He reminded me of the kind of neighborhood dad who looks out for everyone, and from the moment I met him, I felt like I was in good hands. I originally went to him because my car kept failing its smog check. Instead of simply taking my money, Charlie explained that I needed to complete a proper drive cycle and encouraged me to come back so he could check it again. In fact, he checked my smog twice without charging me a penny. When I still didn't pass the second check with him, he didn't just send me on my way. He suggested I buy catalytic converter cleaner from a nearby auto parts store to improve my chances the next time, since my catalytic converter was the reason I kept failing. The first place I went never mentioned that. Charlie also told me to drive it a little longer and come back the next day, and he was true to his word. He was there exactly when he said he'd be and checked it again at no charge. The reason I stopped at Charlie's station in the first place was because I overheard two women at a grocery store talking about how wonderful he was. After my own experience, I completely understood why. It's becoming increasingly rare to find someone in this industry who is this honest, patient, dependable, and genuinely invested in helping people. Charlie earned my trust without ever asking for it. In a world where it's easy to become skeptical, people like him are a breath of fresh air. I only wish there were more Charlies around. Every person in this industry could take a page from Charlie's book and prioritize honesty and integrity.

He pumped gas in his personal car first, finished pumping, looked back at us (we were waiting for pump 7) and then walked away and started serving customers. So my husband walked up and asked "#7 broken?" And he didn't say anything but just get upset, and walked all huffy and puffy and angrily walked to his car, started it and drove fast and peeled out to move and park behind the pumps, opened his door, slams door and walks back to his post angry AF. My husband then moved his car up and walked up to pay for the gas. He even apologized to him and said "sorry about that, you seem upset" and they attendant just ignored him and kept on being pissy with his pissed off self. RUDE AF!! Don't block the pumps and park your car there, and if a customer comes to you, dammit, you're in customer service so be nice and cordial, very unprofessional! We didn't appreciate his attitude! It's the 2nd cheapest gas prices in town the other one is Ralph's gas station on Washington and lake Ave and then Arco gas on Washington Blvd as well. Come here for a quick stop gas and refreshments and snacks. My only complaint about this location is that sometimes their credit card payment out by the pump doesn't read your card and would have to go inside. I told the older Man inside (maybe the owner) he just gets so defensive and says it probably my card but it literally worked after going inside to swipe hahah. It happened to me several times. I don't know why it's so difficult for him to just simply say "sorry for the inconveniences we're working on getting that fixed !" Instead of blaming customers that it's our fault or it must be our banks fault haha! Other than that, I would still come here just to try to come early because the pump is small and cars may be too big to fit if there's a truck or longer vehicle that would be pumping gas. I had a tire get too low this week and so sucked up the $2 credit card fee (tried quarters first and it just ate them) for the Air/Water and it's no good! No matter what angle I tried it only bled my tire instead of added more while I followed the directions between measuring PSI or adding air, I was so frustrated and stressed! If you need to put air in your tires, Chevron at Atlantic and Commonwealth has FREE AIR (& water) and I should have just gone there first for that issue.
