AVOID!!! Visiting SoHo area and then traveling to another state, so needed laundry service. My drop off was a MIX of male (my boyfriend's) & female clothing. ALL my (female) clothing was "LOST". 5 items less than 4 months old-brand new, $$450 in value. Business acted like they never received it. Camera footage of our drop off bag clearly shows clothing that was not returned. My best pieces were gone and no accountability taken. Avoid this so called business unless you want to buy a new wardrobe. Terrible and saddening experience. Police report made however, I am simply just at a loss!! So upsetting. read more

Was a loyal customer for 2+ years, though recent service has gone down hill quickly. Not sure if they sold the business, but the staff is all new and don't have a clue what they are doing. They destroyed over $1k of clothing by drying them when I had explicitly asked (had team write on slip) not to dry. There are too many other options in the area for the service and quality to be this bad - they will be out of business in 1-2 years if they keep this up. read more

I trusted this place with important items to be tailored and they both came out great! The owner worked with us to review the needs and came up with some ideas about what to do. Honestly, I was incredibly nervous about what it might end up like but it all worked out. The owner takes pride in his work (you can see him analyzing as he looks over a garment). I also used the dry cleaning services here and was happy with the results. I do think it helps to review tailoring needs in detail with the owner (especially if it's an important outfit). I've had nothing but good experiences with their wash and fold service and the delivery person is always friendly and upbeat.

They also do good work for me. Handle shirts, delicates, and other items. Things are done when they say they will be down.

But equally great is that the owner is a fabulous tailor and imaginative in his way he looks at a garment to decide if it can or cannot work. This place is horrible, I dropped off a pair of brand new pants with tags for a clean. I specifically asked if he could keep the tag on the garment as i spilled something while trying on at my house. I was planning on returning but was unable now that the tag was disconnected and completely missing. There were also spots that were never there in addition to the one spot I had caused. The pants also looked a year old after. This dry cleaner only offered another clean which I refused as I don't believe it would be any better. I'm not stuck with $420 pair of pants that I can't return and don't fit to begin with. Beware and stay away, if they ruin your clothes, they will do nothing to replace. Only offer 1 free cleaning as the solution, they do not reimburse cost for ruined clothes aka, clean at your own risk. They are assuming zero risk with this business model. I would give a NEGATIVE if there was an option! I tried them a few years back since they are in the neighborhood and lost something so I started using Boomerang, but decided to try JK again since they provide same day service. Sure enough they lost a item again, this time a dress that I asked to be washed and hang dried! They claimed the factory said there was no dress! Of course there was or why would i say it was missing!! Either it was theft or negligence but they will not take responsibility. I have reported them to NYC.org. I will never use them again! Went here for laundry. Same day service was great. It was ready at the stated time and laundry was nicely folded. Only complaint is the pricing. Clothes were put on the scale no matter what bag they were in and some of my bags were heavier. Thus, my advice would be to use very thin plastic bags when bringing your laundry in. read more

Love JK Dry Cleaners! The owner and his staff are friendly, very nice, hardworking professionals. I've been a customer for over 10 years and have never had an issue. Everything is done in a timely manner. I've used both dry cleaning and washing service. Both have been great! In regards to some of the negative comments below, they seem to be one off incidents. If you have an expensive garment that you have concerns about, make sure to address it with the staff so you can then decide if you want them to do it. Having family in the dry cleaning business I realize that things happen to garments. I've never met anyone who hasn't had something happen at the dry cleaner. Unless it is lost, I feel that it is really the responsibility of the customer to point out concerns. ***Also, please note that dry cleaners will always follow the dry cleaning instructions on the tag, but sometimes it is actually the garment itself that is the issue. People don't realize that there are a lot of garments that are not tested properly for care. They just go by suggested care labels because testing is actually expensive. Do not recommend ---especially for sweaters - looks like they washed it, pilling 10x worse than when i gave them and feels Stiff as a board, lost all of the finish. I am utterly upset. I just moved into Soho & gave them an $800. The Elder Statesman sweater only dry cleaned once from my old dry cleaners & was still ethereal & great, my Favorite, as well as brand new alex wang sweater never worn, i just wanted to clean it before wearing & the brand soft silky sweater came back Pilled Completely as if washed in warm water & put in a dryer. I came in with a laundry emergency and Joanne helped me on the spot - someone spilled foundation (makeup) on my white jacket, and I was on the way to an event so couldn't get it dry cleaned I needed urgent spot treatment. Joanne carefully blotted with stain remover and paper towel, something that when I tried did nothing but she had the magic touch. I'm pretty sure they washed a sweater I'd brought in for dry-cleaning. It's three sizes too small now and puckered around the collar.

I've been using this place for years and I don't know why. My clothes smell burnt when I get them back, obviously the dryer is too hot. Also, even when I send laundry detergent and softener, my clothes come back the exact same (dry and bland smelling) as when I don't send my own soap. Also, they claim to "forget" to charge for my laundry and then a month later, I get an unexpectedly large bill for all the times they "didn't charge me". Totally unacceptable. I also get plenty of other people's clothes in every bag of laundry I get back... I can only imagine how much I've lost to other people.
