Meh, they couldn't get a cheese pizza right! The tomato sauce didn't taste quite right. Won't recommend going here.

I was hankering for some wings. It's hard to find good wings around anymore. I figured since this place generally has good pizza, they must have good wings. Right? Well, wrong, these were the worst wings I've ever had. I ordered these for take out, I only live a few minutes away so I know they would be hot and fresh when I got home. The first thing I noticed as I was walking in was how absolutely dirty and disgusting the entrance door is. So much grime build up on the handles and frame, obviously hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. The order was getting bagged up as I got to the counter, so no wait. The staff were nice and friendly. I grab my bag and rush home. I open the box and the disappointment sets in. They are barely sauced and it's painfully obvious that they aren't crispy. The sauce was bland, practically flavorless. The wing meat just cooked through, no pink, but dry. The skin, the poor poor skin, rubbery and chewy. I am sad now. I gave this two stars only because the staff was nice and that I do know they usually have good pizza. read more

Decent NY style pizza. They routinely have slice specials and a wide variety of pizzas pre-cooked and ready to go. It's very convenient for the area and in close proximity to the highway for a quick "grab and go" while shopping or traveling. My last visit wasn't amazing but it was good enough. I've noticed the last few times here that there has been a decline in cleanliness and quality of staff. Not sure the issues but hopefully they clean it up soon. read more

Gross!!!!! This was just awful pizza! Not sure about the location, but we ordered delivery and it was by far the worst pizza in America. How does this happen in NY?! Got a 14in marg and a 14in gluten free, with all the fees on DoorDash this would have been almost $100-!!! But the DashPass brought it down to a little over $70-... These clowns, shoemakers, thieves, etc. are now selling "stuffed pizza" where the crust is just "stuffed" with more crust... there's no cheese in it, nor anything else, it's just a thick crust that they have the audacity to call "stuffed" in order to rip you off. It should now be abundantly clear that they are trying to pass off a thicker pizza as a "stuffed crust pizza". HEY TIMMY BOY: "Stuffed" has a specific definition in pizza parlance. It means the crust has cheese rolled inside it. To stuff a food is to put some other food INSIDE it, not to put more toppings on top of it or to make it heavier. This is the third time they messed up. First was the wrong toppings on my pizza. (I did not say anything, just tried to enjoy the pizza) mushrooms and anchovies. I ordered pepperoni and banana peppers. Second, they burnt my pizza it was uneditable. Third, Wings severely undercooked. Dropped in a fryer for 2-5 mins then taken out. This is how people get sick. This is a place to go if you are looking for nyc type pizza. It is really good. I would rate this my second favorite just behind pizza stop downtown. They have so many options for slices. Because I am short I couldn't see very well on the lower counter but that's on me. From 3-5 they had a sign for bogo slices which is a great deal. I had a slice of four cheese garlic and traditional cheese. I was surprised that I loved the garlic a lot more than the cheese. The cheese pizza has significant pizza sag when you picked it up like it wasn't cooked fully. The garlic was thin and crispy with zero pizza sag. The employees here are nice and friendly. If you use credit card there is a sign they charge a surcharge.. for slices no big deal but for a larger order that would be annoying. They had a table set up to eat in if you chose. Listen, I love this place. Have been going here for years. But, I've noticed the customer service has definitely changed, and not in a good way! Last night, I went to pick up an online order. Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted with "What do you need?" I said here for pickup and gave my name. I was repeatedly asked "Huh?" and "What?" I understand it's loud in kitchens, but the lady didn't even move to try to hear me better! I was practically yelling my name at her, for my pizza to be the only one waiting to be picked up... so it's not like it was busy. One other customer was inside. I work in food service and I would never act towards a customer like that. And when I was given the box, she threw it on the counter! I would be fired at my job for acting like that! I will never go again and I made sure to share the horrible service with all my friends. I saw a coupon online. before purchasing I called to ask about it because I was about to drop like 75$ on pizza. I asked if I needed to print it out or do anything to utilize this other than purchase. the girl on the phone was nice and expressed as long as i had the email and could show her, it was fine. it comes with a unique confirmation code. I get there to pick up the pizza and some cranky old man named Rick W DEMANDED I walk all the way to fedex to PAY to print the coupon I was told over the phone before purchasing was fine to show from my phone. fedex was nice but it was a 17 minute process. I pay to print it. go back and express I never would have ordered through them if I knew all of this. I don't even own a printer is why I made sure to ask. I read the fine print also before purchasing and no where does