JoAnnes exterior appearance doesn't look appealing when you walk to the restaurant (but what mom and pop restaurant does?) The inside decor is also dated with a familiar family restaurant feeling. Thriving plants spread around the perimeter of this traditional layout. I feel the luck and fortune beaming as these plants are growing close to the ceiling. The waitress, Bobbie, was very pleasant and helpful. Always several steps away with coffee at hand waiting to fill a cup. I get the feeling this place is a staple for many people as you see regulars chatting w Bobbie. The food options are wide as most diners are.

I went with my go-too, chicken fried steak. A usual staple for me at any new breakfast spots. The chicken fried steak was exceptional and the hash brows crispy as I asked. The only down side were the pucks they drizzled gravy on....

I don't have a favorite dish because everything is so great, but the two that always stand out for us are the Chicken Fried Steak and Chorizo and Eggs. Oh....and the coffee.....the coffee is simply wonderful!

We're back again for breakfast. The customer service is excellent and the food is delicious, taste like homemade.We ordered a Frittata omelette with fruit and a colossal half pound cheeseburger with fries.We have been coming to this establishment for decades. The ambience is nicely decorated with plenty of booths and tables and Counter to sit down and enjoy your meal there's plenty to choose from the menu breakfast lunch, and dinner.

This place is great for the local regulars. I sat at the counter and listened to my Server greet everyone as they came in. Took the time to have a conversation with them as I waited to place my order. Food was standard diner food... no bells and whistles. Coffee was good. The parking lot does get crowded on Sunday mornings. I believe the Owner was also helpful and pleasant to hear as she manned the food coming out of the window and spoke with customers coming in. Not sure I will return, but that doesn't mean YOU shouldn't give it a try. Respectfully Reviewed.

I always come here during the weekend for their breakfast, but today was the first time I was able to order from their entree menu since I arrived after 11am. I ordered the Patty melt with the side of French fries (you can select fries, coleslaw or fresh fruit). We also ordered the Salisbury steak with the side of chicken soup and garlic bread. The food was delicious, my patty melt and fries were a bit oily, but it's fried food so it's to be expected. The Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes had a good flavor. Even though it was busy we were promptly attended to and had plenty of water and coffee refills. If you order breakfast make sure to ask for a side of salsa!

1/26/25 Another local favorite patronized, will DEFINITELY return, good grub & excellent service! Not feeling like cooking today as I am feeling lazy & Hubby is not going to cook either. Hubby actually chose this local restaurant. When I say local, we could've worked up an appetite & walked. Surprisingly at 11 am on a Sunday with a n almost full parking lot, we were immediately seated upon entry. Drinks were offered ASAP, friendly busboy. Within minutes, Lorena, our server graciously welcomed us with a very friendly smile. Loving this place already! Ambiance is warm, clean, diner style, comfortable with booths, tables & counter service. The staff are all busy bees & the servers in particular are running on crack (okay by crack, I mean coffee/caffeine but in a wonderful way). I feel very much welcomed like a regular & like family. My coffee arrived promptly along with Hubby's Diet Coke as Lorena took our orders: Hubby's Machaca w/ beans & rice, for me blueberry pancakes, 2 over medium eggs & 2 strips of crispy bacon. I took more photos & when I returned, our food was ready! Just like that! WowZaH, fast & friendly-what more could you ask for... well the lady (owner/manager) up front could use more of that crack the servers are on!, maybe a little smile on her beautiful face certainly couldn't hurt. My food was delicious! The pancakes in particular are soft, fluffy with a delicate chew, plenty of blueberries folded in (no powdered sugar as I requested), perfectly over medium eggs, bacon is delightfully crispy. Hubby was not as impressed with his Machaca, he said it was not seasoned well enough, but he polished off his entire plate (and usually he does not eat the beans). My coffee was decent and I had about 3-4 cups (one I tried black) Overall, will surely return to try other items in the menu, Lorena said we will definitely be regulars soon enough. She was right from the get go. Now that confidence! I like her! Plenty of parking, restrooms are clean. Glad Hubby found this spot

Excellent place for chisme with the bestie. Bobbi, our server was just lovely. She was so kind and attentive. Inside is classic old school diner vibes. Long counter, very 70s or early 80s type styling. My pancakes? Perfectly fluffy. The Hashbrowns, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and well seasoned. My friend had the biscuits and gravy and graciously let me have a bite.; 10/10 no notes!

