This was our first time here. The staff was so friendly and nice. The food was delicious. We had corned beef hash cooked well which doesn't happen much at restaurants. It was perfect. The place is small and the portions are large! Tried Joe's for breakfast upon a recommendation and ordered a ham & cheese omelet with fully loaded hash browns, toast, and coffee. Wowza. Delicious! The service was great. This is not a place for large parties because there isn't room for tables to be pushed together, but our group of 3 was seated right away in a comfortable booth. Watched a cockroach crawl up the wall of my booth I was sitting in and couldn't enjoy my meal after that. Seeing cockroaches in broad daylight at 11 in the morning is never a good sign. If you're looking for a "5 star" restaurant, on the surface this isn't it. It's small, homey, family owned feel. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, you can get a good breakfast for two around $20! I'm a breakfast person when I eat out and Joe's is one of my once a week stops. Portions are generous, and prices reasonable. They have daily specials. Pancakes are crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Omelettes are full of whatever you want. Their sweet tea is good, not coma-inducing like some places. Hadn't been there for years and wanted to try it again. While the food was plentiful and the price is good, the omelette I had was way overcooked and had an odd taste to it. It was so hot the cheese wasn't just melted but it was separated maybe that's what the taste was. I was also hoping that maybe they would have redecorated a little bit but the tables were real shoddy looking with lamination separating and I don't think there was a chair or cushion in the whole restaurant that wasn't ripped. Not sure if somebody near me was a heavy smoker but the stench of cigarette smoke was so strong in the air I almost gagged. Again while price was good I'd rather pay more for a place that was clean and taken care of. Probably my last visit there unfortunately as I like to support local small business. read more

If you're not looking for it, you'll miss it! And when we walked in, it was quaint and unassuming, with only a few tables... Then, we ordered our food!!! I ordered the "Monster Omelette" and my wife ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of "loaded hash browns". A few words and phrases come to mind... "HUGE PORTIONS" "DELICIOUS", "A DANGER TO ANY DIET!" The food was just plain AMAZING!! And the staff was very friendly! They actually got my order wrong. I had ordered plain hash browns cooked extra crispy...they accidentally brought me an order of loaded hash browns...But, it was a BEAUTIFUL accident!!!! Oh man!!! I ate them with enthusiasm! And they didn't charge me extra for making the loaded hash browns vs. the regular ones!! This is gonna be a regular stop on my breakfast menu!!!! The portion was SO LARGE that I couldn't even finish it! I TRIED! And I didn't want to stop eating it!!! I didn't even eat lunch! I was still STUFFED from eating breakfast! My husband and I came to Joe's one day and we were mortified. I'm not sure why we stayed to be honest. AC/DC was playing on the radio in the kitchen, now that's not bad but along with a cook who had a smoke with a looong ash... I don't want to eat ash, the cook was coming in and out of the kitchen with waving around different utensils, waitress was too busy hanging out with whom I can only presume are regulars, we paid for our food and left. Haven't been back in a number of years. It was dirty, employees were rude, too loud and too smokey for me. I'll not go back unless something drastic happens. If the restaurant is visibly dirty and disgusting, what do you think the places we can't see like in the kitchen looks like? read more
