuable space and make it difficult for servers to move around comfortably. As for the food, the burgers looked and tasted like thin frozen patties dressed up with toppings to compensate for lack of flavor. I came for a good burger, not layers of "stuff" hiding it. The brioche bun turned soggy on the bottom, the fries were overly salted, and the calamari was mostly fried breading with very little actual calamari. First and last visit for me. As the daughter of a French culinary chef, I'm not trying to be a snob -- I'd just rather go elsewhere for a truly good well seasoned burger. read more

We have been anxiously and not so patiently awaiting for this Newtown opening ever since we ate at the original brick and mortar location. Hands down, the best, authentic wings outside of Buffalo and honestly the best blue cheese dressing ever (including B-lo, and it's homemade)! Our teen says these are the BEST burgers ever- the 2nd place winner is in FL, and our kids beg to eat here because of the food, games (table & arcade), and staff. First time here and can't wait to come back. I had the Nashville hot chicken which was so juicy with crispy outside and great spice level that made my noise run. The guy next to me got the hot dog which was huge and looked like fantastic ingredients on fresh grilled bun. Then the lady to my left got a double stack burger that was like food porn. I typically never address issues I have going out to eat, but this warrants making an account and sharing a review. I understand running a business, especially a restaurant, can be extremely stressful however that's no excuse to take it out on your staff members! I couldn't believe I was hearing the owner talk to his employees in such a way! Screaming about not pointing to a table, his tone was completely unacceptable for what could have been a teachable moment instead. The kid he was yelling at was very young and looked shaken up by the whole interaction. I typically don't complain about my experiences going out but this rubbed me the wrong way even more so being for being a newer restaurant. Aside from this disappointing encounter, the food was tolerable, a little expensive for what you get. However there are far too many wing sauces, I couldn't even be bothered to read them all. read more

I went there today and had an exceptional time! The food was fantastic and my husband loved his hot dog! Not only that they had creme soda which is his favorite! Our server was Taylor and she was a DELIGHT! The fries could have been more crispy but im super picky, but when I mentioned that to Taylor she quickly grabbed me a well done side of fries and I couldnt be more appreciative for her! We love a girly girl who gets it! We were so full we didnt get to try any icecream, we love how local everything is, so we cant wait to come back to try! read more

I agree with another reviewer the wings were good size but sauce had no flavor, bleu cheese was not a quality bleu cheese, got the double burger the meat itself was dry and flavorless and the bun was cold I was hoping for a good experience and this was far from it. The prices are not bashful and a bit of nickel and diming as you pay for a lot of the extras oh well next! There is better elsewhere much better. I will ad after reading more reviews as they come in the food here is mediocre at best no question a lot is frozen hence why it's flavorless! read more

Service was very good. Menus looked great. Happy with my non alcoholic drink choices. Not thrilled about needing to scan something to see them. Bummed the food missed the mark for me. Hot dog was larg. Pulled pork on top and slaw was underwhelming. Hand cut fries sound good til you find they are oily and limp. Price for add-ons is very high IMO. We were visiting family in the area yesterday and decided to stop in. Nice atmosphere, the staff was pleasant and attentive. We all had burger stacks of various sizes and everyone loved it. I had the French Stack, it was huge and delicious. I had garlic Parmesan truffle fries...again fantastic. Didn't try the wings but will give it shot next time we're up there. The jalepeno poppers were different than I'm used to, menu says bacon wrapped but they were half peppers with cream cheese and bacon bits on top (my one complaint) which did not meet expectations...and they were expensive. The place isn't cheap but they do provide good portions otherwise. Every place is more expensive now in response to the increases in food prices, better to go out to good places less frequently. The owner stopped by all the tables to ask how the food and service was which is a nice touch and I didn't see any other tables complaining. We loved it and will return. read more

First thing to give credit where it's due, the home made mozz sticks are HUGE and very good. The wings and philly were ok. Like others have said, not a comfortable place. The floors are cement and the seats are uncomfortable. Innovative wings though...if you consider charging for blue cheese, carrots, and celery innovative. There's a first time for everything but come on bro. Just build it into the price like every other place. Not everything has to be a profit center. Wings were also served in what looked like a steel dog bowl or more forgivingly a small mixing bowl from the kitchen. Either way wings obviously shouldn't be served in a bowl to steam and lose crispiness. That's the most basic thing to get right with wings. The list of flavors is HUGE, but they didn't have the one i wanted. For alcohol you have to scan a code to get the menu and that's not accurate either. Some people have said the food is amazing here. I will say it's basic bar food, so the homemade stuff will taste good and the frozen stuff will be mediocre. Much work to do on the customer service side...so yeah a rough start overall. Hopefully the owner is willing to make changes quick to tighten this place up. Response to Owner: I appreciate the tone of most of your reply. Criticism is hard to take, especially when it's your baby. On charging for carrots and celery when it's $1 wing night...obviously still questionable. You're saving like 30 bucks in shrubbery and all you get in return is people think you're cheap. And i don't care if you invented the original blue cheese, you can't charge for it unless they want extra. You just can't. You ask if people want them, and you make out on the people that skip it. And serving fried food in any type of bowl or cup that can't breath is straight up blasphemy. I can agree with everything else being a matter of taste, to an extent. First time stepping into JJ Stacks 4/19/26 and damn, the place looks legit nice inside. Clean, modern, Too bad the welcome committee was on vacation... or dead. I walk in, smile like a normal human, ask for a table for one, and throw in a friendly "hi, how are you?" The hostess hit me with the most powerful eye roll I've ever seen in my life. Zero words. Just pure "how dare you speak to me" energy, then silently escorted me like I was being walked to my execution. Server comes over, pours my water, and I ask for a recommendation. She mumbles "Big Stack Burger with fries." Bro... that burger was straight up elite. Juicy, flavorful, stacked like it pays rent. it's better than Five Guys. The fries? Tragic. Limp, sad, soggy little disappointments that clearly gave up on life. They tasted like they were crying in the fryer. Then came the grand finale. I ask for the check like a civilized person. Instead of handing it to me, this lady hovers over me like a vulture with the card machine, eyes wide open, laser-focused on the tip screen like she's trying to manifest a 50% tip with mind control.