Local restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. We have only had breakfast there. The restaurant is always crowded which is a good sign. The good news is there is plenty of seating so we never have waited mute than a few minutes. A wide variety of menu items to choose from. I had a meal from the smaller appetite options. One egg, two slices of bacon, home style potatoes, and I slice of toast. All for about $10. The egg was cooked as I requested, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. The potatoes were a bit bland and very soft. Could have used higher flame when cooking to crisp them up a bit. Maybe I'll order hash browns next time. Service was quick and efficient.

We have been here two times and it's our favorite local restaurant. The customer service is outstanding. The waitress Bobbie kept checking on us. I had the breakfast burrito. It was big and very tasty. The other time I was there, I had the pancakes, which were the best pancakes I ever had, buttey and fluffy; it came with bacon and eggs. My husband had the steak and eggs and he enjoyed them. We will definitely return often. On the weekdays you get served quickly on the weekend. It's quite busy, so be prepared to wait. The ambience is very family friendly. The best part about it is that everything is so clean. It might have a little bit of 90s decor, and it is outdated, but that's the point of cafés. Two thumbs up all around.

I've eaten here twice and had a good experience both times. The food was decent and so was the customer service. The restaurant was clean and comfy. I like the little aquarium and mini pond at the front. I don't have much else to add but I have no complaints.

I was in the area for a job and passed this place and it looked cute. Decided to stop in for breakfast and am seriously so glad I did. As you walk up to the front, there's the sound of running water with a little pond full of the cutest critters, some red eared sliders, and some koi. Off to a pretty good start, this was refreshing. Upon entering, you're greeted by the staff in a very large and open setting, it's clean, and very nostalgic which I love. The staff looked happy to be there, lots of smiles and were talking to their guests like family, immediately started to feel at home. We were seated quickly in a nice comfy booth, and started to check out the menu. There's a little bit of something for everyone, but we went with some basics as you can see in the pictures. I liked that the menu had several items for the "less hungry" crowd, which I could very much appreciate. While we were waiting for our food, our server Leti passed by with some chicken noodle soup that the smell reminded me of a very near and dear soup I'd grown with. When I asked her about it, she even brought me a small little bowl to try it!!! That never happens, and it was literally the best I'd had since, so needless to say I brought home a large to-go amount for later. From beginning to end, Leti made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. Her customer service and attitude are out of this world, and for that we will actually be making the occasional drive out there from city of Orange, it was that nice of an experience. Thank you Leti, the staff, and the cooks for delivering such an amazing breakfast experience, we look forward to dining with you in the (not so distant) future.

Went to Joann's today. The food was very good :) I had the hot turkey open faced sandwich. The gravy looked and tasted homemade. It was delicious. The service in the very begining was not so great. However, towards the end, the made up for it. So, they will get 3 stars from me. read more

Found myself in the area and needed a good breakfast. Was not disappointed. Not gourmet and probably not quite Corky's or Brandon's, but I enjoyed it. Coffee was good too. The employees were friendly and efficient. The place was clean (Health Grade A) though it's a bit worn. I used to eat here decades ago when it was a pie shop. No pie now, but pretty good BLD. read more

Great service and amazing food. We were driving by and curiosity got us to stop for brunch. It was well worth it! Had the Eggs Benedict and stuffed french toast combo. I've been going here for years.. So I will break it down.. Its a breakfast and lunch place.. Meaning things are more fresh.. Dinner can be a hit or miss...(meaning stomach ache or no stomach ache) When ever I have dinner here, I feel bloated. I had dinner here the other day with my mom and sister and after my meal. I felt bloated and I began to sweat... and I felt a little sick...... My mom and sister (we each had different meals. My sister fired chicken, mom grilled chicken, my self, I had the meat loaf) Our plans were to go to the store afterward but 15, min into driving both my sister and my mom wanted to go home, so they could use the bathroom.. While at home, I felt bloated.. None of us had soda. Maybe it was the water they severed, because that's all we drank.. If they serve tap water, that has to change... Breakfast is good.. There was one time my hash browns seemed watery on the inside.. Lunch is good if you want a burger or grilled cheese... Again things like eggs, sandwiches are kinda things made to order... Oh on my meat loaf,. it was dry. I did have it with out the gravy because they serve it with brown gravy and I prefer a tomato sauce... Because brown seems too Salisbury steak to me.. So I put ketchup... But it did not help.. If you go here don't drink the water... I'm not being nit picky you just have to know what to order.. Their omelets are great... But the rest seems processed... I will say service is great.. Great breakfast place.. For dinner..... not so much.. read more

I have passed this restaurant for a while, and today I decided to stop in and check it out. I had a hot sandwich that consisted of white bread topped with pot roast & gravy, with a side of mashed potatoes. The dish was tasty & comforting. Simple and casual atmosphere gave a laid back appeal to it. As I waited for my order, I noticed the interaction with the waitress in our area, and several customers in which they ranted about the meals they were eating. Not something I have seen in a while, if ever. The simplicity of my meal left me full, and satisfied. I gave Joanne's 4 stars, and have definitely found a new place to dine! read more

