1/2 of my Fish tacos combo. I was hungry!
    Serena C.

If you're in the Evanston, WY area & happen to be craving Mexican food, but have little time to spare, you might like Paff's. Well...if you're not my husband, that is...he's still complaining about his rinky dinky tostada for $8 and the non-Mexican mozzarella cheese on top. But since I'm running this Yelp account and not him, I say it was pretty great for a semi-fast food restaurant. The fish tacos tasted fresh. I enjoyed the accompanying sauce. Beans and rice taste better than they looked on the menu. Salsa wasn't bad either. Not much of a kick, but still satisfying. My photo is of half my meal since you couldn't stop me from devouring the first taco even if it was on fire. Road trips make me hungry! What can I say! The Yelp photos show a wall menu - that's no longer the case. It's now booth & menu seating, however, I was pleasantly surprised the food came out in a jiffy so we could get back on the road to finish our 1600 miles. For the sake of peace, I split the ratings difference and gave Paff's 3.5 stars.

The Menu at Paff's! For those of you needing it!

Great food! Awesome selection! Great little place to eat at especially if you're traveling through! Close to the Interstate!

I cleaned the whole plate. Lol

When you find yourself on the I80 toward Cheyenne exit 150. You'll find a place called paff's. They serve Mexican food and American food. Try the carne asada plate the meat is tender and cooked to perfection the rice and beans simply magnificent. I only wish I would have taken a picture of the food before I started eating. But I was too hungry and the only pic is my clean plate. Lol.

The donut circle was made up of small pieces of the dough, giving it a scalloped appearance. It was enjoyable to pull off a piece with each bite. That part kinda reminded me of pull apart bread..? Seriously, such a fun mashup of two treats in one. I have no idea how they made the texture so good but I'm craving another mochinut. We went in the middle of the day, and the lady immediately rushed out and greeted us. Very good service, clean facility. Fresh mochi donuts were seen in the glass case, and examples were at the front of the shop by the register. We ordered 6 donuts, and we chose plain, the s'more, maple, chocolate topped, and the dragonfruit. All were delightful.

But they one employee working (maybe the owner) totally knew the product and how to ring us up. It was a smooth transaction. This strip mall location is more than just a counter to go. There is a cafe with some table top seating. There you can enjoy boba, Korean dogs, or their namesake mochinut "donuts". They didn't have their hot dogs today because it was their soft opening, which is on the top of my list to try. So we took a 6-pack of mochinuts to try a variety of flavors. We had never had Mochinut before, even though it's a national chain. Mochinut are made from rice flour, making them chewier than a traditional wheat flour donut. The mochinut distinct feature is their string-of-pearls look. The look is fun and I can see the novelty to their brand, but the overall flavor of the dough isn't that special in my opinion. The mochinuts are also quite expensive at $3 per piece. Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 Food: 2 (only rating mochinuts) I will return to try their hot dogs, but I won't be back for their donuts.

The burger is a good smash burger and the brat is a good brat. Both were cooked great and good choice of options for whatever toppings/options you may be feeling. The onion rings were fire. My two negatives: 1: The price. It's not insanely expensive, especially when you consider how large the size of the items are, but definitely on the pricier side if you're just wanting to hop over on lunch break or something. 2: The buns. I have to assume their Hawaiian bun is a love it or hate it type of deal. I found the buns too sweet and they got soggy very quickly. It's a cool idea with the Hawaiian bun, but I found it to be less than desirable for my own taste. Would be cool to see an alternative option. Overall a good spot and will likely be coming back.

He then walked away to the back and didn't come back. For several minutes. We ended up ordering digitally, which was fine. But we sat there for a few minutes wondering if the guy was going to come back... It took 20 minutes to get our food. (There were maybe 3-4 other people in the restaurant, it wasn't busy.) When we got our food, my chili and my hotdog were cold... and my husband's order was wrong. I would have given this review 2 stars... but I'm giving it 3 stars because the food tasted pretty good, and when we gave them the feedback in person, they actually wanted to make it right, and they gave us a cookie.... And I have to say... the consolation cookie was pretty good! ;)

No, you probably do not know what a Sonoran Dog is. So no, you don't know if this is authentic or…read morenot. I'm from Tucson. I tried almost every Sonoran Dog offering--restaurant, food truck--in Tucson. Seriously. And have Yelp reviewed and rated them all. Folks, this is the real deal. So what makes a Sonoran Dog? First, the hot dog. bacon wrapped, with the right sized pinto beans, and diced tomatoes and onions. Next, mayo, guac sauce, and sometimes mustard, depending on the vendor. Often served with a grilled pepper. So far, so good. But if you don't have this final ingredient, IT IS NOT A SONORAN DOG! And that is.... ....THE BUN! Sonoran dogs are only Sonoran Dogs if it has the right bun. These are the right buns. Well...I'll say it is 99% the real buns. He gets them shipped in from Phoenix, I believe. Phoenix does not have the best Sonoran Dogs. In Tucson (the first North American city to be named a "Gastronomic Capitol of the World" by UNESCO) *all* Sonoran Dog vendors get their buns from Alejandro's Bakery. Period. *All* of them. And they are a special bun. Long, in which the hot dog actually fits, tapered at each end, fluffy, and ever so slightly sweet. Half of the enjoyment of eating a Sonoran Dog is the bun. And often you end up with a bite or two with no more dawg and it is a pleasure to eat that left-over bun with still a few of the other ingredients in it. With Chipilon style of Sonoran Dog (from a certain Mexico province of the same/similar name?) the bun is toasted on the grill on both sides and there is cheese at the bottom of the bun, which is melted. This is how he serves them. And the toasted bun is the best way to have a Sonoran Dog in my opinion. So I say his buns (from Phoenix) are 99% real because these buns have one end sort of sliced off. But that does not detract from the experience of eating these fine dawgs. The only drawback for me is that these dawgs cost $8.50. But hey, we're in Utah, and he has to import the buns, so that's an extra cost. In Tucson, anyone would balk if the dawg cost more than $3.50. But for me, this is the only game in town. And it's a good one. And he serves his with Duros de harinas (Mexican wagon wheel chips). And tonight I tried a combo that comes with any version of dawg he does plus a "mini quesadilla," which wasn't so "mini" as he stuffs it with a generous amount of cheese and you get three triangles. He's in the Latinos Furniture parking lot on Redwood in West Jordan. In case you use Apple Maps, until they accept the correction I sent them, it is on the east side of Redwood: 7659 S Redwood Rd. His weekly location (if different than Latinos) is on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nanassonoranhotdogs. Even my wife, who doesn't like hot dogs, like Sonoran Dogs and likes these Sonoran Dogs. Check it out! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

He got a polish dog with special sauce, sauerkraut, and a pickle, and was impressed! Solid 8.5/10; he said it's not as good as Portillo's (the gold standard for Chicago dogs) but still liked it. He said he doesn't usually like hot dogs, but could see himself craving it. I got a beef dog with special sauce, onions, and a sprinkle of celery salt, and it hit the spot for me (9/10)! I would've wanted the server to be a bit more heavy-handed with the special sauce, but there are free little to-go cups you can grab yourself, so I definitely added some to mine.
