We purchased a very expensive heat pump system from Jaime and JM. It's hard to state how poorly the system was configured and how many times we were lied to before we hired a different contractor to get our system working properly. If there were negative ratings available, I would use them. After installation we complained that the system ran loudly 24X7. We were told it was supposed to do that and deal with it because we were saving so much money with a heat pump. We asked multiple times to get someone to make our system quiet and JM finally stopped even responding. A new contractor came in, rewired the thermostat, replaced the thermostat and everything works perfectly. You've been warned, these guys are awful. read more

They were very punctual. i could set my clock by the time they said they would show up. They replaced our original gravity furnace with an electric heat pump furnace in our 109 year old house. Because there were originally not air ducts to each room, Jaime had to figure out how to adjust the airflow throughout our house. I understand business like this get busy and that certain times a year is really hard to find someone just to check an A/C unit. What I cannot understand is why a person in this business makes a very open appointment " I'll be there Thursday or Friday" and not only never shows up but he didn't even had the courtesy to call and let us know that he would not be coming at all? Why? so rude. It was already the weekend so we have no choice but to wait until Monday. Monday I call them again, and they promised to show up at noon to finally check and repair the A/C. At one pm I texted the technician/owner to see if they were close. His response was "No, probablyI would be there around 5".... Excuse me ? The guy who came to my home was SO RUDE and he didn't have an actual face mask on, it was a headband you would use to warm your ears, so of course it kept falling down. I mean HELLO?? COVID/Omicron??? So, he didn't really check anything out. He walked in, asked the issue and said I will let them know. I said aren't you going to look? JM Heating and Air Conditioning was dispatched by my home warranty company to diagnose and fix my non working A/C. It stopped working during a heat wave with temperatures above 100 degrees. Initially the A/C would not turn on. I put a stick down the unit to turn the fan blade and it started up. I knew something was wrong still because I shouldn't have to give my fan a kick start. Long story short, a very inexperienced technician was sent out to diagnose and repair my A/C. He ended up leaving my house with my A/C no longer working and told me the circuit board was bad and it would be a couple weeks to have it fixed. Being that it was a heat wave, there was no way I was going to live in these conditions so I called Air Masters and they came out immediately and had it fixed in 10 minutes. Turned out to be a simple capacitor change. Any HVAC technician with a little knowledge would have known this. I can't believe JM Heating and Air Conditioning couldn't diagnose and fix this simple problem and was going to let me sit in a house with inside temperatures above 90 degrees. In my opinion, they were taking advantage of me to up sell. read more

A year later and I'm having all kinds of issues with my ac that JM installed. I recently had another AC company take a look at why my coils outside were freezing. After looking at the unit and going up to the attic as well they determine that JM did a faulty install on the coils and ductwork. Essentially my coils outside we're freezing which meant that I had a leak or had low Freon. I had both issues. The new company installed a guy to help seal it however we believe that the hole in the coil is too big to seal because it's still freezing. The new AC company went up to inspect the work done by JM and determined that they did not install plenums which are required to be attached in front of the furnace and after the coils to regulate air temp as it the air exits it into the ducts. They did not do that which explains why the temperature reading on each vent is off and some off by 10° or more. Also when I opened the attic it was cold up there which meant that they didn't properly seal the ducts. JM didn't even seal the vents right. Horrible quality of work and ripping off customers is their game. I would never recommend these guys again. I know I have to pay another different reputable AC company that has more five star reviews than just the 19 that JM has. Unfortunately now I have to pay more money to have their faulty work fixed. I do not want them in my house ever again which is why I don't pursue theM for the fixes. They do more harm than good! read more

I requested services on an Air Conditional Unit in a rental from the guy who installed it. He refused to come and fix it. I call JM, who actually only installed my own Air Conditioning Unit at my home several years back. He was so friendly and remembered me. He immediately contacted the unit, and went there and fixed it the next day. It was during the last heat wave in early June. The service was wonderful and on time, and he was very honest, and fixed it with the root cause. I was very impressed with his professionalism and timeliness. He has not returned my text message but let my wife know he would be unable to fix our issue. Very confusing because when he left our home he said it was fixable. But the most horrific thing was watching one of the guys (his name was Marcus) stick his hand in his butt crack, scratch, and then sniff his fingers. I completely froze. We were assigned JM Heating And Air Conditioning by our home warranty to fix our air conditioner. Based on our past experience with our air conditioner, we knew it was not cooling. It seems to have a slow freon leak and needs to be recharged about every five years. JM Heating And Air Conditioning came out twice, told us it was working correctly, and that it was "just old". They refused to believe us. Meanwhile, our air conditioner was still not working and our home warranty put our account under suspension for the unpaid 2nd service fee. We had to fight with our home warranty to have a different service provider come out for a second opinion. We were able to finally get a different service provider who diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than five minutes: it needed freon. Now our air conditioner works great. Our home in Hayward that we recently purchased had an Air Condition unit malfunctioned. Great that was the last thing we needed after putting up all our savings towards our house.