it say it needs to be printed. he did not offer any apologies or take accountability for their mistake. I believe they even over charged me when I compared to online pricing. the pizza by this time was not hot, wasnt anything special and all my guests were stuck waiting outside my house for me. First let me just say, that i have over 175 pizza reviews on Barstool Sports' "One Bite App". I've been through Long Island, Jersey, all over Upstate New York, Philly, and youre not going to find but maybe 2 other places that even comes close to this pizza in the Rochester area (Try a slice from La Famiglia, recently ate there and was blown away). Everybody leaving bad reviews seem like a bunch of cry babies." Oh the staff is so mean" When i go in for pizza, I expect to find an angry group of people behind the counter slinging pie into that hot oven all day. I expect to see some old Italian guy cursing and telling me to "Go pay the lady." like the one reviewer complained about. Honestly, I wouldn't care if they said to me, "See ya later fatty!" as I walked out the door with my slices, as long as the pizza was good. People need to toughen up a little bit. You can't say anything anymore without hurting someones feelings. You people must never of had any real life problems. I've been to Joes at least a dozen times, i dont live in the area, or i would definitely go more often. If you like thin, crispy, light, chewy, NYC style pizza, this is your spot. The only thing is, it is a little expensive. You're going to pay around 4 or 5 dollars a slice depending upon what you order, but the slices are big enough for me to warrant that. They offer specialties pizzas like Pulled Pork with Ghost Peper BBQ sauce, and White Pizza with Black Garlic, everything i've had is great, but my favorite slice, is the Old Fashioned. Im sure it gets overlooked because it doesnt have any mozz on it. What it does have is a sauce that is loaded with chopped garlic, fresh basil, shallot, olive oil, and pecorino cheese on top. Its super flavorful, a flavor bomb if you will. I always enjoy Joe's. So dont be discouraged to try this place based upon a couple butthurt reviews. I have to say this is a classic example of not judging a book by its covers. Location was good but I was slightly disappointed upon entering. I looked at what appeared to be sad slices of pizza on the counter ready to be picked out and popped into the over for consumption. I don't know what it was that made me feel like I was about to enjoy regular pizza. Maybe it was the location of the bar they were at, maybe the glass protecting these amazing slices was foggy and needed a cleaning. Who knows. What I do know is that this is a bombshell pizza joint. Ya you know what, maybe it was the location of the pies. I don't think I was hit with that smell of yeast and cooking pizza upon entering. How the senses can mess with you. Then again, it was cold outside so maybe I couldn't smell anything. Anyways. I got 2 slices of pepperoni. The crust was unbelievable. No soggy parts, not too crunchy.....just right. Oh the cheese blended with the pepperoni just right and wasn't overpowered by sauce. I had to check if there was any sauce on it!!!! There was. Keep doing what you do in there. In my review of "Brooklyn Pickle" in Syracuse, I talked about the different "sizes" of boys' equipment in NYC, and how you can stereotype the size of the boys by which borough they are from. And of course Brooklyn has the large sizes. Or used to before the hipstery thing. Well Joe is from old-school Brooklyn, No Sleep Til Brooklyn Brooklyn, Saturday Night Fever Brooklyn. No wonder this place used to be called "Joe's Brooklyn P*n*s." It really is that impressive people. It really, really is. However he now sells the best slices in Rochester. Better than Nino's, better than Carmine's, right up there with Pizza Stop. What to get: Amazing NYC style thin-crust slices, grandmas slice. What else: I've heavily censored this review to make it more Yelp friendly, so stfu. Also: If anyone has issues with this review just message me and tell me which part bothers you, we can discuss, I can maybe edit. If I delete it then it's one less 5-star review for an awesome local business, and a lot of cool peeps read my stuffs, so it's best for it to stay. Joe was forced to change the name of the place because nobody was coming here for Pizza. Which was fine with Joe, but not with Joe's wife nor his wallet. So he went down the "straight and narrow" which in no way whatsoever describes Joe, nor his equipment. There are two pizza places in Rochester that are utterly incredible, to the point that even if they were in Buffalo, they would be fighting to get into the top 5 slices of pizza in town. Which is a real feat of incredulity since Buffalo has insanely good pizza. Those 2 places are Pizza Stop (my fave), and Joe's Brooklyn, which is basically every bit as good as Pizza Stop, except for one thing: they need to heat up their slices properly so they burn your mouth, like PS does and like all the NYC places do! I should also mention that Nino's is very good and Carmine's is amazing. I was offered a choice of pizza from all 5 boroughs: I "Chose Brooklyn Pizza." The thin crust pizza is absolutely delicious... beyond delicious. One of the slices was properly heated and rocked my world... so wet and juicy and heavenly. The other one was a little lukewarm. You can see them in my picture. They are some of the best tasting slices not just in the 