The owner has a policy that he is not responsible for buttons on shirts. He then ruined the buttons on my expensive shirt, and did not provide any remedy or refund. He posts this policy in fine print in an essentially hidden area within the store. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and seen. Beware of this - use this place at your own risk. Laundry seems to be OK but holy shit, what a horrible tailor. I brought about six pairs of pants in to be hemmed. One pair of slacks and the rest fairly casual chinos and khakis. Maybe it's my fault for not specifying but when I have had my pants shortened the tailor has either asked me if I wanted to keep the original cuff or just hemmed the pants and kept the original cuff. He literally took the measurement, sewed around the pant leg, and lopped the rest off. Not all the pants are totally ruined but they look stupid and have 0 weight at the cuff. Fuck. I am out a lot of money on his expensive tailoring and 6 pairs of pants. Shit. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! It has been my go to spot for 3 years, despite a couple closer. Everything I have ever given them to clean has come back spotless and fresh. As I have periodically needed things hemmed or tailored, the man here has taken great care of me. I once needed a fairly complicated change made to a dress, one which 3 other tailors in the city either outright refused or were charging insane amounts for, but then I came here and it was done perfectly, quickly, and for a very reasonable price. Not only is the service excellent, but they are so friendly and truly make you feel part of the neighborhood. He always remembers what items I brought in the last few times- asking how job interviews are going after a month of new suits, and about weddings after a series of bridesmaid dresses. I've gotten about a half dozen things dry cleaned there, and I've had 3 pairs of pants hemmed. Since I don't really have long standing relationships with any dry cleaners its hard to tell, but at least for now I'm comfortable with these guys. I get cleaning done here. It is pricey, but they do a good job. What is exceptional about their services is the tailoring. I took two pairs of slacks here, one of them lined. They took frumpy looking pants, that I looked ridiculous in and turned them into my dream slacks in just a few days. They fit perfectly. These guys are OK for day to day dry-cleaning stuff, as expected, but the dad is clueless and the son is an arrogant douchebag should any issue arise. Didn't get the stain out? Too bad! Him and his father could never do wrong, cleaning is what they do! They don't honor their own fine print and probably don't even know what it means. They'll say hi and everything, but NO understanding of customer service - expected from this type of person. They don't get the job done and don't know how to speak to their customers, on multiple occasions I have dealt with it. Darn, I was hoping I'd be the first to rate this little joint. I was recommended to this location by a former co-worker since I needed an original hem for my jeans taken in. For those of you who had never had this experience of doing so, an experienced tailor can take your original hem and sew it back on depending on how short you need your tailoring for your jeans. Once complete, the jeans look like they have never been touched. Do not go the ghetto way and get your jeans just sewn under, this will look like something your g-ma would do back in the day. Anyway, the owner is super-friendly and does a great job! I would highly recommend this place for all your denim pants. It's a bit far from the train, but worth the walk. Mr. Song, his wife and son, and Marcello are awesome. They run an awesome business. My husband is super into them so I kind of married into this arrangement (I had my own thing going on Avenue B). They lost a silk shirt of mine, early in our arrangement, and I can't guarantee that they even lost it because I was in the process of moving in with my man, and they literally asked me what the cost of replacement would be, and offered it to me. I declined because the intention was so right on (and I wasn't positive it was their mistake). Like any local business, if you are loyal to them, they'll be incredibly loyal to you. Five stars. I used to use Kapri Cleaners. I stopped because their service is terrible I spend a ton of money there, on average of over $125 per week, dry cleaning my suits. I also pay for tailoring: $17 to to replace the zipper on a skirt, $15 to shorten/hem a pair of slacks, etc. I did wash and fold twice. $10 for only 2lb of laundry. Unfortunately they lost a $250 pair of navy blue La Perla panties that belonged to a matching set, one time, and they also lost a brown Japanese tabi (split foot) sock, from a pair of tabi socks another time the second time. Both were not replaceable. :( At first they said I was the "only person who ever lost a pair of underwear or socks." As if ! Almost every time I have had to send clothes back to be re-done, when ordinary stains like deodorant or coffee were missed or didn't come out. Most of the time the clothes didn't even smell clean. I could smell whatever perfume or deodorant I had worn that day, still on them. The last time I used Kapri, they didn't send me back all the clothing they had cleaned and charged me for (but they "never lose anything.") A dress was missing. Luckily, I didn't forget about that dress. Another dress, an Alexandrea Grecco silk dress that was hand painted with light blue balloons on it, came back a different color! The balloons had somehow changed from pale blue to a much brighter, dayglo blue. Ick. The matching cardigan I wore with it, no longer matches. The color is so different. It changed from elegant to garish. They never bring me itemized receipts, just a credit card slip with the total. I had to ask for them repeatedly for itemized receipts. I sent in 10 winter sweaters, that I had taken out of my storage space. I asked them to dry clean the ones that needed to be dry cleaned and wash the rest (based on the garment's washing instructions). They called me to tell me some of the sweaters had small moth holes. (I guess they wanted me to know they didn't damage the sweaters) I told them not to worry about fixing or cleaning the sweaters with holes, just to forget about them do the rest. He "misunderstood" me and tailored and cleaned them anyway, charging me for the tailoring I didn't order. When I reminded him I told him not to do that, he said he would give me a credit of $10 on my next order (The tailoring was $40) However, he "forgot" to give me the $10 credit on my next order. This guy doesn't understand a word of English and he doesn't care about his customers or their clothes. His delivery boy is more professional than he is. I didn't want anymore of my clothes lost or ruined, so I stopped using them. read more