I've been coming to Joanne's off and on for almost 10 years. I really like this diner. Typical diner food and delicious zucchini bread. I've never ordered something and hated it. I used to come for the dinner specials and lunch specials. The only negative is that you used to be able to add a soup or salad to your meal for about $1.99 I think. Which is the norm for most places... But they removed that option and to add a cup of soup is $3.49 now. Maybe it seems steep because I remember when it used to be a buck to add a soup. It stinks cuz they have good soups and salads with beets. read more

I want to thank the owner's & staff for the COVID safety precautions they are employing. Great job! Has been one of our favorite restaurants for a long time. Quick little family style dinner. Had breakfast burrito, ordered a specific way (minus onions) and the burrito came with minimal ingredients. A little disappointed in the food, however for what it is. I guess by too many complaints. Vent near end of shift for wait staff, service was a bit slow and drink refills were not taken care of. I expected a little better service. Price for quantity is decent. Taste of food was sub-par. Service was below average. Over all, I would give this an average rating. If your hungry and just want a quick fix. This will work, but based on all the others around. Would seek another place to eat. read more

I have been coming to this establishment for over 4 yrs. Today I was very disappointed. I ordered my usual ham and eggs, the ham was really salty. At first I thought it was just me so I had my husband try it and he said the same very salty. I brought it to our servers attention and all she could say is that is why she doesn't eat the ham. I told her this was the first time this has happened to me, so she asked if I wanted something else, by then I had lost my appetite. I wasn't looking for a freebie but at least a discount. BTW my daughter had ordered the same thing and left her plate iust as I did. read more

I have been a client of this restaurant for 12 years, I come here with my family and / or friends, they have good prices and the food is delicious. The only truly annoying thing is that some waitresses instead of attending to you and taking the order, they start to talk among themselves or with other customers and they neglect to you, you have to wait until they take your order or they deliver it to you already warm. The customer service has dropped a lot of quality, and that is very annoying, at least I do not return even though I love it. I do not like being treated poorly. I hope that the owners pay attention to this problem because they are losing many customers and maybe they do not know why. read more

Curiosity stopped us to Joanne and.....OMG sooooo good. My friend had biscuit and gray. He really enjoyed them, I hand the Reuben sand. Haven't had a reuben this amazing in forever, I moaned for every bite...the flavors, worth the calories . It's a hidden jewel and WELL recommended. Come here for a quick bite of love. You can taste the TLC. I'm coming back here if ever back in town. read more

Ever since I moved here to Ontario I'd pass by & never stopped by because it is kind of hidden & didn't know the place, so I'd thought id give it a try & im glad my family & I did. The place looks clean & quiet. The people who dine here are elders. The staff are friendly & nice. What's great about this place too is that you can order on the phone and pick it up in the restaurant. & when I went to pick up my order the woman helping us out made sure there was enough condiments for us. Now for the food we ordered the stuffed French toast with the combo & fried zucchini. Wow the French toast is absolutely delicious & you can tell is made from scratch! As for the zucchini, it is sooo good and freshly cooked, it's crunchy and melts in my mouth. Overall, the customer service is good & food is absolutely great! I will definitely be returning here read more

I wanted good breakfast and wanted to get onion rings I've been craving for last couple of days. I gotta say that it was the best food I've ever eaten. The Veggie omelet was nice and filling with great taste and not bland like some places I have tried. The onion rings dang. They were filling but were perfect for me. They didn't have a lot of grease and I know want to go soon again to try something else with a side of onion rings lol. Honestly try this place at least once. Thank you to the cooks who worked this morning your food was good! read more

Really old style cafe, been here a couple times, clean restrooms and tables. Waiter refills my cup of coffee before I even know it! Ive ordered the house breakfast potatoes with bell peppers and tried eggs Benedict and it was pretty good. Would like to go back again. read more

Hubby and I went to have breakfast here on a Saturday am. The waitress was extremely rude. She forgot our toast and when we asked her for it she was like "what?" like "What do you want attitude" The oatmeal my husband ordered was like old gravy with no oats. The hashbrowns i had were extremely greasy. We overhead an argument between another waitress and the cook. Very unpleasant and OVERPRICED! They have a lot of work to do! read more