585, but in the whole state. The hype is true. Get over here and try these slices. If Harrison Ford had a brown hat and a whip and bought this pizza place, it would be "Indiana Jones Brooklyn Pizza." The other thing I had was the Grandma Slice. That was also fantastic, and right up there with the Grandmas in NYC that I've had. Oh wait, you don't want to know that I sleep with 70 year olds. Forget I said that. But places like Luigi's (Brooklyn, 5th Ave) and Louie's (Queens, Baxter) make amazing Grandmas, and so does Joe's here in the 585. Who needs to go to NYC anymore? And yes I do appreciate the irony that the 2 places I recommended both have almost the same name. Not even remotely related to each other. It's a mafia thing. If the pizza here was a joke, or it was a comedy club by night, it'd be "Jokes Brooklyn Pizza", but it's not, so. And I'd like to thank the lovely Cece for recommending this place to me, among other people. You all steered me right and I owe you one. Actually I owe you two or three. Or if you all hang out in my bedroom sometime I can owe you seven and a half. Or if you go and check out Joe's Broklyn P*n*s then he can owe you 12, which is really hard to find without enhancements and implants, and I'm pretty sure people from Brooklyn don't even know what those are. Simply Perfect. Once you have eaten great pizza in NYC then and only then will you know why anything else is a bad comparison. JOE'S BROOKLYN PIZZA is not similar to NYC pizza it IS NYC pizza. You may love pizza that is different, but IF it doesn't taste like Joe's Brooklyn Pizza then it is not NYC pizza. There was one small point, It was so good, I ended up eating 6 pieces! Was extremely embarrassed as my guests complained about how bad it was. Called today and wasn't even listened to, but was talked over as I tried to express my concern and was told it "wasn't their problem" and I had to go through grub hub. A lot of folks in Rochester gripe about pizza but base their complaints on local chain pizzerias. Yes, the glut of chains has all but obliterated the iconoclastic mom & pop pizza shops; and at first glance, you might think Joe's Brooklyn Pizza *is* franchise, especially since it's nestled between Five Guy's and Moe's in the Henrietta Top's Plaza. You'll be relieved, then to find out that Joe's is a true hometown business, with roots in Midtown Plaza and obviously the love child of a true blue pizza making family. They make some of the best pizza I've had in the area (and that's saying a lot). I gave them a whirl after a couple of places I used to frequent went down hill, and have been a regular since then. Great thin crust, Sicilian and specialty pizzas (my daughter loves their Buffalo Pizza). While on the surface it might seem to be tad more expensive than your average chain pizza joint, it is better a quality product made with better ingredients. The Pizza is SO good! We got a thin crust Medium (Is what other places consider a large pretty much) with Mozzarella, Meatballs and Ricotta. The crust was thin, crispy and the sauce was so flavorful. The garlic knots are tasty - with garlic butter and parm cheese. Not a huge fan of the cinnamon knots - too much cinnamon. Ordered online and was ready right on time. Use code Joes10 to get 10% off. The guys working were super friendly and appeared to enjoy their job - that's always a good sign. I saw a freshly baked white pizza there and it looked so good! I didn't try their pizza until this year after the pandemic hit. The pizza has been great - thin crust, enough cheese, and good bread. I've had buffalo chicken, spinach and artichoke, Hawaii, and Grandma's. I did both curbside pickup and in-store pickup. Curbside was good - I arrived, I called to confirm my order was ready and then pulled my car at the front to receive the pizza. The person who came out had mask and gloves on. I did in-store pick up recently. The door was open so I didn't have to use the door handle. It's really hot inside. I was told my pizza was still in the oven so I waited for a few minutes. Based on my observation, the staff didn't have their masks full on unless they had to interact with customers. There was a customer who came in and was paying with cash at the moment when my order was ready. The pizza guy (mask and gloves on) brought mine to me and the cashier (mask on) was handling the cash for the other customer. I hope he washed his hands afterwards. Ordered a few days before superbowl Sunday. It didn't help. Arrived at scheduled pick up time and nothing was started. One pizza was white garlic with anchovies. They added the anchovies after the pizza was cooked and cut?? The traditional pizza was over cooked and dry. Once the pizzas were done they started the wings. Needless to say the pizzas were cold and hard. I took the anchovies off as they looked like a dollop of Pooh. I tried it and it wasn't edible. The wings were MEH! Won't go back. Having lived and growing up in Brooklyn for the past 20 years, this is the best pizza and anything similar to what you would call pizza in NYC. The cheese pies taste exactly like home and reminds me of L&B or any neighborhood pizzeria in Bensonhurst. Well done crispy crust, thin pizza, perfect amount and taste of sauce and cheese. However, if you want it to taste extra good, you'd have to stop by the dine in or pick it up and not rely on delivering apps because they take forever and by the time it gets to you, it'll be cold (from experience through DoorDash) read more