I came in to get some extra holes in my belts the older gentleman who I believe is the owner quoted me on $3 a belt I gave him 4 belts to do at the end he said it costed $20. I was so confused I said to him I thought it cost $3 a belt and than he said it's $3 a hole! I was in shock I would've never agreed to such a rip off price and he definitely tried to con me. After 10 minutes of debating I just left it alone and paid him the $20. Don't come here unless you want to get conned and ripped off. This place needs to just close down already. read more

REALLY DISHONEST BUSINESS. I hate this place but keep coming back because: 1) they are really close to home 2) I am lazy 3) I wear heels to work. Don't drop anything off here unless the wife is at the counter! The husband likes to just "tap, tap, tap" on the computer and make up prices along the way. The signs visibly say: $10 min for the first 10 lbs of laundry. $2.00 for wash/press shirt. However, there are upcharges for being a female. He charged me $6.50 to wash/press my plain button down cotton shirt and $14.50 for 5lbs of laundry because the signs are for MEN only. When I questioned it, he oh so kindly yelled at me to ask about pricing before making him enter it into the system. Grievances: 1) I think I just went back to 1870 2) Dishonest pricing and expensive to begin with 3) This is an OCD thing for me: They fold shirts/t-shirts inside out, which is just plain weird. We started having our laundry and dry cleaning picked up and it was decent. After 6 months, the service deteriorated. Several lost items, random underwear returned to us in our wash in fold (not ones we owned), and the business hours became inconsistent. Kapri says they open from 7am-7pm M-F but often we would call at 7:15am and no one would pick up. Also, the owner is very difficult to understand as is his wife. For what you pay, the service and friendliness factor needs to be raised. We no longer go to Kapri. The pick-up service was the only real convenience that kept us there longer than we planned since there are few places in the neighborhood with pick-up service. read more

I get my dry cleaning done here. Very friendly, family owned business, where they really make an effort to know and accommodate their habitual customers. My clothes are always on time, and they generally do an excellent job. I have also had several alterations done here, easy walk-in and expeditious service. My only complaint is that it is a tad bit pricey (especially the alterations), and their hours are not great (they close at 7 on weeknights - although they are open early). I brought my jeans here to hem and told them to keep the original seam and they did such a good job, I didn't even notice where was the work done. Also, had a dress tailored here as well. The first time I tried to pay with a Credit Card they told be they prefer cash. I insisted and they told me that my Platinum American Express was declined. I was forced to pay cash for a business dry cleaning. Called AMEX, waited 15 minutes to find out that there was never a charge placed. So they lied, they just wanted cash. Now, I just tried to pay for another set of dry cleaning with AMEX, this time they tell me that AMEX is not accepted! Out of all the places in this neighborhoor, they are not nearly as friendly. And quite expensive compared to the other options. I had to wait 6 days for my dry cleaning, to find out that they did not finish with one my items and I had to come back again. read more

I'll start by saying the customer service here is great. Everytime I call they are prompt and work to figure out a time to pick-up/drop-off my laundry and dry cleaning (unlike other places I've experienced in the area that tell you no flat out or stall or give you the run around). The guy that delivers the laundry is so nice, he always gets my name wrong, but calls me "my friend" and writes nice thank yous on the receipts. I never have cash, so when i do i try to tip him nicely... nevertheless, he's still so friendly! once my boyfriend moved in they even started dividing up which cards they will put the laundry/dry cleaning on and store both in their system... i can't imagine other places that would do that in the area. the laundry is affordable.. usually runs my boyfriend and i about $30 every few weeks for lots of clothing/bedding/towels/etc., but the dry cleaning is expensive. we get a lot done, but every time we say prices are a bit too high. but, i think it might be worth it since it's hard to find a place you can trust. yes, sometimes things are lost, or added that aren't mine, or they can't get a stain out, or once one appeared with some weird explaination, but they're doing mass work, and saving me time and energy. so overall, it's worth it. read more