Well i tryed to eat at joannes about a year or so back....IT WAS REALLLLL BAD FOOD & V E R Y BADDDDD SERVICE. The breakfast was NOT cooked all the way & we waited what seem like FOREVER to get the dam food...NOT TASTY AT ALL...And the gal that waited on us ACTED like she could CARE LESS...WE SENT THE SO CALLED FOOD BACK...WE LEFT NEVER 2 RETURN...Oh about the tip...THE TIP IS DONT EAT THERE. read more

Basically a very good place to eat breakfast on a weekend morning, although it can get busy. So plan on waiting a little to either find parking and/or get a seat. You can also park on the street if there is room.The service here is great! Everyone is so friendly and attentive which I feel makes the restaurant have a nice, warm feel to it. The food is great and is priced reasonably. Wouldn't say it's spectacular, but for what you pay for, it definitely leaves you satisfied!! The waffle is good and comes with strawberries on top, but it is only served until 11am. Whipped cream costs extra! The country fried steak is really good and comes with your choice of toast. The jumbo breakfast is filling and has a little bit of everything for the indecisive (like myself...) for around 8 bucks. Everything I've had was really tasty and pretty good! The outside has a little pond with koi fish and turtles so you can keep your little ones entertained if there's a long wait. I really like coming here when I'm in the area. read more

It's a great neighborhood American diner. I love the breakfast selection and I've had most of their omelettes. Their zucchini bread is delicious. The portions are very generous. The staff is friendly and as a regular, they love catching up with you. read more

Bland food and almost everything we ordered was either cold or lukewarm. If that wasn't bad enough I found a hair in my food. 2 stars only because the staff was nice and they didn't charge me for my meal after I showed them the hair in my food. Won't be returning read more

Came for breakfast today with the fam and we all enjoyed everything we had. Their pancakes are very good, they don't fall apart and get mushy like the ones at IHOP. Portions were plentiful. I had a club sandwich with avocado which was pretty big and tasty. The fries were very good, crispy with just the right amount of salt. I sampled some of my wife's ribeye steak which was thin but what do you expect for a sub $9 steak and eggs. Everyone was friendly and attentive to our needs. They have a varied menu so we'll probably be back to try some of their dinner. They have a nice little koi pond with turtles right outside that my girls got a kick out of and I thought was pretty out of the ordinary. read more

Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, but a panini pressed chicken and cheese is baseline good. Turkey Swiss: had no arugula, and I mean not a huge deal but if its unavailable it should be expressed or at least changed on the menu? Again not a bad sandwich but it was just a turkey Swiss panini with not much else so I'm not sure if i would want to pay $10+ for it. I want to try their matcha but I'm debating if its worth to gamble seeing if it's going to be good matcha or just a sweet drink. Nothing wrong with a sweet treat, but more a personal preference if I'm looking for a quality coffee/ matcha.

So good! For foods, I ordered a deliciously flaky Almond Croissant, that was topped with sliced almonds and powdered sugar and filled with their house-made almond paste. I highly recommend visiting Mestiza Coffeehouse and shop one of its many vendors of goods in the seating area.

About 8 hours later, after grilling dinner, both my wife and I suddenly became extremely sick. Severe stomach pain, nonstop trips to the restroom, and all the signs of food poisoning hit us hard. Our guest had just started eating dinner while my wife and I were both stuck dealing with the symptoms. The symptoms carried throughout the entire night and are still lingering. Both of us have been dealing with fevers, body aches, nausea, stomach cramps, and constant trips to the restroom. It completely ruined what started as such a special Mother's Day for our family. I normally don't leave reviews like this, but I felt it was important to share our experience. I truly hope this was an isolated incident, especially on a busy holiday, but I also hope food handling and quality control are looked into so no other families have to spend Mother's Day ending like ours did.

We were seated right by the entrance, so there is no chance she somehow forgot we were there. After finishing our meal, we sat waiting for an unreasonable amount of time while continuing to be ignored. Eventually, we had to get up and ask for our check ourselves because apparently that was too much to expect. At that point, it was obvious that nobody working there cared whether we had a good experience or not. I've worked in customer service and understand that places get busy, but this wasn't a matter of being busy, it was a matter of not caring. We were treated as if we didn't exist. If this is the standard of service this restaurant accepts, there are plenty of other places that deserve your money far more than this one. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting even the bare minimum level of customer service. Tacos were good, ill give them that.

We've been eating here ever since it became JoAnne's. Not only is the food relatively inexpensive, it's plentiful and good! I usually always wind up taking a big portion of my meal home with me. They have lunch specials as well, that come with a sandwich, a side, and a fountain beverage. The place is clean, the staff courteous, professional, helpful, and fast. My favorite staff member is Lety, who is in my opinion the fastest and most courteous waitress in a workplace full of great waitstaff! read more
