Tried to drop off glass bottles. The workers dumped out the glass bottles, breaking them in the process. They then said they do not accept glass bottles *without* labels. That there had to be a label on the bottle, which I had never heard before. When asked why this was an issue, they said call the boss and gave a number. Called, nobody answered and it did not give an option to leave a voice message. After dumping out the glass bottles then saying they don't accept it, they loaded back up the broken glass and forced us to take the broken glass home. read more

Well the rain has gone and the sun has shined during a cold winter day. My son and i went and loaded up my dads truck with 6 huge bags of bottle and cans, they have been saving for a while. As we pulled up antelope road at watt ave you can see the recycling center across the street. Quick left at the lights and quick right into the location. We dont even have the ignition off and a fellow smiling brings up 6 barrels and has them lined up next to us as we hop on out of the truck. A few more fellows proceed to help us get the bags out, and start separating our recyclables. My son starts getting nervous, hey what are they doing? Helping us.. (i hope) Oooh ok. They continue to talk with us, chatting up my son how he is a big helper, and he can come back in the summer and help. He gets all excited, woohoo! Dad were gonna be rich with all these bottles we have. I chuckel a bit, not yet son, many bottles we would have to collect to get there. But we have a start! =) So we finish up and all the helpers vanish back to their truck waiting for there load to fill up and bring it were it needs to go. The man who holds are riches weighs them up and hands over the goods. We were the only ones here at the time, but they kept all of our stuff with us, they weighed in front of us and everything was good! For a tiny pop up recycling place, with lot of helpers who are pleasant, helpful and cool. I give this place 5 bottles up! It might be dingy, dirty, thats the world of recycling, but it has smiling people who helped and went out of there way for someone who didn't need it or ask and that was awesome. Be careful they hide the meter weight so you don't see the full weight they steal from the people that bring there plastic bottles aluminum cans etc. I will never do business with them again other recycling centers near do better job read more

Well this place is ok for a nearby recycling center, and they do have a couple of helpers that are there to separate you cans, bottles, glass, etc. and they don't take certain plastic bottles. Like milk jugs, or detergents bottles. There is a parking lot, but you may have to back up or park in one the stalls at the liqueur store next door. The man that works thee is very nice and offers a fairly decent price on your recycling, but his help can use some improvement as I've seen a lot of drunks and homeless hanging out, or if not helping out. There's a couple of shady guys I've notice lingering around on watt ave that I would be careful with them helping you take things out of your car. So make sure not to leave your personal belonging in plan site, or out in the open, and maybe have someone come along for the extra help. read more

****USE THIS CENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK **** I went to this place approximately 6 weeks ago and had the worst experience, and I just though to post my experience with them now. It's a Tuesday morning and I have 6 very large (at least 75 gallon) bags filled to the top with crushed cans which I have already emptied into the plastic trash bins used to weigh the cans. I have thrown the bags in the garbage due to the now bad condition they are in. I'm approached by a dark haired dark skinned Hispanic mixed guy who is the guy in charge at that location. It's clearly apparent by his demeanor that he is very annoyed at the volume of cans that I'm trying to redeem for cash, and he immediately starts coming up with reasons why he will not "buy the cans from me." He picks out a "Cactus Cooler" soda can and tells me that "we don't take these" even though it was clearly marked on the top "CA cash value." He then proceeds to waste 30 minutes of my time picking out as many "Cactus Cooler" cans and throwing them out of my pile as he could find, then continues to pick out "Pepsi, Coke, and Dr. Pepper" cans meanwhile saying see, these aren't marked, even though they were clearly marked "CA cash value." He then accused me of going "out of state" to bring the cans to his center for redemption. That made absolutely no sense to me. Who would go out of their state of residence to collect that many (or any) cans to redeem in their state of residence? I thought maybe he might have been high on something as he appeared to have been. He ultimately refused to pay me for perfectly good aluminum cans. I could have made a scene which I would have had every right to do, but I simply turned around, got in my vehicle and started to drive off. At that time he came running up to my vehicle and asked me "Aren't you going to take your cans?" He very well knew that I had thrown the plastic bags in the trash due to the unusable condition they were now in and that I had no way to transport the cans as I did not have a truck, but instead an SUV. After I told him "look at what I'm driving here." "I have nowhere to put them." He then says to me as he approaches my vehicle to shake my hand "thanks man, I'll keep them then." This ploy was as obvious as his desparetly miserable and pathetic existence, and I could tell he needed whatever proceeds that those cans would garner MUCH more than I ever could, but this guy is the face of the business and that was really bad business conducted that day. Extremely unprofessional. Fairly clean, FAST service...these guys are quick. Wish they had a pay by item kiosk we end up loosing money. You have to have less than 50 items to get paid by item but if they are busy, like this morning they just weigh. read more
