My wife is out of town, so my daughter and I want a home cooked meal. Of all the places in the Inland Empire, we want to go to Joanne's! The decor is 80's, many patrons are 80 plus, and there is nothing on the outside to recommend this place other than a lot full of cars... but there IS something about this place! A variety of dishes for everyone. Really good food, and I am always surprised at how low the bill is, wether it's just me or a group of ten plus. This is the only restaurant that we visit for breakfast. We discovered it when we lived in Ontario 5 years ago. Now we live about 25 miles away and we make the drive out there to enjoy the great customer service and delicious food. Every single breakfast dish we've ever ordered has been fresh, full of flavor, and very satisfying! I don't have a favorite dish because everything is so great, but the two that always stand out for us are the Chicken Fried Steak and Chorizo and Eggs. If you are in the mood for some great food, you need to go here. They make a great liver & onions. If you want smiley people or great service, forget it. I have been here multiple times and have never seen anyone smile. They have a gentleman who works up front busing or whatever, he is the least smiley person in the place. Came in for a quick bite to eat. We were seated prompt by the buss boy. Very Impressed. He got us our drinks. Our waitress came over and took our order. My friend had a soup and salad and the Potato soup tasted like week old clam chowder. We waited about 15 minutes for our waitress so we could send the soup back but she never came by. We looked around for her and she was standing at the counter counting her tips. We then flagged down the awesome buss boy and he quickly sent her over to us. We also sat with empty glasses. What can I say we walked in and no one spoke to us .. finally when they did the guy walking to the table coughed in his hand and touched the spoons,forks, and knives my family had to eat with.We ordered our food and drinks and once the food got to the table my daughter took a bite of her food only to find out that it was COLD not warm ,not luke warm, not hot, but cold like some juice out the fridge.So with that being said I'm not coming here again. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place! Would 100% recommend to anyone. My family and I love coming for breakfast.the food is great, I have never had a problem! All the staff members are awesome, VERY attentive which is always nice. The waitresses are very welcoming and always has answers to any question. BUT I had over heard the manager gossiping with another waitress which they had mentioned who wasn't there. If you come for breakfast during the week, you will share this retro building with all the local senior citizens, but it's nice & quiet so it's perfect for catching up with a friend. But, if you come on the weekend, be prepared for an echo-ey & loud experience with a million kids & their loud conversing families. Joanne's has VERY affordable prices, but they don't skimp on food quality...a rarity in these type of diners in this economy. My favorite thing about this unimaginatively decorated diner is the fact that they serve very fresh cut fruit & they include sliced banana AND you may choose yummy Zucchini Bread instead of toast. Oh my goodness!!!!! This restaurant is amazing!! The hash browns are good, the eggs were perfect and the biscuits and gravy were beyond delicious. So fresh and tastes home made. The pancakes and French Toast were great and the omelet my husband had was so good. Besides the food, the service was awesome. Our waitress was cherry, friendly and fast. I pass by this restaurant every day so I thought I'd stop by. Considering it had been open so long, I figured this would be a pleasant experience. Wow, was I wrong. First off, nobody greeted me at the entrance, I had to ask a bus boy to be seated. The bus boy was nice, he served me water right away. I sat for 15 minutes, no waiter/waitress had approached me. I figure they are busy, but then a waitress (on her shift, btw) sits down in the booth next to me with a couple she knows. At this point I'm annoyed. I call over a waitress to finally get my order taken. The waitress was sweet and curteous, her name was Lety I think. I ordered the country fried steak w/biscuits and gravy. Honestly, the steak was dissapointing, it looked like a microwave steak. The biscuits and gravy were quite delicious though. Oh, then halfway through my meal the waitress brings me the cranberry juice I ordered when I first sat down. Greaaat service. Needless to say I won't be returning to this establishment, I suggest you do the same. P.s. the employees seemed to be on first name basis with a lot of customers, they have a lot of "regulars." I went today for breakfast...it was really good. I had eggs benedict, my cousin the Jumbo Breakfast and my baby a kids meal. The servings are big and good price...overall very yummy! Only problem was the service. The food took a long time to be served and they blame it on the holiday however when you would ask for a glass of water, it would take about 15 minutes(and I could see they could have done it right away because the waitress helpers had moments of being idle). Seems that when you would ask for something they would forget about it. For example: I also asked for my son's breakfast to be served first..and it came 40 minutes later along with our adult meals. I understand the cooks are busy but is the server to push things thru specially when a 2 year old is telling the waitress, every time she passes by "Pancakes?". My son was hungry. Food was good...attention not so good. I have seen busier places with more chaos and less staff and yet they seem more interested to take care of you in a more personable-faster way. They communicate more even if the food is not up yet. A simple "Can I get you something else in the meantime? and if so, do it right away. read more

We've been coming here for years.... almost 7 years so far. The owner knows my family and kids by name. The people are always very professional, greeting you, getting coffee right away, and the breakfast is AMAZING. Even when it's "packed" the wait isn't long. I have never experiences bad service here. I've tried pancakes, waffles, chicken fried steak (my favorite, try it!), and probably every other breakfast option. Its all good. Great, actually. The prices are good also. This is one of the only great diners private owned left in area. The cooks are great so the food is consistent. I personally love breakfast and I find this is my go to place now. The prices are great. My favorite waitress, Bobby, knows me now and my "usual" is always perfect.
